  • Hayley Atwell <3

  • VOLDEMORT! DAMN!

  • The Duchess of where??

  • @chanctonbury63 Devonshire

  • pretty :))

  • This bitch cheated u go girl

  • Keira Knightley is SOOOO BEAUTIFUL!!

  • gosh.. he really doesn't understand love... voldemort!!! But the actor looks pretty....if he smiles (and that is in this film not very often). He is also in the film 'Manhattan Love Story'. That's very confusing (because he plays a lovely man^^

  • this movie makes me love Keira Knightley even more! she is gorgeous. I would kill that bastard Voldemort if I had a chance!

  • The Duchess of Devonshbire. You guys do know she is the late Princess Diana's ancestor

  • voldemort voldemort .. voldy voldy mort

  • Voldemort doesn't understand love.

  • just watched this last night i luved it till the ending that just pissed me off!! i was like what they didnt get together she just stayed with that jerk!

  • I watched this on a laptop, full screen, the other night, and couldn't concentrate half the time because I kept focusing on her amazing eyebrows.

  • I watched it last night and I love it!

  • If i had a dollar for every pixel in this video, i'd have 1 dollar....

  • AWESOME MOVIE!!! WORTH IT!!

  • Voldemort. That is all.

  • it looks like it's the preview of Princess Diana's life, marrying a man older than her, having a fashion sense and very beautiful AND the darling of the people. :)

  • This movie seems sad because its based on the life of the duchess of Dovenshire, Georgina. I hate how her husband loved his mistress and not her as well as all the other crap he put her through. I don't think i have the heart to watch it =(

  • @twilightfeen22

Watch it! It's sad but really good, one of my favorite movies.

  • Also, at least at the end of her life, the Duchess of Devonshire fell into a massive amount of debt. I know some people were commenting on how excessively wealthy she was, but it looks like she wasn't THAT wealthy.

  • Yes, what song is being played at 1:26 ?

  • what is the music in this trailer??

  • @charlie081293 I KNOW!!!! WHAT IS IT!!!

  • @GAYPRIDE1985 i kno what it is now!!! its called 'lucious dei' by immediate music :) hope you enjoy it as much as i have :D:D

  • great movie!

  • Awesome movie.

  • loved it!

  • Quite a dissapointing film. I love my period dramas but the pot was very simple and just a little boring. Very good acting from Ralph and Keira but I didn't like it. Sorry. Out of all the period dramas I've watched...it's down there with 'the mill on the floss'. 4-5/10

  • Didn't enjoy this movie, the characters weren't developed enough and the story is easily predicted. Nothing but 18th century eye candy.

  • I just watched it on BBC 2 Wales aswell it was an inspiring story xx:)

  • just watched this on BB2 AMAZING

  • Such an amazing movie, never really rated her as an actress since this and pride and prejuidice ! she did an incredible job

  • she could be the third member of jedward.

  • @DucaCakeBeauty She's quoting Tupac because it has EVERYTHING to do with this movie. This entire movie shows just how disrespectful men were towards women. Forcing marriage just to have a son as the heir. Abandoning their children if they weren't boys. Basically RAPING other women while their married, and not allowing their wives to get a divorce or see other people. Just treating women like a peice of crap. His rap has everything to do with this movie.

  • Looks cray-cray.

Anyway, I hate films where excessively-rich aristocrats complain about their angst and how bad their lives are.

  • @Vahtacen Oh yes, there are films that have rich people complain about angst despite all the shit going on in the world. But being trapped in a loveless marriage with an abusive husband who rapes you...oh no, that's not bad at all

  • @BreezeXHolly4ever Well, I would see that being very rich, wealthy and powerful whilst this happens would be superior to being poor, destitute, sick and homeless while it happened.

  • @Vahtacen this is a story a loveless marriage and the suffering of a woman. only a moron like you would bring class and money into this. besides, "poor" people always asking and expecting sympathy is pathetic.

  • @1234blahluv Wow.

Just wow. So, somehow, because I expressed the opinion that I didn't like watching movies about the super-rich aristocracy complaining about how hard they have it, it makes me a moron?

    I missed your logic there.

Saying that poor people asking or expecting sympathy is "pathetic" shows, truly, that you are either ignorant or indifferent to the suffering million, billions of people go through each day. I think that's worse than moronic.

  • This trailer does this film NO justice! its absolutely incredible and Keira Knightley's performance is electrifying!

  • word.

  • i will say one thing about this movie: it has alot of er "moments"..in my opinion >.> just a fair warning.. if u get my drift.

  • VOLDEMORT! VOLDEMORT! VOLDEMORT!

  • @mandy94 AHAHAHAHAHAHHA!XD

  • I cried for such a long period of time

It was dreadful that she never got to be with her true love :'(

  • Natalie Portman always seems to be the perfect fit for 1800 movies.

