The worst thing about WBC isn't that they hold up signs saying "God hates fags". And it isn't that they protest the funerals of soldiers fighting in the Middle East. And it's not even the fact that they are happy for 9/11. It's the fact that they fucking teach their kids to be hateful, bigoted adults.

Hey lllArrow71, I think Westboro is the most insane religous cult, although all religions in my eyes are cults, wake up god is like santa, he does not exsist you fool...go back to the stone age you heathens...
@rihannawoozenrock No they do believe in God, but they are just plain stupid! They know nothing about what the The Word of God is saying meaning and they think that they are not doing wrong when God is very ashamed of them for this because he loves all of his children.
@PsychoBurgundy3 Fight them on their level. Through pure psychology. Expose them. Make them feel stupid about themselves. They pretend they stand above it, but don't let that fool you.
I'm against inflicting any physical harm. If they start physically harming others, then sure, harm them back. But they're preaching doctrines, beliefs. Just disprove and expose how wrong and bad they are.
@PsychoBurgundy3 I don't shove it down anybody's throats or try to make people believe. I just try not to back down when people try to put me or my religion down. Unlike many people in this country, I have a backbone. But, I'm with ya, people don't need to have anything shoved in their faces when they are trying to just live their lives.
@verseoners They don't win debates they just repeating "God hates fags". Their opinions don't change and they are some of the must ignorant, (and under educated) people on Earth.
@verseoners "win their debates" ? Huh ? Can you please show me a "debate" where any of them came out ahead, when debating a rational intelligent normal healthy person?
I feel so sorry for those little ones, those poor kids having to be carted around and used as hate speech monsters. The little kids should have signs that say "my parents act like losers" or "god hates my parents"
atleast he follows the book most christians dont follow the book they follow the state that says u can only speak about certain verses.what he says is all in the bible..if you say that freds evil then your saying gods evil...the bible is full of hate theyre just saying whats in that book.
Religion should not coincide with the government. Nothing wrong with politicians having a religion (which they only use to sway christians), but the rest of the issues are correct.
Religion was created to control the masses. Many years ago a king of a large empire that could have rebelled at anytime wrote the bible to make sure that the people followed certain rules and behaved themselves. There is no god. Science and coincidence made this world. Religious people are just people who are scared of death and need the thought of "heaven" to comfort them even though we all know there is no such thing.
@OverTheTop94 my opinion is there is a god, and I know for a fact I don't need a heaven to comfort me, and I'm not scared of much of anything including death. So coming from a christian, I can tell you your opinion is wrong since it's about christians.
@vachamps ok, but picture that there was no religion, nobody understood death, nobody knew anything about it or what it was. This instinctively causes fear, when humans don't under stand something big, they instinctively fear it. This is why children are afraid of the dark, they don't understand it and 1000000000 things are running through their minds about what it could be or what's in it. So if nobody knew what death was they'd be scared. As you would be without religion.
@OverTheTop94...then everyone would fear death, without religion I would just be a different person. I still worry about death, as I think everyone does because I can't talk to people on the other side and allow them to comfort me. But because of my faith I know that I'm taken care of so I can accept it rather than worry about and be scared of it. I understand what you're saying and see your point but understanding something doesn't always mean it eliminates fear.
@vachamps Exactly, people like me, who believe the world was made by science and coincidence who have accepted death, and feel that when you're dead, nobody knows what it feels like but we know what happens to you. I know what you're saying but what my original point was that that the reason religion has stayed on this long is because its a comforting thought and makes people fear it less. I wish I believed in heaven, it is, no doubt, a comforting thought! It just doesn't make sense in my eyes.
@OverTheTop94...that's fine if you believe that, my point is there are worse evils in the world, why fight with people who are going to do what's right? Who cares what their reasoning is, it's not right to put them down and basically say they're spineless and scared. I'm obviously not, I'm standing up for what I believe in and I'm doing it in a way that shouldn't offend anyone. The WBC are a common evil because they offend just about everyone.
@OverTheTop94 Wtf do you mean no one knows what death is?
It's when your heart, brain, and other vitals stop working and your consciousness ceases to exist.
What happens then? Simple, all your thoughts you ever had and memories of people/places/things ceases to exist instantly forever. You don't feel anything because you no longer consciously exist! There is no mystery behind it.
