@SickLIDGuy Ha, that is not a ALL what community tank means. CT means there are different species of fish included as opposed to a species tank. This tank is overstocked for my taste but with the right filtration it might have been...ok. It was 5 years ago though, so who knows what happened.

@Francheska7778 All depends..first make sure that you are really going to need a plant substrate. If you want a tank like this then you will need a plant substrate. If you plan on having 2 or 3 plants..do not waste your time. allow the fish poo poo to provide nutrients. I use seachem substrate. I had Onyx Sand in my 28 and now I believe I have seachem red gravel in my 10 gallon.

tips;do a full waterchange,pre wash your gravel, keep tank away from direct sunlight and u can use carbon or even better seachem purigen, make sure u take it out but after a week or 2, couse it will leach out toxins that it absorbs hope this helped u out

if its foggy its probly becuase u didnt rinse the gravel or clean the gravel befor putign in

it takes time and the right bacteria to establish itself which will maintain clear water with regular water changes of 10-25% use Stability by Seachem for a fishless cycle and quick establishment of your bio-filter. if you didn't already know this, you need to do some research on your own.. Youtube is not the place

let me guess...glowlights, danios (zebra and couple of pearls?), corydoras forget what type, a guppy? and a couple of xray tetras? and some neon tetras:P? thats a rough guess nice little tank i got a juwel rio the 4 foot one and due to some neglect for my computer project its sorta been ruined inside with overgrown plants and some algae ;( might go back to my 2 foot n clean out the big one for bigger fish

when i had a 2 foot i used a fluval canister filter in the tank it was superb and a good plan is to buy a slightly bigger filter than you need along with weekly 1/4 watre changes, not boasting but my water was crystal clear aswell until i moved to the juwel which is the shittest filter i have had tbh

its just a natural daylight flourescent, in the fixture that comes with the aquarium hood, the best way to get a nice even glow is to use a black backround that absorbs those wiley stray lightwaves

They're called Bubble Stones. You can buy them at any pet-store, they hook-up to an Air Pump. The pump forces air through the little airways, making the bubbles. They're necessary for good oxidation of the water.

you need 3 things, an air stone, an air pump, and some tubing. the air stone is just a porous stone that you attach to the tubing.

just an air pump, most pes stores sell them, they aren necesary per say but they do help oxygenate the water by agitating the surface, and they help the filter by forcing particles that have settled on the waters surface back down into the tank, which makes the water look crystal clear, like it does at the pet store
