@laserblade1029 You have to press REALLY, REALLY fast when you have downwards momentum. It's possible to overcome it, but you seriously need a lot of pressing.

@01rafa123 If you spam the B button after activating it, you will travel upward, but it's by momentum. If you're falling down and you don't have any upward momentum, you can only slow yourself, but if you use your second jump first, you can shoot up a good distance.

Luigi is my main, and so far, the only two things I'm having trouble with is being able to reliably connect with the Fire Jump Punch, and remembering that I need to use the Down+B at the top of the second jump so i get the height required.

ok this is something i've alwasy been wondering as luigi...when you do the b-down where it spins and hits them with the fists, i know you can slide around on the ground but how do you go up in the air when on the edges?

when you do the down-b move, hold the control stick down and rapidly tap on B. It's recommended as soon as you jump to use that move, that way you get the boost, if you do it when the jump is no longer fresh then you just float temporarily

I don't think you need to hold down on the control stick. That just makes you fall faster when you stop spinning. Although hopefully, you're on solid ground by then.
