  • awesome

  • its the oldest trick in the book!!! very simple all it is is a duplicate image mask over where the balls are someone then comes in switches balls and the also but a fake shake on the camera from the still shot zoomed in and motion shaked all very easy to do especially for the bbc!!! this is defo how it is done if it wall real would not have had balls to left of screen hope that clears it all up ;)

  • who could believe such sh-te?

  • I love the 'BBC has the legal right to announce the lottery numbers first' rubbish. Given that the numbers weren't a complete set or the confirmed results he could have announed his prediction. Clearly the balls didn't have those numbers on before the result was announced...haven't said that I haven't seen the explanation of how he did it.

  • Derren's explanation just goes to show how this "lying", "cheating", "faggot" is much more intelligent than the know-it-alls on here.

    Unlucky guys.

  • watch?v=KODaHprTdxg

  • -nods- He says that he don't believe in physics/mediums. He's an illusionist by art!

  • congratulation, now tell us how much did u win??? oo wait u didn't play the lotto?? !!

  • He was actually banned from buying a lottery ticket :D!

  • ps david blanes version is better.....;)

  • Your all Faggots,

He Couldn't use digital trickery or whatever shit ur complaining about,

the camera was moving the whole time!

  • He could've faked the camera movement to look like it's a handheld.

  • its all rubbish! its a split screen between the balls and the tv. its then paused when the lottery balls come out! then the correct balls are put down! look at the end ball on the left its higher at the end!!!!!

  • Agree'd.

The way he shown on that show on Friday could of just been another technique to mislead us. Its Derren Brown after all :P

  • Clue 1: my show on Wednesday night was sandwiched between two long programmes where I perform in front of a live audience. This is power of suggestion over a TV audience. Clue 2: The camera in the distance is too far away to really make out the handheld camera. Clue 3: On my Friday night "reveal all" show the guy who calculated the 4 winning numbers was hand-picked by me. Clue 4: I calculated the winning numbers personally and none of the volunteers saw my prediction before the draw.

  • He lied, he did not predict anything - prediction is revealing something BEFORE the event occurs, Brown revealed his numbers AFTER the lottery event.

  • see i dont understand it why the fuck wouldnt he have doen the lottery if it was real

  • Lmao, I can't believe some people think he actually predicted the numbers.

It's obviously a magic trick, probably involving a split screen.

  • i think he showed on his show that it was all probability

  • Well that's what he said... but probability can't win you the lottery like that. It seems he invented an explanation.

  • Look ppl if you are that interested go and watch how he did at at 9 o clock on channel 4 tonite. If he shows you wot he does what have you got to lose? Either ul understand or ul stil think its fake, Im totally netural on this point. I dont care wither its real or fake. Who cares? Get a day job if this is wat interes's u. I only watching it coz i missed it last nite and i wanted to c wat it was like. Comment on a beta vid. Dont waste ur tym on this.

  • get a grip its a trick! if mr brown could predict the lottery numbers he would not be showing you he'd already of done it and would be sitting in his castle....also he can show the numbers before the bbc because every day there are predictions of the days lucky numbers when he shows you how easy it was you'll kick yourselves or better stil the very toady mr brown ;)

  • uve obviously never seen his show... or ud know that he shows u because he wants to prove that psychics and that is bullshit, its about mind over matter, he doesnt do it to get rich (despite the fact he now is) he does it because hes interested in what he does. and besides if he predicted the numbers and then entered he wud probably get arrested on suspicion of cheating u jumped up twat. mayb u dont know hes banned for life from all casinos because he won about 500000 from one game of blackjack

  • Listen you moron. He is not a magician nor those he have psychic powers. For example, he made you keep your attention on him and the TV, while the balls were being placed on the rack as the numbers were being announced. The left hand side of the screen was just a mirror image. Grow up and get a life. MAGIC IS JUST TRICKS.

