I agree that she shouldn't be expected to act as if she has no flaws, because of course, she does. But I do think that it was VERY irresponsible of her to do drugs in an environment where she knows there's a camera, and that there's a very high risk of that video ending up online, where it can be viewed by millions of her underage fans. If she wants to do it, that's her choice, but don't do it in such a way that it becomes accessible to the children that look up to her, and will COPY her.
I totally agree. She was a CHILD when she signed her Disney contract, you cannot expect someone of her age (at the time) to think about how she would act in the future or the fact that girls would be looking up to her one day. Children should be looking up to their parents over anyone else. I think that's part of the job of being a parent is to be your child's role model. Parent's are the ones who should be teaching a kid right and wrong, not what they see on TV, but sadly parents are there as much as they used to be so kids just have people like Miley and "Teen Moms" to look up to. I'm a education major and learn about this ALOT in my child development classes, it's crazy how easily influenced kids are by celebrities
Well that's what Disney/Childhood stars have to deal with (Most celebs really). And they should know that going in the business. Even though she is human, she will always have to deal with people ridiculing her because she's a celebrity. Everyone is being watched by someone and will always be judged by someone. I agree that she shouldn't be expected to act as if she has no flaws, because of course, she does. But I do think that it was VERY irresponsible of her to do drugs in an environment where she knows there's a camera, and that there's a very high risk of that video ending up online, where it can be viewed by millions of her underage fans. If she wants to do it, that's her choice, but don't do it in such a way that it becomes accessible to the children that look up to her, and will COPY her.

I totally agree. She was a CHILD when she signed her Disney contract, you cannot expect someone of her age (at the time) to think about how she would act in the future or the fact that girls would be looking up to her one day. Her deciding to smoke a bong and have it filmed was highly irresponsible but she's a teenager. Teenagers are moronic, she's also human and every human in the world makes mistakes. Miley knows she's a role model for many young girls and she does need to be a little more careful than your average teenager because not half the world is looking up too you. Children should be looking up to their parents over anyone else. I think that's part of the job of being a parent is to be your child's role model. Parent's are the ones who should be teaching a kid right and wrong, not what they see on TV, but sadly parents are there as much as they used to be so kids just have people like Miley and "Teen Moms" to look up to. I'm a education major and learn about this ALOT in my child development classes, it's crazy how easily influenced kids are by celebrities

But I totally agree with this video. I have to admit, I used to be one of those people who totally dissed celebrities when they did idiotic stuff. But, you know, I grew up and made some of my own mistakes. And it sucks to even watch all these people get bashed. I make a mistake and its whatever. I learn from it and move on. These people make mistakes? 100+ people start to hate their guts. That's gotta be a lot of pressure on someone

No one expects Miley to be perfect. BUT she is a rolemodel for many many young girls, & ya she's gonna make mistakes and do what she wants but she chose to be in the spotlight and she knows that little girls look up to her weather its healthy or not..Miley should watch what she does or more be careful with what she does so things don't get all over the news, and such where her young fans may see it. She's not just anyone she is a celeb and she chose to be & she should be responcible to a degree.

Miley hasn't done much for herself, she was bought into fame because of who her dad is. I agree she isn't the biggest skank but still... she isn't the most amazing role model, and why does everyone immediately think that a role model is a celebrity? My role model is my nanna and she is a celebrity in my eyes :)

@ImTheRingLeader lets be realistic...the way technology is these days every kid has a computer and if they dont then a friend does....if they dont find this stuff on there own they most likely will find out about it from someone in school or whatever....the only way you can keep this kind of stuff away from them is to take away tv, phones, and computers from every single kid and lets face it thats never going to happen

I feel like Miley should get to do what she wants, as long as it's not illegal. However, I don't think Miley thought about her fan base when she wanted to start doing "more mature" things/having a more mature look. She started doing this around age 16 and 17 and the problem was that hannah montana wasn't in the past yet. I think that Hilary Duff did it right. She took roles and acted in a way where her aud. was able to grow w/ her and understand the choices she made and didn't grow up too fast.

Honestly kids don't see hannah montana or miley as a role model yes, they wana be her for halloween or listen to her songs or wear the same skinny jeans as her. It does not mean that they will grow up and be JUST LIKE HER. Parents should let their kids know that no one is perfect and kids shouldnt have celebs as role models. Being a teen, i know almost all of the girls younger and older that no whats right and wrong. And choose good role models.

I agree people make mistakes, and celebrities are human beings just as everyone else; therefore they should be able to experiment with life and live how they want to - but I still don't agree with a lot of things Miley does, like if you're going to put yourself out there you have to understand you're under the public eye, and people are going to judge you, or worse: copy you... Haha. ;)
With that in mind I think people like Miley should consider that more, rather than abusing their fame (: <3
