Even though, chinese is written in Hanzi, the way you remember a character's pronunciation is by visualizing the spelling. With inconsistencies in English and learning 2 romanizations (pinyin for typing) I only see confusion in the long run. I mean, come on! one doesn't begin learning French by spelling the words according English rules.
while I understand the justification for using Englishbased romanization, I don't see too many benefits to it. Chinese pinyin dictionaries are written in pinyin. One of the most popular methods, is to type in pinyin, (which computer converts to chinese characters). These courses were made for people that could HEAR. Thus, hearing the word and be able to rewind it, I just don't see how some person would be confused by the proper pinyin spelling which he will eventually have to learn.
Its more intended for English speakers learning mandarin, and because if you give an english speaker the original pinyin you might confuse him in pronounciation. At least thats what i think :/

This is ok if you only lesson. But if you plan on learning Chinese do not watch there made up spellings of things.

this lessons are good, but one thing i don't like... the pinyin... it is veery false...
i think before learing chinese, its important to learn the pronounciations of pinyin.
if you want to learn chinese, take a look at the channal of ChineseLearn .
he has very good videos. and he goes throught the pronounciation of each pinyin-character and even through the writing of the chinese character.

I have never seen this pinyin before what is it? Why you don't use the standard pinyin - the one that Chinese people use?
