Del Shannon could, We would love to hear another artist that recorded songs with the range he had, most importantly, he had feelings, some call it soul, but you will always know his voice when you hear him. @Vaderduder Sure, it's easy to poke fun at people 47 years after the fact. This concert was broadcast from the village of Laren in The Netherlands in January 1965. Most of the people in the audience had never seen an American artist, let alone be overwhelmed by the Big O. Remember: this was AFTER fans had dived into Amsterdam canals when the Beatles visited in June '64 and AFTER the Kurhaus Scheveningen was demolished when the Stones played there in August '64. Different place, different people.

My dad was saying he took heat quite a bit for his sad songs but my dads response to that was he didn't have an easy life.... he's talented and I appreciate his contribution to music :-)
