I have 16 years experience on dirt bikes. I'm almost 20 years old. I rode a 650r, but there are lots of 500's for sale cheaper. But I'm just not sure if I could live with the hp off the 500r. Any insight? I am new to street, but not new to bikes.
Doctor: *smothers laughter, cough, cough* "Yeah, I'm going to prescribe a life time break from riding, and I would recommend YouTube trolling for 5 days to deal with the insecurity you'll face from harassment"
Rider: "I hate trolling!"
Doctor: "you look like one on your bike, you'll get use to it in no time"
Nothing wrong with a powerful first bike. If you don't have the discipline to respect the beast then you don't belong on one in the first place. 250s are for chicks and homos.
@jjenningsoh Lol, Nope. I own a gixxer but I know a lot of people who own a 250 that I'm sure have more skill in one finger than you. Now you can try to come up with some witty comeback to make you look cool.
I think I am gonna get one of these Ninja 500 as a starter bike. I'm 6'1, 225 so I think my sheer size will soak up alot of the bikes power. Also, I ride snowmobiles and personally own a Yamaha SRX 700 and have learned to appreciate and respect the power that all these little vehicles have. I should be safe, right?
Holy shit...is this at Carroll Community??? If so this is EXACTLY the same place where I first learned to ride a motorcycle. What are the effing chances. Also, tell your friend to relax a bit. He's all hunched over like he's racing, it's weird.
I would HIGHLY recommend a 500cc Ninja from Kawasaki. I started with a 750. Too much power. I have excelled since getting my 500!!! Everyone is going to have a different perspective however. Do your research online. The Ninja 500 is always near the top of the list for a beginner bike. Good luck!!!
The preperation is (almost) perfect. Big open lot. Good size bike. Helmet, jacket. Unlike the T-shirts and shorts Ive seen in other posts' of beginners learning. Gotta take 1 point away for no gloves but otherwise good prep.

@jjenningsoh And by saying that you just told everyone that you have a small penis.

@ColdFlamezz Why are you talking about my penis? You must be a chick or homo with a 250 right?

What would one look out for for a first bike? Obviously, a 1000cc bike wouldn't be wise, what are some good first ones to get?
