Very helpful presidential move towards fighting crisis. Hoping our new government here in the Philippines will have a program like this. I own a small business and I can not expand due to lack of financial and capital start up to hire some Web Designer and Programmer to do jobs for my clients.

I am talking about $2-5,000 dollars only to open up one segment and project to get rolling. I have not encounter any program like this in my community and city.

BANK LESSON- One Bank Federal Reserve with many franchise. Loans to customers are redeposited into the Bank as new assets and re-loaned the next day, increasing the money supply. Without a reserve (say only loan out 9 for every 10 in deposits) the amount of money can grow infinitely. With a ratio it is restricted. Now the Bank (Feds) raised the reserve rates the banks must hold and the money supply shrinks. Since the Fed is a private owned corporation this reserve rate is kept private.

I have a small architectural consulting business, this is awesome! I really appreciate all the President is doing. He can't solve all our problems and I do not expect him to. Maybe if they actually cared, they would remove some of the massive amount of legal crap you need. Look up the cost of renting a space, and the startup costs of any store, and it is crazy. Land tax is through the roof, so people can't afford to even stay open. It is the overhead that is killing small business. He is doing nothing to hlep that.

Great Speech! A least small business owners are being acknowledged. The only problem with the SBA is that it is the BANKS option to use them. Regions Bank will tell you "NO" without even consulting the SBA. The SBA will guarantee 90% of the banks exposure, yet the money has to come from the bank. If the banks stonewall us, what good is the SBA? The Government should start a "secret shopper" plan to see what the banks are doing. I'm happy with what he is doing, he is trying to stimulate the economy, FDR gave out loans and supported jobs to get us out of a depression, and obama is just following his footsteps to help us to not fall into a depression..which is good...
