Very atmospheric of the period. I now own and have fully restored one of the stations TACR-1s (Crash Tender) from this period but sadly I didn't spot in in your wonderful video!
Those were good days. I wish I could turn the clock back to when I was at Linton-on-Ouse. I flew several hours in these aircraft and the Piston Provosts before them.
Wow...a trip down memory lane or what ? I worked on this type of aeroplane (1st and second line) at RAF Cranwell between 1984 and 1988.Thanks for posting this :-)
What puzzles me is why these older fighters jets are available for very little money (50K-100K) in flying condition.. I understand the market for these extreme machines is limited, very few having the skills to fly them safely, and running costs must be insane. Any takes on this?
there was one jet provost about 3 months ago on ebay for £6000! i thoink it because now one is quialified to fly them and the air force doesnt need them anymore!
Sorry about the poor quality of picture and poor sound but it was recorded on the first camcorder on the market in 1985. Comment by UUPIGUY who uploaded this video.
Graduated at L-o-Ouse in '71 on Mk3a and Mk5 JP. Your video has reminded me of that time. Thank you so much for posting. Regs M.

@capney I worked in G.R.S.F but was given authority to make this video by the Air Ministry. The C.O of Linton at that time was Grp Capt Roy Crompton.