  • Oh and by the way, MORON, you can't mirror image a moving video.. failboat. especially not when its live.. FAIL

  • cheating u jumped up twat..... wow u must be mr derren brown or worse stil his off spring! took propa offence didnt you? il say it one more time cos i kno u stil believe in santy claus! its a trick pure and simple its all smoke and mirrors and misdirection oh yeah i forgot he won what did you say 500000 in one game of blackjack! pal watch bravo them boyz are winning millions in a night proves sh*t other then a good player...now run along u donkey raping sh*t eater the adults are talkin ;)

  • wtf nah man dats jus fake

  • Why did he not buy a ticket?

  • the national lottery banned him from doing so

  • channel 4 stopped him

  • because he did not know the numbers!

  • the fact that he is doing it while the live draw is going on means something fishy is going on and he's just another lying S.O.B.

He should predict the numbers 1 hour before the draw so then we can laugh at what a lowlife waste of space he is when he is found out.LOL!!

  • It's down to methodology, If you've seen any of his shows he often takes probability over a large scale and takes a large stake on it, for example; it took him a year to complete this, so in theory he could have researched every lottery outcome and made a educated "guess" on the numbers, either way you'll find out eventually.

  • Why didn't he predict 9/11?

    Where was Derren Brown then?

Was he in bed that day?

  • He thought it would be a lark

  • And it was such a cracking day!

  • TheFlarey wins most dumb ass comment of the day. Congratulations.

  • He wasnt famous then. :/

  • That's why Derren let it happen you see.

    It was a conspiracy!

  • fuck you mate we have different time zones so he would be in bed so fuk off

  • You can't take a joke you twat!

  • im a twat why dont you fuk off

  • He dislikes asswipes like you.. so he didn't bother.

  • The guy is an illusionist and will reveal how he did it tonight (Friday 11/09), so speculation is futile.

  • what a loada b/s man

  • CAMERA TRICK END OF

  • if derren had of shown the numbers camelot would have gone fucking mad, people would question the integratey of the lottery and lose millions of pounds

  • you know it would be good if he showed us his predictions before the lottery numbers came out.

  • evry1 wud use them tho

  • is it me or ws dair a pause at 1:09

  • It's you.

  • all this shit people are posting, watch this at 0:48 etc reminds me of Michael Caine in The Prestige.

"The trick's too good, you 'ave to give 'em a reason to doubt it."

    Or something along those lines.

  • what would have been good is if he released the number (if it wasnt an illusion btw for the slow people this is a hypothetical comment) to the public and everyone put bets down but only ended up winning a penny :D it would seriously fuck the statistics of people winning the lottery

    peace

  • some more clues in this video /watch?v=DIfNtvDdAl8

  • I just noticed something, there is a third camera, look very closly at Derren after he waves 0:52, he points to the TV and turns around then looks at the right at the first camera man and then quickly realizes that he is looking into the wrong camera and quickly changes his view to the motion controlled camera. The shot where he walks in and the view from the other camera, they have blocked out the crane camera, notice the other camera is static. (Con't Below)

  • Another quick note, the man holding the camera is stood right in front of Derren, look closely and it dosn't match the image when we go back, it slightly off to the right, which tallies up with what i wrote up top....

  • i can do this aswell, its easy.

  • even with the camera set up right the television image would never be that clear. the only issue with all this is, people are offering solutions...but he states we could all do it aswell. if it involves a motion track camera, an avid editing suite and a broatcast quality camera....ill be pissed.

  • The first part of Darren talking and walking to the TV was pre-recorded including the view we see from the rear camera.Makes you believe theres a cameraman holding a wobbly camera. But thers realy a locked down camera you don't see. Split screen and computer gen shake added.

See a major view change at 0.07 (Darren waves)compared to 0.09. Camera view bigger now showing white stand base. View changes too quickly for a cameraman to adjust the shot. Darren live at 0.09.

    Spit screen trick follows

  • ye just as it flicks to other view he looks for his mark to stand on

  • THIS IS HOW YOU COULD DO IT, EASILY. A fixed camera records Derren, Live - this camera remains still (Important). This feed is put through a computer and fed onto a second screen. This screen is filmed all shaky, so it looks 'unedited'. This is the feed that is broadcast. As someone has already said, the left side of the screen is paused (with the editing computer, using the still and therefore easily edited footage), man changes balls, side is unfrozen, Derren walks on reveals balls, TA-DA!

