  • @krydsewa - Are you REALLY serious? UTM being compared to us? Bwahahahahahahahahahahahahahahabahahahahahahha!!!! GTFOH!!! #CocaineIsAHELLOfADrug!!

  • Two years later and this show still stands out as one of the best of any HBCU. It doesn't take 300 plus musicians to produce an impressive surround sound. The sound throughout the show is simply massive to say the least.

  • Man you gotta shorten the title on this clip. It is hard as hell to find. Take the date out and put vs SU 09 or something. It would have over 11,000 hits.

  • Dude, this is a damn good show. Even if you don't like TnSU there is practically no denying this show. Why isn't every show this energetic from you guys? First time seeing this and I am impressed. To the dude that keeps saying Whitehaven is better. Anybody that knows me, knows I love the Haven; but executing well on 1 ballad, in 1 show doesn't put you on that level. The haven is a tremendous heavy hitter in the high school circuit, but be real.

  • yur camera has good sound quality an very clear nice vid

  • @djunior2011. Bruh, Clearly your ears are decieving you. Marching is alot more than cranking and hitting a bunch of high notes. If you loisten to the tone quality of TSU, and our musical selection. that's what makes them good. What is there not to like about them.

  • the percussion line is quite boring. sorry. it would be good if you guys were getting in your groove section. but your not. sorry.

  • @krydsewa

Just had to find something didn't you. This is like your 4th TSU clip making negative comments because TSU embarassed UTM on their own field in 2009...let it go!

I see you shut that no marching comment up as well...

  • @playboy03 you didnt embarrass us, you brought the level of musicality to an all time low with your blatting tubas and outta tune horn line. lol. embarrass. oh your funny. you should become a comedian along with your wanna be marching band!

  • @blakjustice30 Please stop with your foolish comments (missing a flow and sheer feeling of a groove----> LOL.....huh?????); You are killing me with your ignorance and flawed logic.......This show was executed rather well, every song sounded clean and crisp and the crowd enjoyed it. Please do us all a favor and google the many other hbcu marching bands that are not in the swac and I promise you will find several that can give any swac school serious competition.

  • I love TSU musicianship. They are one of the top bands for having great tight music. Great great great.

  • The key to an excellent band is to learn to recover from an on-field mistake. For the keen eye that pointed out the tubas' mishap, notice how well they recovered. Good bands will make mistakes but superior bands think fast and rectify. The Aristocrats are by far a highly competitive decades old excellent musical institution. From 1950's to the present, TSU continues to produce a trophy band. Many HBCU's have not established such a proven record of longevity and stellar accomplishment.

  • Wow check out 1:50 to 2:00....very unorganized at the 45 yard line

  • mannnnnnnnn im so impressed by this show i truely didnt kno they get down like that i had to watch the sho more than once ,,,much love TnSU

  • They INtro always Crunk

  • @playboy03 Just because it isnt a competition dosent mean you shuoldn,t look as good as you should look at a competition.

  • @900atl Good point, but Again, this show was there to entertain the crowd, and it did what it was suppose to do. I have yet to see a perfect performance, and for you point out stuff, in my opinion, was not necessary. But to each it's own, and if I came off harsh, I apologize!

  • @playboy03 thats all right i do the same some times.

  • tenn stae is not so bad on the field. They always sounded good to me thou. They like a smaller famu to me.

  • Bad pin wheels, Ugly floating Dimonds, NO life in the Drum Majors, Good dance routine. Other than those things it was good.

  • @900atl Well, if you're mad about the pin wheels, floating diamonds, lack of life...Scratch ya arse and get glad about it...

  • @900atl Well, if you're mad about the pin wheels, floating diamonds, lack of life...Scratch ya arse and get glad about it...Cause this was not a competition...

  • Excellent job as usual by TnSU. Not the biggest band and not the loudest band, but always a crisp, clean, great sound. Cassfl -- excellent quality recording. I wish all band clips were recorded with good video to do them proper justice.

  • this is nice but... i kinda wish the camera was on the OTHER side.

  • @Cassfl Great recording!

  • I nominate this show as the Show of The Year for the 2009 -2010 haft-time season. If anyone can, with all seriousness and objectivity, nominate a more complete and competitive show, please direct me to the proper video clip. The variety of music, the near perfect transition in different tempos and the consistent sound projection leads one to listen to this video clip with relentless repetition. Vintage HBCU performance! I see why in 1956 an NFL announcer called them The Aristocrats of Bands.