@TrenchCoatMafia33 I agree with that point though thats what i'm saying, and nobody can explain the feeling, everybody knows what death is, nobody knows how it feels is what i was meant to say.
People, there is no use reasoning with these religious people. They could say that their god made the sky green, even though you can clearly see it's blue, and prove it's blue by simply looking at it. They will still claim it's green.
@a1mint...I'm going to be a little bit on your side, I agree tax breaks shouldn't go to religion classes and things like that. But when our government tells children they can't pray in school, wear a cross, won't let people have private bible studies, and promotes hinduism and muslim into schools for students to study then it's hard for me to say the worst thing they are doing is cutting churches tax breaks.
@vachamps I'm just as much against Hinduism, Muslim-ism / Islam, in schools as any other religion.
If people want to hold private bible classes, it would have to be outside of core school hours, and off the premises. Schools are for learning, not indoctrination.
@a1mint yeah, and there are almost no "Bible Classes" in school anymore. But there are hundreds of schools teaching children the Muslim religion as a part of their core curriculum, and I'm talking about bible studies in homes being ruled unconstitutional because other people see them happening and take offense. That is a real case, and has happened. So, until things are on an even playing ground for all citizens I don't see any problem with Christians getting a break or two.
@a1mint....there's almost no catholic schools, at least where I'm from. I'm not distorting anything. I see christians having to back down or give up all the time. So if they get a break once in awhile I see no problem with it. I know public schools don't teach it. Look, all I've been saying from the beginning is there are a lot worse things and a lot worse people in the world then Christians, except these WBC people. So why are you so hostile toward us, go after the real evil in the world.
@vachamps In in Ontario, Canada. There are plenty of Catholic schools here. Not sure the numbers, but I'd peg it near 50%, which is just flat out ridiculous. It's wrong. It's incorrect. It's unfair. It's unjust.
@a1mint...it's not like that where Im from. I get where you're coming from, but my gov't is putting religion down so I can't say I disagree with them getting help. But at the rate I can see where it could get on your nerves.
@a1mint over the last decade or so teachers have been fired for refusing to take off a cross, students expelled for praying, people have been forced to stop private bible classes, a soldier was court marshaled for saying, MAY GOD BLESS YOUR FAMILY while handing them a folded flag even though it was requested, and the examples go on and on and on. The government has taken the separation of church and state to ridiculous level now.
@vachamps If that was a public school, and the teacher refuse the take off a cross off the wall, then yes, that teacher should be removed for not keeping things secular as it should. The problem is that when you give creationists an inch, it'll escalate into more.
Bible class doesn't belong in a public school either, period.
For "god" there is no evidence.
We can not allow the religious to deteriorate the separation of state and church, sorry.
@a1mint...not off the wall buddy, off her necklace! And I can live with separation of church and state. But reread my last comment. Soldiers can't mention God to a grieving family, students can't bless their lunch, bible classes in people's homes being stopped. I've been saying the same thing this whole time, we aren't asking for breaks, just asking for equality!
@vachamps What soldiers say to their family, is a private matter. Do you have any credible references to an article stating how a soldier was restricted this way what he could say to his family?
What a student does with his lunch, isn't controlled either.
You're just making up silly stuff out of desperation I think.
@a1mint no sir, these are true. Parents complained to the school board that it wasn't fair that their child had to look at this kid praying so the school board warned the kid, he did it again and was punished. My mom works for a local school system, a school administrator was told they couldn't wear a cross necklace last year because it was offensive. These are two that I have seen with my eyes, the other's I got from a lecture a few years ago, the guy showed the articles.
@a1mint Weasel tactics? Not sure what that means, all I've done this whole time is speak the truth. You called me a liar, I proved it to you. I'm not asking you to believe in anything, but something is wrong when people can't openly worship or pray. If they take away those freedoms, some of your freedoms are next on the chopping block
@vachamps Weasel tactics meaning inching religious views into a public school. A public school is to kept clear from any indoctrination attempts, no matter how subtle, including trying to get kids curious about it.
Last time I called someone a liar, was in a video to a guy selling fraudulent HHO parts for personal gain, though denying things like natural laws and not recognizing science. In this video, I don't recall calling you a liar.