  • absolutley everyone says that. i doubt hes as obvious as dual cameras and pre recorded video. thats the first conclusion everyone comes too.

  • but the camera isnt still, unless its being digitally wiggled ....but then it isnt because there is parallax problems when trying to recreate that....eitherway i personally dont care how he did it.....my brain is rational enough to assume that it isnt magic so thats all i need to satisfy my curiosity :P

    peace

  • fyi the ball moving at 5.34 is where he touches the first ball, have you never seen that happen when you have a bunch of speheres rammed into a space and you touch one, then another moves further up the row? very quick movement too, to get someone to pick out exactly the right balls and get them in order, yes there is a trick here somewhere, he has never denied that that is his job and how he works

  • And...what is the purpose of the second camera in this "prediction"? O wait...for the split screen lol

  • Fakest ever. Clearly split screen effect. Notice how ball 23 moves up severly at minute 5.34. Notice how its "illegal" for him to show his "prediction" before BBC. Notice how he stutters across the screen at 5.13 so he dosent dissapear off screen behind the split screen effect. So wrong. Never belive this s***

  • I do agree with you on everything apart from ball 23 moving - although i could be wrong, i think it moved because he rolled ball (2) and because they are stuck quite tight in the plastic holder it moved?

  • at 5:18 a finger pops out from behind the card just beside the 39...

  • This is real. He doesnt do it for the money. He has been studying it for a few years.

  • PAPARIA LEO EGO

  • it wa an handheld camera any way so its guna shek init gos ppl giv him a round of applause just cos we carnt do it chuffinel

  • do you not think then, that if he can predict lottery numbers he should be a millionaire? do you think he put a bet on the lottery yesterday and won? I'm no way doubting him but I was thinking if i had that power i'd be minted cause i'd have won the lottery loads of times!

  • they used a laser to write on the numbers

  • wouldn't there be burn marks and smoke?

  • the way the camera moves is extremely robotic, when hes watching the tv look at how the camera moves. i reckon its a split screen with a programmed movement in a studio.

  • It not a lie its all logic, thats what he does real illusions and logic to do things normal people can't do

  • The wall behind him is a canvas.. notice how he slips behind the numbers as if he hasn't got alot of room... and there's someone some how changing the numbers on the balls as they come through, you can see a black strip behind the balls which has be disguised from there being black bricks on the canvas behind him... :)

  • If he had spent a year making the prediction he would probably have remembered them more clearly when he came to read them out at the end.

  • what a surprise, that he couldnt reveal the numbers before the draw!!

  • he is well good i want to hire him 4 the lottery numbers ma hes a legend how does he do it

  • mann some people are just insane :P

i take my hat off to him

  • he didnt predict or he would have a live audience. its a split screen camera trick. blue screen or one side frozen like they did this in oceans eleven. anti-shake software that they use in the movies. the only other way is digital balls which he can change with that remote in his hand. dialling numbers with his hidden hand. everyone can do it is a lie to get u to watch on friday. legend.

  • yeah sure

  • To all people suggesting split screen: this technique is not possible with a moving camera. You would see the splitting seam down the middle. The camera never stops moving.

  • It is possible. it's a fairly new technique called digital sync. The camera isn't being moved by the cameraman during the broadcast, it's a pre-determined sequence of movements pre-programmed into the camera, and the camera in the adjoining studio with the identical background

  • It's clearly not because the palm of his hand is underneath the card and it'd be physically impossible for it to be his (it's probably his at another point in time but the camera trick went wrong at that point)

  • Derren Brown has countlessly stated that he doesn't use any trickery or anything like that. And i totally believe Derren when he says he isn't faking it.

  • doesn't use trickery? he's a magician for crying out loud!

