Your playing it wrong, only play the base once on each chord change ie

G 6 3 2 3 4 3 2 3 4323 4323 Same on each chord except C which as you know

is 5. It will sound just like the Piano on the original recording.

@kreason2365 Instead of playing for 30 mins when your fingers are sore, just hold the guitar whilst watching tv

forget your right hand just practice chord shapes with your left, dont press too hard, your fingers will soon harden up, good luck.

Maybe a helpful hint:

When playing the D/F# in this case i find it is much easier to do 2XX23X so first finger on low E, middle finger on G and ring finger on B.

Also when playing G and Em7 you dont need to worry about the little finger because you dont play the high E string...

Once I realised this, it became a very quick learning process...especially as i have a classical and my thumb cant reach around the neck to bar the low e...