@a1mint Ok, you questioned if I was telling the truth. Those students were praying, not preaching, not trying to recruit for a bible class...the teacher wearing a necklace! Come on dude, these aren't malicious attempts to change people's way of thinking, they are students doing what they think is right, and have been taught by their parents for years that they need to do. Now you're being unreasonable
@vachamps I don't know the specifics on this particular situation, but I'm sure there is much more to this story. Do you have any credible details about this? That means not sourced from a church, religious blog, science-for-you (= fake), site?
@a1mint yeah, my mom works for a public school system, a faculty member was told to hide her cross or face consequences. That one is one I have been around! I'm not gonna argue with you over how real a website's stories are. Open your eyes. This has gotten so far off topic it's stupid. I've said it again and again and you know I'm right, while christians are picked on and ganged up on, I'm not going to feel bad for others that think it's unfair that they do get a break.
@vachamps I agree that that cross had to be removed. The school is no place to start introducing religious propaganda artifacts for the purpose of weaseling in religious views.
There are many religions out there, and not keeping all religion out, means that it becomes a hot bed for all the religion flavors out there.
@a1mint...wow, so talkin to you is completely unreasonable if you don't think firing someone for a necklace is completely unfair. If they aren't forcing their views it's not an invasion of privacy. I can't believe you agree with firing someone for wearing a cross necklace.
@vachamps im.. ah... im not sure he said anything about a necklace. but i agree- he is being quie unreasonable about demolising sunday schools and religious motivations. after all, if we didnt have religious motivations, then he would say murder is correct!
@trandomphatguy I'm against indoctrinating innocent little children that will then look over their shoulder the rest of their lives thinking a "god" spies on them behind there backs 24/7/365.
And puhlease, you church freaks do not have any ownership on morals! Morals is a normal natural human value. Humans need other humans, we look out for each other automatically, except for the immoral ones.
But to suggest that without religion people would be murders is flat out arrogant - typical Christian
@a1mint try again, dude. i'm not a chrsistian. i just dont see what the problem is with letting people practise their faith. yes, they do not need tax-free buildings-no, they should not have zero buildings. politics should not be confused with religion, but politicians should be allowed to have one.
@EveryDayALittleDeath i was looking through his comments, and i couldn't find any references to crosses, is what i was saying. i'm not saying it wasn't there, i'm just saying i couldnt find it, and without that part, the argument pushed by vachamps in his comment was... kinda pointless.
oh, and looking at your fist comment, it dosen't seem amint1 is referring to any christian other than those who try to make christianity public, like crosses in public schools or quran-burning.
@trandomphatguy I said several times that librarian was fired because she refused to take off a necklace with a cross. That was the basis for that horrible argument, I just couldn't believe he was so against religion that he wasn't ok with students praying at school or a teacher wearing a necklace. I wasn't pushing religion just defending it.
@vachamps neither am i being predjudiced towards religion. being religious myself (not a christian, but still). i'm simply saying, he has a point. the catholic church is one of the best-paid churches in the world, yet their buildings are tax-free, yet i can understand there should be buildings dedicated to faith. similarly, praying in schools should not be banned- neither should it be mandatory.
@vachamps I told you, I resist Christians and any other religious people from weaseling their delusional bullshit in places where it doesn't belong. I'll be reasonable or "unreasonable" as I see fit. You will *NOT* creep your crap into MY kid's school. p e r i o d !
@vachamps Religion is off limits, period ! What is important to teach are things like reality, like evolution, backed by evidence, how the world came to be, how humans spawned from earlier ape like forms 200,000 years ago, fossils, science, laws of nature, theories, hypothesis, biology, math, all that stuff.
Creationism has absolutely no place because it is absolutely absurd !
@a1mint...Haha...and the Big Bang theory makes sense? Whatever bro, this argument aint happening. I couldn't care less about what you teach in schools. I've not disagreed with that...the teacher wasn't teaching religion, she was wearing a necklace. Get it right.
@vachamps Just because we can't fully explain the big bang theory, even though there are some plausible answers mind you, does not validate some pathetic idiotic set of absurd tales from the bronze age.
As for the necklace, I don't know the details for that. I do think it's inappropriate to hang a mythical naked dead body character nailed to a cross. It's disgusting.