  • @aristocratify no one can if being real with it

  • @DDDWHATITDO TSU is like the New York Philharmonic of marching bands. On average, they give an overall excellent performance. Many fail to evaluate a band's comprehensive performance. Most will focus on size, (FAMU), or precision and unbalance brass power, (Southern). While overlooking the more balanced bands such as; The Aristocrats, Bethune or Norfolk State.

  • @aristocratify you are so right the only thing is that i should have commented earlier thank you

  • @aristocratify There is a high school that they had a field show, it wasnt a halftime show, it was for a national competition but they had a better sound & their ballad was perfect i say their show was way better than this

  • @djunior2011 graduate first please

  • @DDDWHATITDO dont worry i will next year hop off my balls are to crowded already

  • @djunior2011 Who is this high school that's out playing a college? Post it then young man? I have yet to see ANY high school, even the best high schools, straight up out play even the sorriest of college bands.

  • @playboy03 type in whitehaven ballad 2009 its the first video & the field show should be on the side they are killin tsu

  • @djunior2011

    Really? Whitehaven, interesting.

Do you know where Whitehaven's band director went to college? TSU. Whitehaven's modern day style is based off of TSU. Whitehaven is a good band, and they have their moments with a mature sound, but they are NO WHERE, realistically, on the level of TSU or ANY college band. This is coming from someone from Memphis, who teaches band in Memphis , and who also lives in walking distance from Whitehaven to listen to them daily. Nice try guy, but no!

  • @playboy03 i know he went to tsu but you cant tell me they dont sound better than some college bands but ok well then check out redan high school metro atlanta botb 2009

  • @djunior2011 just to let you kno man Whitehaven has nothing on TENN ST. This is coming from a alumni of Redan High School and a member of TENN ST band. You need to get your musiciality up sir. TSU band is mostly made up of both Redan High and Whitehaven High, and both incoming student become better when they get to TSU........stating facts bro.

  • @04AirForce dude i feel your opinion but thats just my opinion & my band director at lithonia high school went to tsu & im sorry but i DONT NOT LIKE TSU band cause they suck to me & alot alumni band members from lithonia up there too

  • @djunior2011 thats a double negative

  • @aristocratify sorry but check out that squad of tubas at the 1:50 mark on the 45 yard line

  • @aristocratify Very Tru!!!

  • Tennessee State's AOB has the best percussion sound out there. I have watch this video over and over because they sound SO GREAT! They perform extremely well and sound extremely well. 100% enjoyable!

  • I'm floored by the sound, the execution, song choice, the dance routine ideas, It was all slammin for real.......Lu Da Boom tho!!!!

  • EU Phones....KIlled that 5 Star bruh...

  • This is definitely one of the very best, if not the best sound of any HBCU for the 2009 haft-time season. It is remarkable how The Aristocrats consistently maintained a superb sound throughout. On top of that, this band displayed such an incredible variety of music and pagentry, all packed into one show. A diamond drill, an MJ figure, five star design, thriller during the TSU formation. WOW! I have never seen so much done in one show and with a kick butt mature sound to boot. Outstanding!

  • That's my Alma Mater and they did ABSOLUTELY great! Love the sound. T-T-T-S-S-S-U!

  • I love this video..but i must agree with others i really dont know what the sophisticated ladies were doing but i will be up there in january to tryout for the team and bring my own flavor..(hopefully)but i still luv you ladies.

  • wow! they had really good sound. i'm a fan of and i support all HBCUs.

  • WOW! I'm SU all the way, but TSU, what a good and powerful sound !!

  • Yeah this is a really young group and the sound progressed and the season went on.

  • bruh dat 5 star chick was rockin..those euphos were goin off..

  • that was fie especially the m.j. formation

  • Hey Boo I know u owt that somewhere kant quite make out where u r on this viedo.... Keep up the good work.... I will always Love U!!!!!

  • The TSU fans and critics are some of the toughest of all HBCU bands but when you witness the sight, sound, and sheer performance of this band, you can't help but be impressed. The Aristocrats struggle to maintain its band support simply because the TSU band staff refuses to inflate there size to that of FAMU. Sometimes size does matter but it should never trump hard work and quality musicianship. Pound for Pound, the Aristocrats never sit at the back of the bus, we drive the bus.

  • Well spoken most ol school Crats are really hard on the band.

  • @aristocratify thank you ...... there are many that feel like you im one of them. ts ts ts uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu

  • Being a fan of HBCU marching bands, I listen to a lot of clips of all the bands, FAMU, SU, JSU, Grambling, SCSU and others. But, I keep coming back to this clip because of the sound quality and musicianship of this small band that has such a powerful and clean sound. You guys should be proud of yourselves and don't let anybody belittle you...you are awesome!!!

