  • Having been pushed to the limits of toleration, I fell screaming into the Czarchasm.

  • Beautiful and inspired genius incredibly executed. Had I such an ounce of his talent!

  • Genius or madness? Neither - a beautiful and unique amalgam of both. God bless, Vivian, my friend

  • the voice of war of the worlds does cliff richard

  • Fantastic!! Best Version ~ (sorry Cliff) ~ Pity this can no longer be re-released as a vinyl single with "Canyons Of Your Mind" on the 'B' side ~ a good companion piece because it has a couple of 'belching' sounds on it too.

  • One of the greatest rock n roll lines of all time

All right Lee - if you must!!!!

  • @Broadclystboy Absolutely

  • Great voice indeed! And what a funny man. He also was the voice on Tubular Bells.

  • Wooo....Viv beats Stiff Lichard any day .

  • Yep, only can you find this cool shit on youtube.

    I love it!

  • "Alright Lee.............if you musssssssssst...." (looks skyward, closes his eyes and shakes his head nonchalantly). I heard this in 1980 on Radio Caroline. Pissed myself laughing then and felt the mirth today.

Vivian Stanshall and Kilgaron was the official credit.

  • Ah, so great!

  • This is absolutely hysterical - Viv always could always raise a smile. :)

  • Minutegongcoughs - Try Freeganjaman, at start of this posting.

    Quoting having Viv's Peel stuff...

Good luck on your half of the drainpipe!

  • Ha Ha.

    I BOUGHT this NEW.

    The band was Kilgaron.

I played it to a musician friend. He said "Kilgaron, We used to gig with them!"

"Once in every lifetime, comes a love like this...." etc

  • That's the one. Kilgaron. Because it was the 'B' sideof the single it was included on the Harvest Box Set. Can anyone put up the John Peel show version?

  • I've searched for some info on this session but cannot get a list of everyone who played on it. Viv treated it as a throwaway track I believe.

  • @minutegongcoughs

The musicians who played on this track were collectively known as Kilgaron, a Forest of Dean based rock band 1972 - 1981. The members at the time of this session were Rob Butler (vocal/guitar) Roger Byett ( guitar ), Tudor Griffiths (keyboards), Mike Hopkins (drums) and Charlie Kyte ( bass ). KIlgaron were playing @ The Golden Lion, Fulham. The set list included The Young Ones. An A & R man from Harvest Records at the gig asked them to do the session.

  • Young lady with her tits out?

    Gemaine Greer!

  • @nissaki63 ... sure was ... bet the sanctimonious(?) cow would like to forget this now! I often feel like posting this pic to the BBC whenever I see her on TV ... "I don't know what I want, but I want it now!" ... now read on ...

  • Strange but nice anyway :)

  • God wanted to be in the Bonzos but they said he was too normal.

  • If god has a voice, this is it.

  • viv stanshal is a god

  • Is Bubs White playing guitar on this one? Anybody know?

  • It was "B" sided in 1976 w/Are You havin' any fun. 45 - Harvest 5114. It's on the Harvest Box comp. I would like to know if Bubs White is on guitar?

  • @minutegongcoughs God Bless Adrian Edmondson.

  • @af4k

No, Bubs White is not playing guitar. The geetar man is Roger Byett, lead guitarist with Forest of Dean rock band Kilgaron. The story is, Kilgaron were playing @ The Golden Lion, Fulham. An A&R man from Harvest was at the gig. The Young Ones featured in the set list at the time. Mr A&R man booked KIlgaron to do a session with Viv to record the Young Ones. It was recorded @ Air London studios an a Sunday afternoon. I think it was a case of Viv fulfilling his recording contract to Harvest.

  • This is great, thanks for posting, wheres this from?

  • It's on the "Harvest" Box Set.

  • Thanks is that Harvest as in Harvest records?

  • Indeed. I only know this version and have never heard the version listed by the poster below, ie. the John Peel Show version. Wish he would upload it.

  • Very nice, Thanks for posting on Y/T ;)

  • I recorded an even better version of this off John Peel's show!