@a1mint...as for your naked dead character cross thing, for all you know it was a small silver cross. Nothing else. Ill let you believe what you want. I'm not wasting anymore time on someone that's refuses to listen to basic logic.
@a1mint Crosses are not the same thing as crucifixes. I know this, and I am nowhere near a Christian. Some crosses worn as jewlery are actually quite pretty. My friend has a collection of cross necklaces that she wears because they're pretty. She's not Christian at all. She just likes the way they look. She would never wear a crucifix though, because you're right about the dead body thing.
@a1mint you can call it whatever you want buddy...noone is creaping anything anywhere. This has gone way too far bcuz your focusing on points that make no sense. I've not once said there should be religion classes, just that people of religion shouldn't be forced to hide it.
@vachamps Sure you're creeping crap in. Crosses, praying, propaganda, weaseling your way through. Making excuses how teachers that happen to be religious to express their religion, and hence propaganda, to the kids. It's inappropriate, because the crap they believe is proven to be absolutely and entirely false.
@a1mint believe what you want buddy. I'll let you. You're not changin my mind and I'm obviously not changin yours. THis conversation is a waste of time. Just hope that they don't come after your freedom next.
@vachamps End of day, whether you like it or not, your religions is absolutely absurdly pathetic to the core. Nothing but a bunch of delusions and superstitions. My freedom isn't at issue at all here. What is at issue, is your delusional religion.
@a1mint...believe what you want man. That's fine. I'm an understanding person, that has the right morals, and would never tell someone the things they built their life on are absurd and pathetic for the simple fact that it's disrespectful, especially to someone I've never met. And at the end of the day, my reasoning for being that kind of person doesn't matter.
@vachamps I don't expect you to listen to reasoning or to realize how your religion is utterly full of shit. Why would you be any different? I've argued with people that are lost and stuck in a set of beliefs for years. None of them have ever admitted to anything at all. Obviously, it's a mental illness. No amount or type of information will change you mind on anything. You'll distort reality to maintain your warped view of how things work.
@a1mint...whatever dude, I haven't distorted anything this whole conversation, never even quoted a verse. You've changed this conversation a few hundred times to have it suit you. That's fine, once again, believe what you want, I won't try to change it. As far as a mental illness, well I'm a dean's list student at one of the best colleges in the country, and we stick to those beliefs based on faith. You can't explain a lot of scientific theories but still believe they are overall true.
@a1mint...ok, you need a hobby. Haha...all you've done is try to fight religion rather than what I've been saying. That's cool tho, enjoy your life. I'm not weaseling anything. Haha...you're cracking me up. I haven't once tried to pass my religion off in this whole ridiculous conversation. You've pushed this so far off subject it's stupid.
@vachamps You've suggested that wearing and hanging on the wall religious artifacts, and praying all over the place, ought to be ok in a public school. Your weaseling hasn't worked.
@a1mint...Nope, just said the necklace and individuals being able to pray should be a personal choice for the individual. That's not weaseling if it has been an accepted practice for centuries, it would be weaseling if it hadn't been for so long. You've reverted to the elementary school argument of "Well, your idea is stupid." So this conversation has been pointless for awhile now.
@vachamps You can do that praying outside our public school. Keep religion OUT of public schools is all. I'm just making damn well sure you don't weasel some excuse by this.
@a1mint No! Not a chance, public school means anybody...that includes christians. I haven't tried to weasel anything this whole conversation. I'm yet to give an excuse either. It's not hurting a soul. I bless my food at every meal. Maybe in Canada you hide yourself and who you are to keep from offending others, in the US, me and probably more than half my friends say a blessing before every meal, and sometimes that means infront of friends of ours that we know aren't religious.
@a1mint how is that weaseling? seperation of church and state means as far as policies and teachings go. How is it hurting anyone? I'm done with this. If you want to keep talking message me, but right now I think you just want attention. This has gone too far, and you're being ridiculous.
@vachamps I'm just making damn well sure that you understand perfectly well and perfectly clearly that in this day and age you no longer can get away with indoctrination of others. The walls are closing in on you religious folks and you'll loose your influence year after year. You loose ground every day and soon will be a fringe group.
