CO2 is what aerobic life (including humans) breathes out . Both can lead to asphyxiation in high concentrations as they "crowd out" the oxygen in the air.

You can find it at the grocery store.

Dry ice is frozen carbon diokside,it's EXTREMLY cold (-110) and that's why you always need to wear gloves when touching it or you can get freeze burnt.Hot water and dry ice are a good combination to make a long lasting smoke,mostly used on halloween for haunted cauldrons.The smoke is completly harmless,its just carbon diokside back in the gas condition.Hope this helped.

That is a smoke bomb you can make yourself you can just find easy steps to make it.

I like to use potassium chlorate(KClO3), dye (blue,red,orange what comes to your mind) and some lactose.Mix these 3 ingredients and pack them into a tiny ball.Fire it and enjoy the smoke.

Actually water-based fog output is completely harmless. Read the MSDS sheet on it. You have a better chance of a "side-effect" from breathing in the C02 emissions i the dry ice produces, or that smoke stick- which would probably be a bad idea to use to fill a stadium..

err... Actually no.

All smoke from smoke machines comes out cold, you can't even feel it, it only rises because of it's molecular weight.

To make it heavy you have to cool it down before it gets outside of the machine, the atoms clump together thus making it heavy and thus making it cling to the floor

I had a fog machine it was a black one and it was an f 80-fogger it was 700watts with 10 meters of wired remote and after i got home i think my parents come home and about an hour or so later my mum got me to go on my bike somewhere to deliver something and when i come back it went all quiet and because we have a massive snooker room and then their it is a smoke machine setup for me but i dont live thrie any more and i dont have the fog machine any more.

Correct. But if to much carbon dioxide is taken in it will cause CO2 poisening because its a heavy gas that will drop and linger in your lungs. therfor to much will prevent you from in taking enough oxygen choking you to death.

Here's my question.. If you're using a fog machine - or even a hazer in a nice ballroom setting, where does this stuff evaporate to? Will the fog juice cling, build up and stain the walls? it has to go somewhere - it just doesn't disappear. this can be a liability issue that I never see addressed.

It will leave a residue on everything in the room. But you have smoke away around 5 litres of fog juice before you notice any. It's basically steam (with some parrafine) so it does harm electrical equipment, but not immidiatly after you push your controllerbutton.

there is never n e side effect from using smoke machines, only if you have shitty fluid,CRAPPY FLUID = CRAPPY SMELL, neve use a high quality smoke machine with bad fluid, always sepnd a little more to get get good fluid,

ALSO you sould try the fog chiller, makes a great layer of fog on the ground without using dry ice

commercial fog juice is usually glycol-based, not glycerine, although water and glycerine will work (just not as good as the glycol).

umm looks like someone needs a chemistry lesson. ok glycerine is the same as glycerol. glycerol is the chemical name for glycerine. ok now glycol is the chemical family that glycerol is in other things in this family include PEG (polyetholene glycol) which is used in paintballs also alot of anti ice fluids are in the glycol family.