  • GOOOOOOOOOTTTTTTT Dammnn yall look good

  • percision.......

    (i spell that right?)

  • i am one of the biggest fans of TSU but the sophi. ladies looked HORRIBLE!!!! i am sooooo disappointed in them. some of them were late with the moves, others just looked bad. the band on the other hand..... VERY GOOD!!! SO PROUD OF YOU!!!!

  • It is time for Mrs. Gentry to retire that is all. Get some fresh blood in there and it will fix itself.

  • What were the Sophisticated Ladis doind?!...lmao...

  • They have a very clean sound. This is coming from a person who in a marching band for 5 years.

  • ALRIGHT GO TSU!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Nice show TnSU. Not sure about that TnSU out playing SU though.

  • Southern, that was payback for 1984. Aristocrats of old, you know what I'm talking about. Thank you Jesus! God is good!

  • What i like about TSU majorettes is that they are naturally pretty girls. They don't go for the weaves and stripper ponytails and ghetto fab persona looks that a lot of dancelines do. However, the choreography is substandard for collegiate levels. SU dolls are professionals period. Jsettes are trendsetters....sophisticated ladies just need a dose of reality and a new dance coordinator....and lastly...lose the anouncer..please!!!!!!!!!!

  • majorettes were wack

  • LOL.

  • As a former Aristocrat `89-'93, it's good to see kids not only uphold good musicianship but surpassing the foundation that was already laid down. Great sound.

  • gotta love the mumford fans they are like no other

  • Nice sound and show. But still love my SU.

  • Good Job Aristocrat. And I am with gsmeek80, I could smack all yall for not having this at A&M or Memphis. Its been there all alone, just need to sell it to us!

  • YOU ARE SOOOOOOO RIGHT

  • they must have had some people missin from show tuba section, but other than that great show. the stick man was great creativity.

  • Annoying announcer, but great show.

  • They sound good!!!!

  • They need and new announcer. Great show though

  • The be announcer that TSU had was the late Professor Kirk.

  • Yeah Prof Kirk was a beast on the mic.

  • I didn't go to TSU, but I have to say yall looked and sounded really good!

  • Incredible sound! They sound Incredible! Southern, get with it!

  • su version of ther goes my baby is beter but i do lik how they played it

  • Great sound and show! TSU's sound quality is on another level. They sound AMAZING as usual.

  • Awesome show Crats. I should personally smack each and every one of you for not bringing this intesity in Memphis last week....LOL. See you in ATL.

  • lol the bad thing about it this show was for memphis but our asshole band directors changed it at the last minute lol but it was a great show thanx

  • Nice sound on field but the drill was off. A whole squad of tubas messed up and some squad in the upper right part in the floating diamonds acted like they didnt know the field show at all.

  • I'm so proud!!!!!!!!!!

  • Tn. State is an excellent band. Southern and TSU have always respected each other. The reality is that TSU did an excellent job and so did Southern. They did what they both do. No need to discredit one to lift up the other. Two of the best bands black or white in the country. Great show TSU and Southern's sound is a "beast" this year. Their show was A+ too. Great job guys.

  • Comment removed

  • A+ Show.

  • Can someone place stand footage on here? And the person who said something bout intonation needs to be hit. TSU intonation. Naw, Southern intonation. Two heart trombone part. Rihanna song, sweet escape french horn part. Do what you want tuba part. And I heard Soutthern didn't play until the fifth

  • If anybody has any footage of the stands post please, thanks. And the person talking bout intonation needs to be hit. What marching band doesn't have intonation. Southern is bout to the worst. Ive never seen any comments about southern being out of turn on here or marching sport. They got a hundred clips everyone has intonation problems. Two hearts the trombones, that rihanna song, horrible. Love saw it horrible. Sweet escape, french horn line. Tubas do what you want horrible. And you said tsu

  • SHOW YOU RIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!

  • BTONES aint no joke dis year. Dey toppin da 06 squad,

  • Now this is music. SU is not on their level.I"m not a TSU fan but I know music when I hear it. These cats can straight out play. No overblowing just one of the cleanest bands out here.Good job TSU

  • LMAO u must not have been to this game because they are making u look like a flat out liar. Their baritones, trombones, and tubas have serious problems with intonation (i think they were trying to hard) and trumpets and fhorns aren't a factor but to each his own

  • Hall of Fame Video Right HERE!!!!!

  • great job TNSU!!!!

  • Great Show CRATS!!!!

  • 4 sho

  • Love it!

  • Great show Tenn State, Thanks for this video!

  • its ncie to have SU/TNSU seeing each other regularly now. two bands at the opposite ends of the spectrum...and the best at what they do