@a1mint I don't want any crap in my kids school, no Santa or the easter bunny. just teaching period. If my kids can't have Jesus they Santa shouldn't be allowed either. My kids have gotten in trouble for not wanting to write to Santa by their school, which isn't right.
@a1mint Come on, wearing a little cross around your neck is hardly "weaseling in religious veiws." And what about people who wear these symbols for reasons other than religion? My best friend thinks crosses are beautiful and wears cross necklaces, but she's not Christian in the least. I don't beleive in the religious part of Judaism, but ethnically I'm Jewish, and I wear Star-Of-David earrings from time to time, because I'm proud of where I came from. Should I have to stop wearing them?
@EveryDayALittleDeath Hanging a cross on the wall to lure children into asking questions about it, helps religiously motivated teachers introduce discussions to make them think the bible stories are reasonable, so that later a more serious religious body can build on that. It's called indoctrinating, conditioning, prepping.
It's not about a cross on your shoulder, it's about placing religious artifacts strategically as a beacon to suck in the curious, and gullible, naturally. Not in my school !
@a1mint You missunderstood me, I was defending the teacher who was told she couldn't wear a cross necklace at school or she would be fired. The crosses I've seen in jewlery are ussually rather small, or they could compromise and she could hide the cross under her shirt. I totally agree with you that there should be no crosses or religious paintings or anything said over the loudspeaker daily that has anything to do with religion. Religion does not belong in public school. Period
@EveryDayALittleDeath I think wearing jewelry that shows a cross is ok and does not cross the line. What you wear on you is an expression of something personal. Slapping a cross onto a public building is different. There it is like statement that the cross has significance that the institution stands behind.
I guess we agree. But beware of the weasels that try to sneak their little crap like ID into libraries and such.
Or librarians that place ID books in the science section for instance.
@a1mint you hypocrite, you went off on me for days about that lady wearing a cross, now you believe the jewelry I was talking about is ok? Ha...at least you've proven you aren't heartless after all. Congrats.
@a1mint...not with me, we fought about that for hours on end. Just look at the top rated comments, that's what you said after I told you it was a necklace.
@vachamps I thought I was clear on this. I'm against institutions like schools displaying religious artifacts, but to not restrict what artifacts people might wear, within reason.
@vachamps my bad, it wouldnt let me post the links. Look at the one showing a teacher's aide on one year probation, and the one where 12 students were suspended.
@BlackLoveBlackPride Shut the fuck up and learn how to spell you nigger ape! If you don't fucking like it then don't fucking read it! I hate people who think we should disable comments just because they don't like what they see. ChristFags!
I know what the bible says weather it's true or not i can't say,but i know what it says good enough to tell you that by standing out there with those signs doing what your doing, your understanding of the bible and what salvation is, is in error....what you are saying by doing that is,you have no understanding of what Christ did with sin on the cross!...not a clue...supposedly,he took them ALL away never to be seen again leaving only one sin...Unbelief! Wake up, don't be fools!
Remember,Jesus said if your guilty of the least of sins, your guilty of all of the...no big ones..no little ones....only belief brings salvation and is a free gift that can't be earned right? RIGHT? that according to the bible and if it's true...one sin left since the cross, and that's unbelief..if your dead in your sin of unbelief, what does it matter if your homosexual? it doesn't matter, your not saved..if your not going to heaven anyway what does it matter what your flesh is doing?

Religion was created to control the masses. Many years ago a king of a large empire that could have rebelled at anytime wrote the bible to make sure that the people followed certain rules and behaved themselves. There is no god. Science and coincidence made this world. Religious people are just people who are scared of death and need the thought of "heaven" to comfort them even though we all know there is no such thing.
OverTheTop94 5 months ago
@OverTheTop94...you know that for a fact huh?
vachamps 4 months ago
@vachamps thats my opinion, accept it or fuck off :)
OverTheTop94 4 months ago
@OverTheTop94 my opinion is there is a god, and I know for a fact I don't need a heaven to comfort me, and I'm not scared of much of anything including death. So coming from a christian, I can tell you your opinion is wrong since it's about christians.
vachamps 4 months ago
@vachamps ok, but picture that there was no religion, nobody understood death, nobody knew anything about it or what it was. This instinctively causes fear, when humans don't under stand something big, they instinctively fear it. This is why children are afraid of the dark, they don't understand it and 1000000000 things are running through their minds about what it could be or what's in it. So if nobody knew what death was they'd be scared. As you would be without religion.
