Awesome video, as a former Firefighter/EMT-D in upstate New York I still get chills everytime I hear the sirens wail. Helping out at Ground Zero was one of the worst and best experiences of my life. To the brotherhood, and all civil servants that protect us, God Bless you all.
Thank you for that video. My hubby is Los Angeles County Fire and he is my hero. He just lost 2 brother firefighters in the Station fire..... God Bless all those have served & gone before us and to those who continue to serve, may God protect you.

This comment is for every figher fighter anywhere in the U.S... they risk their life everyday for us and most of them dont get paid much at all..... they are the true heros, not superman or batman, the men and women who go out and put their ass on the line ..when we complain about a bad driver or a baseball game we should think about the families who have lossed a loved one helping others, this comment is for police, soldiers and anyone who died in 9/11 and the Worcter fires to God Bless Bros
I just gotta love how you say overpaid when the majority of firefighters in the US are volunteers and the ones that are paid get substanially less then the majority of other civil service jobs
It's still somewhere around 80% volunteer and even the 20% that are classified as Career don't all get paid as full time jobs. There are some companies that have paid drivers or Chiefs to make sure that there is enough staffing or a combination volunteer/career department.
In 2001 the average firefighter in the FDNY before any overtime go paid around $35,000 a year. Do you realize how little that is in a city like NY? Even if you are single that is not enough to even pay the most basic bills.

You guys should have Starbucks coffee and married women delivered to the fire house to save taxpayer money on gas driving those trucks around on your breaks.
worries all the time but she knows what i do is right im a volunteer also i dont get paid i do it cause its good to help people when they need it o and try tellin every widow of a firefighter and every mother of a firefighter that their son and husbands died fuckin around try to do that try to tella victims mother that their son or husband or father or wife isnt coming home and see them cry try to be in mine and evry other firefighters shoe befor you open your fuckin mouth till then
love how u say overpaid, if u knew anything u would know that most of the FF's in the US r volunteers and the ones that do get paid dont make much, most work another full time job, think before u speak, statements like this make u appear stupid, and we dont take the trucks out for coffee runs jackass
Think before you speak! Firefighters don't spend their time fucking around, they spend it saving ungrateful assholes like you. And as for being overpaid heroes, you tell my uncle's widow that because he did not make enough money for them to have savings for when he died. He died in the line of duty when a ceiling collapsed on him in a burning building.
You can look into local volunteer companies, depending on where you live. A lot of places you only have to be 14 or 16 to join and start training and running as a junior.
My brother is a firefighter and he said because of videos like this it makes it all worth it..Thank you for making videos like this (much love for your military tribute video also)
I am a Fire Fighter in Chilhowie Va. Videos such at this one say more than words can say. It gives a fire fighter one of the best feelings a human being can feel.
i don't comment videos often! And its even less often that i find a video as good as this! I don't think i could even Imagen what they had to go through on 9/11
Junior Firefighters is another program similar to Fire Explorers. Teens can learn the job and train with firefighters so they can know if it's something they want to become volunteer or career. It gives teenagers something constructive to do with their time, teaches them physical and life skills, as well as a feeling of great accomplishment.