  • i mean like he isn't using camera tricks or anything like that.

such as the camera trick that frankwillissa is talking about. which is also a load of bollocks may i add.

  • i can to believe this...

  • Amazing....

  • biggest part of the illusion was the general shot showing the camera man holding the camera with his hand at the beginning -- this was prerecorded earlier. His wave at the camera was totally fake but to try and prove that part was live. Actually there was a load of equipment in front of the TV and the camera was on a tripod

  • I believe camera tricks would be too obvious but you never know. I don't think it would have been worth his while doing it that way.

    Until Friday I am amazed.

  • If you look at 5.18 you can see a finger or thumb appear to the right of the card (as you look at it) while Derren's hand is underneath the card. This proves that it was done using camera trickery, i'm just not sure what camera tricks they used.

  • Yes i can see the finger, just right of the 9.

  • thats clearly his own thumb

  • Oh please. If the man was able to predict the national lottery I highly doubt that he'd come out on nationwide telly.. He'd be leaning back on a private island somewhere, ripping off the lottery every week.

  • Dont hate.. congratulate

  • At 5:09 the up and down movement mysteriously stops, just after all the numbers are clarified, just seems the whole camera panning up and down side to side is a bit too systematic and not natural, im still going for split screen and the screen switches back at 5:09

  • at 5.42 it stops moving at all just as all the balls have come out then comes back and 5.44 and gitters left 2 times and jumps slightly which is a unnatural movment becouse of split screen

  • saw somebody else write this but I wholeheartedly agree.

at 5:13 - 5:14 there is a definate pause in the camera, and a change in his tone of voice.

Looking forward to an explanation on friday but not too convinced right now!

  • Did he really record every outcome... That is a lot of them!

  • When the balls are announced watch carefully what Derren does, he places his hand over his mouth and is clearly speaking into his hand as the numbers are drawn!

  • The draw was at 8pm not 10:30!!!!!

Thats why he can't show the "Result" untill the BBC has!

The BBC was not a live broadcast but a live record!!!

  • not on a wednesday its broadcast at 10:35!!

  • I don't think it is split screen, because if you look, the camera moves a little bit every now and again, which pretty much counts it out.

Digital Balls of some sort may be a possibilty, dunno much about that though

  • this is a split screen camera trick, if he used magic balls which he can control remotely i will be surprised because he did it the harder way. he cant predict the lottery and no delay means there is no other way.

  • Here's how I reckon it's done - The camera is fixed in position on a tripod - while the numbers are being announced, the left hand side of the screen is frozen while the right hand side remains "live". Thus, while we're "seeing" the balls untouched, they're being exchanged for balls with the right numbers on.

What's clever about this is that they're adding digital "wobble" to the shot to make it look like the camera's hand-held (which would make the split-screening impossible).

  • Could be, but when you take it into acknowledgment that he said that he will explain it this Friday so that we ourselves can try it, you can kinda' cancel out anything like that.

Also the fact that this is HUGE in comparison to somethings he done. So it will be alot more intricate or in depth that a simple camera trick!

  • wouldn't make it impossible at all.

the field of view of the camera might be wider than the shot we are being shown

the brick wall would make an extremelly easy reference point for a system to track the left half and overlay the fake video

  • the camera isn't on a tripod because you see the man holding it when you see the far away shot from the other cameraman.

I think the wobble is real, because of the hand help camera

  • That's numberwang!

  • 32?

  • Thats WANGERNUMB! You have won tonights prize.....nothing sorry

  • I wanna see how he did that.

  • Its on this Friday on CH4 :D

  • anyone who can't see the giant mirror on screen is fucking stupid.

Why do you think he stands away from the balls

  • i'm stupid please please explain

  • Comment removed

  • Alright anybody who actually KNOWS magic know about Hudini's vanishing trick.

If you don't just shut the fuck up kid.

Also, as much speculation believed, Derren Brown is a faggot and used digital trickery.

  • Also, faggots who don't know magic submit negative feedback.

  • Hmm

  • :D amazing

  • i cant wait till friday.. also FIRST

  • me too