OverTheTop94 4 months ago
@OverTheTop94...then everyone would fear death, without religion I would just be a different person. I still worry about death, as I think everyone does because I can't talk to people on the other side and allow them to comfort me. But because of my faith I know that I'm taken care of so I can accept it rather than worry about and be scared of it. I understand what you're saying and see your point but understanding something doesn't always mean it eliminates fear.
vachamps 4 months ago
@vachamps Exactly, people like me, who believe the world was made by science and coincidence who have accepted death, and feel that when you're dead, nobody knows what it feels like but we know what happens to you. I know what you're saying but what my original point was that that the reason religion has stayed on this long is because its a comforting thought and makes people fear it less. I wish I believed in heaven, it is, no doubt, a comforting thought! It just doesn't make sense in my eyes.
OverTheTop94 4 months ago
@OverTheTop94...that's fine if you believe that, my point is there are worse evils in the world, why fight with people who are going to do what's right? Who cares what their reasoning is, it's not right to put them down and basically say they're spineless and scared. I'm obviously not, I'm standing up for what I believe in and I'm doing it in a way that shouldn't offend anyone. The WBC are a common evil because they offend just about everyone.

@airdeity468 Thank you, I appreciate it bud.
vachamps 4 months ago
@OverTheTop94 Wtf do you mean no one knows what death is?
It's when your heart, brain, and other vitals stop working and your consciousness ceases to exist.
What happens then? Simple, all your thoughts you ever had and memories of people/places/things ceases to exist instantly forever. You don't feel anything because you no longer consciously exist! There is no mystery behind it.
TrenchCoatMafia33 4 months ago
@TrenchCoatMafia33 I agree with that point though thats what i'm saying, and nobody can explain the feeling, everybody knows what death is, nobody knows how it feels is what i was meant to say.

People, there is no use reasoning with these religious people. They could say that their god made the sky green, even though you can clearly see it's blue, and prove it's blue by simply looking at it. They will still claim it's green.

@JManu3 Not until I see the following issues addressed:
- No more tax funding for Catholic schools.
- No more tax breaks and tax deductions for churches.
- No more threats to dilute and water down science to make room for creationism and religion in public schools.
- No more religious motivations by politicians.
- No more brainwashing of children in Sunday schools, Bible retreats, etc.
That'd be a good start.
a1mint 5 months ago 23
@a1mint Im in no way religious but what have you got against catholics? There not all nazis
MrLemmyrules 5 months ago
@MrLemmyrules I'm against them using my tax dollars to make better-than-everybody-else's schools and use my tax dollars to spread a bullshit doctrine.
I'm against them not paying their taxes like everyone has to, wrt their churches.
I'm against them indoctrinating and brainwashing children.
It's completely unrelated to nazis. The two have absolutely nothing to do with each other. Bringing this up in one sentence is completely retarded.
a1mint 5 months ago 2
@a1mint...I'm going to be a little bit on your side, I agree tax breaks shouldn't go to religion classes and things like that. But when our government tells children they can't pray in school, wear a cross, won't let people have private bible studies, and promotes hinduism and muslim into schools for students to study then it's hard for me to say the worst thing they are doing is cutting churches tax breaks.
vachamps 4 months ago
@vachamps I'm just as much against Hinduism, Muslim-ism / Islam, in schools as any other religion.
If people want to hold private bible classes, it would have to be outside of core school hours, and off the premises. Schools are for learning, not indoctrination.
a1mint 4 months ago
@a1mint yeah, and there are almost no "Bible Classes" in school anymore. But there are hundreds of schools teaching children the Muslim religion as a part of their core curriculum, and I'm talking about bible studies in homes being ruled unconstitutional because other people see them happening and take offense. That is a real case, and has happened. So, until things are on an even playing ground for all citizens I don't see any problem with Christians getting a break or two.
vachamps 4 months ago
@vachamps There is in Catholic school. Some also push bullshit like intelligent design, which is not science by the way.