  • @towelboi123 thats keira knightley

  • bird nest hair

  • This is based on a true story!

  • I dont really like Keria.. but when I watched this film, I was SOOO amazed by her acting. Must have been a REALLY differcult role, and she was INCREDIBLE!!

  • @suzifluzi1 Me too- I hated her in Pirates because all she really did was smirk, pout and scream "Will" every so often- but she really did do a good job in this movie. :)

  • What a passionate trailer! I simply have to watch the film right now!

  • so sad... so true... so wonderful...

    love this movie.

  • I feel I hate man after watch this

    I hate this feeling

  • i would of done away with that woman myself, theres no way your gonna be screwing my husband and theres no way my husband would get away with it either.

  • @LittleMissClumbzie I fucking LOATHED the husband

I have NO IDEA how the Duchess remained so respectful and civil toward him

if it were me, I would have destroyed him. :( :( poor girl

  • @dorrinaexe1 ha same here...i guess it was their "belief" to respect the husband in that way even if he's being a complete dick face! man if that were me, i would have shot him and been on my merry way lmao

  • @LittleMissClumbzie lmaoo same here lol

  • The movie was really good but the ending was not the best. I was so sure georgiana and charles would get together. And just a heads up, life science was the worst science i ever had to endure but if memory serves me correct, its the males the determine the gender of the baby. All the persecution and the wrong that georgiana went through was so uneccessary because it was the dukes fault. I wouldnt have made it in the 18th century where todays knowledge did not exist. I wouldnt have made it

  • not the best of trailers tbh ... the films a whole lot sadder than it's portrayed here

  • this movie is so sad:( but so good!

  • i saw this movie a while ago, but i loved it! they have such pretty costumes and kiera is gorgeous. I felt bad for her though.

  • my favorite part of the movie is when the guards wouldnt open the door for the duke after he was heading back to London with out Gerogina. I was like AHHHH eff you dude even the people that work for you arent on your side

  • @LittleMissClumbzie I KNOW! I just saw it and that scene when she finds out she was sleeping with her husband and then they all have dinner together I was like WHAT THE HELL IS THAT BITCH DOING!

  • @SuperGhadeer1 Seriously!

  • I really like the look of this film and want to watch it, but it just seems sad and the kind of thing I could do without mayb when I'm old and grey and don't give a dam i'll waych it then

  • This is a very depressing movie. I felt so sorry for her. Her best friend is a slutbitch and it made me hate Ralph. And the guy she's in love with she can't have and has to give up the baby. Keira should've won for this movie. If you haven't seen this, rent it.

  • I'm currently studing Information Science at the university. Only 10% are girls but the majority in the club and union are girls. My conclusion: women will going sky high in carreer, not because of radical feminism but because they are starting to give a damn about building their own lives.

  • And since we all came from a woman

Got our name from a woman and our game from a woman

I wonder why we take from our women

Why we rape our women, do we hate our women?

I think it's time to kill for our women

Time to heal our women, be real to our women

    -2pac

  • @SaucisseMerguez horrible people!

  • @SaucisseMerguez Tu sei veramente un cazzone senza cervello!

Un ritardato che probabilmente non vede una donna da 100 anni!

Perchè non fai un favore all'umanità e non ti uccidi?

  • @zahidk1 ewww this has NOTHING to do with tupac lmao

  • @zahidk1 Its sad how the person that made that quote died so young. Only a true man would ever say that

  • "i love you in the way that i understand love" how romantic

  • THE CUNTESS!! LOL! JUST JOKING!

  • i am heartbroken!!!

  • teher are still woman at some parts of the world who are treated bad and have no rights.

  • yes, its true they were treated very bad they had no rights and they couldnt even chose what they wear!!! Georgiana Spencer, Marie Antoinette and Anne Boleyn are my favourite characters of women's history... also Anastasia Romanov

  • This really opened my eyes to how horribly women of those times were treated :( she truly was a hero. and yes im a feminist

  • Eugenii Onegin Meets Pirates of the Caribbean's Swan.

  • @LittleMissClumbzie Same here. And after Georgiana died, Beth MARRIED him!? WTF? Way to be a best friend!

  • @dizzy365 yeah she was beyond selfish...no way near a best friend..she was in it for herself and her kids...stupid cunt.

  • she looks like natiline portman (idk how to spell )

  • wow keira was soo beautiful!

  • Very good period film... to have to live with your husbands girlfriend, I couldn't imagine I felt so sorry for her the whole movie

  • @fab2177

It caused quite the scandal, also. Wives and mistresses were kept separate.

  • @silentsoliloquy82

so sad... but a dang good movie

  • @fab2177

    Indeed, I agree.

