@DMullins55 - Of course I have no problem with reading objective history books that have passed through several academic reviews and scrutiny; however I do have a problem with a work like Aigyptiaca which is now lost. He later changed the name of Osarsiph to Moses, and even then, it is the JEWISH historian Josephus who holds the quotes from the lost Augyptiaca and who tries to draw parallels between the Torah and the work.

It is Josephus that the fundamentalists are quoting, not Manetho, because he was the one who basically conjured up the idea that the Hyskos are the Jews and he is the person through whom we know about the Aigyptiaca.

The only reason that it is harder to make such a video about the Qur'an is that it isn't a book of stories like the Bible, but a stream of consciousness basically outlining laws and the importance of "submission and faith in Allah".
Moses 'seems to never existed' because the Egyptians only recorded history that made them look superior and sophisticated. Same did everyone including everyone from the the Romans all the way to Stalin and so on and so forth.

There is no direct evidence that Moses existed, there have been theories about how he had done it. People saying he just didn't exist due to lack of evidence is both arrogant and foolish, because although there might not be any 'hard' evidence proving his existence, the reason there is no evidence is valid.

People have a mental need for hope and some control over their lives. If life gets to hard, for to long, you will start to have a mental break down. To much mental stess for to long and your immune system will break down and then will go your body will be in trouble. So people's beliefs and religions can be so goofy, but it doesn't matter. Hebrew doesn't have a definitive meaning for time. A day in Hebrew can mean an era. A year could mean a moon. "A time" is what it means. A day can be a few million years. The creation timeline, follows the evolutionary theory: Water, then earth, then fish and then birds and then mammals. How many animals and fruits and vegetables have we lost? thousands! Their explanation for the flood is a joke too, there are over 500 flood stories from all cultures around the world including isolated ones, and these coupled with geological evidence of a worldwide flood means the Bible is on to something. I don't know many people who actually believe in most of the Old Testament now. The New Testament actually holds merit to some degree, but the Old is just ridiculous. I'm not trying to be an asshole or anything, I just like stirring the pot and making people think.

Time and Time again many minds greater than Penn and Teller have tried to tear down the bible with no success. There is a reason for that. First the bible is proved to be correct by history and archeology over and over again. Secondly the bible has scientific facts in it that were before the knowledge of the time it is written, for instance the bible tells the world was round about 1900 years before this was discovered by science.

@DMullins55 - Of course I have no problem with reading objective history books that have passed through several academic reviews and scrutiny; however I do have a problem with a work like Aigyptiaca which is now lost. He later changed the name of Osarsiph to Moses, and even then, it is the JEWISH historian Josephus who holds the quotes from the lost Augyptiaca and who tries to draw parallels between the Torah and the work.

@HalfLifeFan91 - Manetho's story does not even mention the Jews, and it would have been near impossible for him given that the Greek version of the Torah was not available at the time. It is Josephus that the fundamentalists are quoting, not Manetho, because he was the one who basically conjured up the idea that the Hyskos are the Jews and he is the person through whom we know about the Aigyptiaca.

@brodybear83 - Not at all, in fact, if you would ACTUALLY READ the Qur'an, it constantly repeats many of the claims made in this video and the stories of what it regards as "messengers" (so Noah, Lot, Moses, Jesus etc.)
The only reason that it is harder to make such a video about the Qur'an is that it isn't a book of stories like the Bible, but a stream of consciousness basically outlining laws and the importance of "submission and faith in Allah".

There is no direct evidence that Moses existed, there have been theories about how he had done it. People have a mental need for hope and some control over their lives. If life gets to hard, for to long, you will start to have a mental break down. To much mental stess for to long and your immune system will break down and then will go your body will be in trouble. So people's beliefs and religions can be so goofy, but it doesn't matter. It doesn't have to but someone wrote a 1,000 page book (actually over 10,000 pages if you include all apocrypha, psuedo-works), which psuedo doesn't really count because its speculated "scientifically" to be fictious....

Hebrew doesn't have a definitive meaning for time. A day in Hebrew can mean an era. A year could mean a moon. "A time" is what it means. A day can be a few million years. The creation timeline, follows the evolutionary theory: Water, then earth, then fish and then birds and then mammals. How many animals and fruits and vegetables have we lost? thousands! I bet, there isn't enough time for the diversity to evolve. Just wait. 700 billion years will soon be the number = 7 days.

As a native Hebrew speaker I can say that in the normal sense - a day is a day. Poetically speaking though, like in any language, a day can mean more than a day.

Well, I guess I should've asserted that the Genesis account was a poem to begin with...thats what I remembered.
Its interesting that many of the irate evolutionists haven't replied to me at all.
I can't help but see how perfect nature is in many ways and too many good mutations are hard for me to believe. We don't see many good mutations or adaptions these days.
I'm open to the idea of a genius God evolving it all too.
I'm just amazed at our universe.

I didn't mean it was written as a poem. Far from it. What I meant was that when one says "day" it would normally mean a single day, but it could mean more if put in a correct context. I didn't necessarily imply that the bible was being poetic (far from it actually, and sadly).
One reason you have "irate" responses, or lack thereof, is because you call them "evolutionists" when that term is honestly stupid. Evolution has proof, therefore it can't and shouldn't be considered to be a religion.

The interesting thing about the "multiple messiahs" problem is that they all come from a region that for centuries specialized in duping followers with man made illusions.
Some people made a rich living inventing new ways for their employers to trick the masses.
A metal horse that drinks from your hands and temple doors that "magically" open are much harder illusions than the parlor trickery of walking on water and turning water to wine.

They probably bash the Bible instead of the Quran because there are hundreds of millions of Christians in America, whereas Muslims are a tiny minority already subjected to hatred and discrimination, and there are plenty of people on television already who openly bash Islam. This video is insightful. Although I don't belive in Christianity, I am completely ok with people being Christians, as it is not my place to tell them what they can/can't believe. I wish there were others that had the same attitude towards me. Then maybe we can all be happy. PS - my best friend is gay, and denying him the right to love is sad =( but he is happy with who he is. I have heard the Bible says God didn't make mistakes, so he made my friend just perfect =) a loving, kind person xxx

No, your friend's grandparents created his parents, and his great-grandparents created his grandparents, so on and so forth. The explanation is not whether a person is gay, it's just science, everyone was created by their parents. God doesn't just come down from heaven and poop an egg out to create your friend, you or me, does he? I don't believe in god in general, hence why I said god didn't create your friend.

This is the generally approved scientific explanation of how life became as it is today. In the beginning, there was a gathering of the required elements in the same place and most probably it was struck by an electical burst (hence, the fact that without electricity our nerves would not work). There formed the first organism, a cell. The cell exhibited reproductory capabilities and it reproduced.

Correcting myself. The first organism is thought to have been a cell nucleus.
Made out of special strands containing biological info for an individual's stucture, something happened to some of the strands in an individual and it's behavioural pattern changed. It could still reproduce and from this individual a new generation of organisms came to existence, AKA mutation. In millions of years and millions of DNA-strand mutations more complex beings started to form and adapt, made out of cells.