Public schools do not teach Bible or Quran crap. Your distortions aren't working.
a1mint 4 months ago
@a1mint....there's almost no catholic schools, at least where I'm from. I'm not distorting anything. I see christians having to back down or give up all the time. So if they get a break once in awhile I see no problem with it. I know public schools don't teach it. Look, all I've been saying from the beginning is there are a lot worse things and a lot worse people in the world then Christians, except these WBC people. So why are you so hostile toward us, go after the real evil in the world.
vachamps 4 months ago
@vachamps In in Ontario, Canada. There are plenty of Catholic schools here. Not sure the numbers, but I'd peg it near 50%, which is just flat out ridiculous. It's wrong. It's incorrect. It's unfair. It's unjust.
a1mint 4 months ago
@a1mint...it's not like that where Im from. I get where you're coming from, but my gov't is putting religion down so I can't say I disagree with them getting help. But at the rate I can see where it could get on your nerves.
vachamps 4 months ago
@vachamps How is your government putting religion down?
a1mint 4 months ago
@a1mint over the last decade or so teachers have been fired for refusing to take off a cross, students expelled for praying, people have been forced to stop private bible classes, a soldier was court marshaled for saying, MAY GOD BLESS YOUR FAMILY while handing them a folded flag even though it was requested, and the examples go on and on and on. The government has taken the separation of church and state to ridiculous level now.
vachamps 4 months ago
@vachamps If that was a public school, and the teacher refuse the take off a cross off the wall, then yes, that teacher should be removed for not keeping things secular as it should. The problem is that when you give creationists an inch, it'll escalate into more.
Bible class doesn't belong in a public school either, period.
For "god" there is no evidence.
We can not allow the religious to deteriorate the separation of state and church, sorry.
a1mint 4 months ago
@a1mint...not off the wall buddy, off her necklace! And I can live with separation of church and state. But reread my last comment. Soldiers can't mention God to a grieving family, students can't bless their lunch, bible classes in people's homes being stopped. I've been saying the same thing this whole time, we aren't asking for breaks, just asking for equality!
vachamps 4 months ago
@vachamps What soldiers say to their family, is a private matter. Do you have any credible references to an article stating how a soldier was restricted this way what he could say to his family?
What a student does with his lunch, isn't controlled either.
You're just making up silly stuff out of desperation I think.
a1mint 4 months ago
@a1mint no sir, these are true. Parents complained to the school board that it wasn't fair that their child had to look at this kid praying so the school board warned the kid, he did it again and was punished. My mom works for a local school system, a school administrator was told they couldn't wear a cross necklace last year because it was offensive. These are two that I have seen with my eyes, the other's I got from a lecture a few years ago, the guy showed the articles.
vachamps 4 months ago
@vachamps Keep your religion out of the public schools, period. Completely. Don't try to weasel your way in. It's not going to work.

vachamps 4 months ago
@vachamps More weasel tactics.
a1mint 4 months ago
@a1mint Weasel tactics? Not sure what that means, all I've done this whole time is speak the truth. You called me a liar, I proved it to you. I'm not asking you to believe in anything, but something is wrong when people can't openly worship or pray. If they take away those freedoms, some of your freedoms are next on the chopping block
vachamps 4 months ago
@vachamps Weasel tactics meaning inching religious views into a public school. A public school is to kept clear from any indoctrination attempts, no matter how subtle, including trying to get kids curious about it.
Last time I called someone a liar, was in a video to a guy selling fraudulent HHO parts for personal gain, though denying things like natural laws and not recognizing science. In this video, I don't recall calling you a liar.
a1mint 4 months ago
@a1mint Ok, you questioned if I was telling the truth. Those students were praying, not preaching, not trying to recruit for a bible class...the teacher wearing a necklace! Come on dude, these aren't malicious attempts to change people's way of thinking, they are students doing what they think is right, and have been taught by their parents for years that they need to do. Now you're being unreasonable
vachamps 4 months ago
@vachamps I don't know the specifics on this particular situation, but I'm sure there is much more to this story. Do you have any credible details about this? That means not sourced from a church, religious blog, science-for-you (= fake), site?
a1mint 4 months ago
@a1mint yeah, my mom works for a public school system, a faculty member was told to hide her cross or face consequences. That one is one I have been around! I'm not gonna argue with you over how real a website's stories are. Open your eyes. This has gotten so far off topic it's stupid. I've said it again and again and you know I'm right, while christians are picked on and ganged up on, I'm not going to feel bad for others that think it's unfair that they do get a break.
vachamps 4 months ago
@vachamps I agree that that cross had to be removed. The school is no place to start introducing religious propaganda artifacts for the purpose of weaseling in religious views.