  • This was the most depressing movie I've ever seen! It was so sad. ):

  • Love it. I am so sick of these movie! i found this movie in webmovietube

  • Oooh it must be a good film, it's got ralph in it from wuthering heights <3 :')

  • @Theunknowndreams6 That's exactly what I thought when it first appeared on TV, ralph is HOT with a capital H!!!

  • So much hair on her head.... i wonder how it is downstairs? ^^

  • i loved the movie and admired keira... once more

  • Is this another movie for the famous topic of the Tudor family?

  • @isahanako nope its about the duchess of devonshire she was alive way after the tudors .... like around the time of the french revolution.

  • @isahanako It's not about the tudors, it's set in the Georgian era which is over 100 years later than the tudors.

  • The ending was not satisfying

  • Although I prefer Keira Knightley in Pirates of the Carribbean...i'll give this one a try I have yet to watch it.

  • another Rock Star

  • its eerie how much she speaks like diana.

  • This movie made me realize how awful these women were treated in those times! They had no rights or any authority to stand up for themselves. The woman Kiera played was probably one of the many women who had to go through something similar to this. Respect and idol these women, for they were stronger than we will ever be. Also remember to give thanks to women after her time, for they set the ground for us women today to be able to have rights they never had.

  • you are such a feminist-

  • @crashintomebaby2 Stop rambling and make me a sandwich... please.

  • @Felix0072 Unfunny misogynist is not funny.

  • @crashintomebaby2 What you say , about women being used, is true . But certainly not in the case Bess of Hardwick , the first Lady of Chatsworth house, and mother of , the first duke of Devonshire, She was married four times, the first time at 15, and she was a widow at 16. She was a very remarkable, and shrewd woman, in a very sexist time, Throught clever business deals, she became one of wealthiest and most powerful people in England, Second only to Elizabeth I, She answered to no man.

  • @crashintomebaby2 I salute, three of the greatest women ever, Queen Anne Boleyn, her daughter Elizabeth, and the Warrior Queen Boudicca, who didn't whore the Romans, like the slut Cleopatra, she took up her sword and fought them. Thus the image on my page.

  • @crashintomebaby2 Please don't use a movie as a source of knowledge of 18th century England's women's rights or anything else.

  • Georgiana was just as adulterous and in reality, her parents tried to dissuade her from marrying the Duke, but Georgiana insisted on it. Even then, the Duchess was a prodcut of her class and she knew what was expected of her then. She was no stranger ot a lot of these things and also, marriages in the upper class weren't based on love.

  • @crashintomebaby2 Yeah and maybe in the near future most men will be working for women.

  • @ct3gct3g Men have been working for women for years. Everything men do is to try and attract women. Women are the powerful ones.

  • @georginiou Just because they try to attract our attention does not hide the fact that they have belittled us, denied us rights to education, the vote and entry into professionalism for centuries. Please learn some history before you make sweeping statements based on one aspect of human nature.

  • @eidothea OK, fair enough. On the whole women have had it pretty bad, I'll give you that. And I suppose, even when men where being nice to women, it was often in a fashion that objectified them. I apologise if I offended you. My comments were not that well articulated.

  • @crashintomebaby2 What makes it sad is that Lady Diana went through the same fate as well, but in a more discrete and less dramatic manner. Until it was finally revealed of course. What makes it even more sad is that those two were actually related.

  • @crashintomebaby2 yes, the woman Keira played did go through all that you see in the movie. Georgaina was an incredible person, she was the first celebrity of her time, people mimicked her fashion sense and she also designed her own hats, gloves and dresses. she published poems, co-wrote plays and towards the end of her life she was studying geology and chemistry among many other talents and interests. she was a very clever woman but slightly naive and lonely.

  • @crashintomebaby2 Gosh I know what you mean! I've always been fascinated in history but I totally hated the society! In Britain, Greece, Rome...etc, women were only important because they're the vessel for the next generation, they were the inferior sex. I'm so happy that isn't the case now.

  • I live near the house where some of this film was made Kedleston Hall and the house is absolutely gorgeous. When I went they had an exhibition of the costumes as well and they looked truly amazing.

  • Keria Knightley is awesome!

  • It's a pretty predictable film but it's utterly heartbreaking.

  • @madhoyden Predictable? Not really. I believe they stayed close to her real life story, which is definitely not predictable.

  • The costumes in this movie are out of this world.

  • I visited Bath in autumn 1998.

  • It's hard to understand how beloved she was, while she had a terrible life.

  • @xGerdine I know. And the worst part is, her own mother sold her to the Duke, in a way. She convinced G that the Duke loved her just so her daughter would be a Duchess. She didn't want G to divorce the Duke, she wanted her to stay miserable just to be in power. G's family was crappy, except for her daughter Eliza.

  • @orlandogirl213 I know. But the Duke himself is also an asshole. Can't believe the things he did to her.