There are many religions out there, and not keeping all religion out, means that it becomes a hot bed for all the religion flavors out there.
a1mint 4 months ago 4
@a1mint...wow, so talkin to you is completely unreasonable if you don't think firing someone for a necklace is completely unfair. If they aren't forcing their views it's not an invasion of privacy. I can't believe you agree with firing someone for wearing a cross necklace.
vachamps 4 months ago
@vachamps im.. ah... im not sure he said anything about a necklace. but i agree- he is being quie unreasonable about demolising sunday schools and religious motivations. after all, if we didnt have religious motivations, then he would say murder is correct!
i could understand the tax-free bit, though.
trandomphatguy 4 months ago
@trandomphatguy I'm against indoctrinating innocent little children that will then look over their shoulder the rest of their lives thinking a "god" spies on them behind there backs 24/7/365.
And puhlease, you church freaks do not have any ownership on morals! Morals is a normal natural human value. Humans need other humans, we look out for each other automatically, except for the immoral ones.
But to suggest that without religion people would be murders is flat out arrogant - typical Christian
a1mint 4 months ago
@a1mint try again, dude. i'm not a chrsistian. i just dont see what the problem is with letting people practise their faith. yes, they do not need tax-free buildings-no, they should not have zero buildings. politics should not be confused with religion, but politicians should be allowed to have one.
trandomphatguy 4 months ago
@trandomphatguy Practice your faith, fine, but away from the un-indoctrinated.
a1mint 4 months ago
@trandomphatguy the cross a1mint was referring to was a cross on a necklace
EveryDayALittleDeath 4 months ago
@EveryDayALittleDeath i was looking through his comments, and i couldn't find any references to crosses, is what i was saying. i'm not saying it wasn't there, i'm just saying i couldnt find it, and without that part, the argument pushed by vachamps in his comment was... kinda pointless.
oh, and looking at your fist comment, it dosen't seem amint1 is referring to any christian other than those who try to make christianity public, like crosses in public schools or quran-burning.
trandomphatguy 4 months ago
@trandomphatguy I said several times that librarian was fired because she refused to take off a necklace with a cross. That was the basis for that horrible argument, I just couldn't believe he was so against religion that he wasn't ok with students praying at school or a teacher wearing a necklace. I wasn't pushing religion just defending it.
vachamps 2 months ago
@vachamps neither am i being predjudiced towards religion. being religious myself (not a christian, but still). i'm simply saying, he has a point. the catholic church is one of the best-paid churches in the world, yet their buildings are tax-free, yet i can understand there should be buildings dedicated to faith. similarly, praying in schools should not be banned- neither should it be mandatory.
trandomphatguy 2 months ago
@trandomphatguy yeah I'm with ya...I disagree with the tax breaks and stuff. I was just trying to defend religion against everything else.
vachamps 2 months ago

@vachamps I told you, I resist Christians and any other religious people from weaseling their delusional bullshit in places where it doesn't belong. I'll be reasonable or "unreasonable" as I see fit. You will *NOT* creep your crap into MY kid's school. p e r i o d !
a1mint 4 months ago 8
@a1mint...ok buddy, you do you. Say what you want, but if they can take that freedom from a teacher, one of your freedoms that you love, is next.
vachamps 4 months ago
@vachamps Religion is off limits, period ! What is important to teach are things like reality, like evolution, backed by evidence, how the world came to be, how humans spawned from earlier ape like forms 200,000 years ago, fossils, science, laws of nature, theories, hypothesis, biology, math, all that stuff.
Creationism has absolutely no place because it is absolutely absurd !
a1mint 4 months ago 2
@a1mint...Haha...and the Big Bang theory makes sense? Whatever bro, this argument aint happening. I couldn't care less about what you teach in schools. I've not disagreed with that...the teacher wasn't teaching religion, she was wearing a necklace. Get it right.
vachamps 4 months ago
@vachamps Just because we can't fully explain the big bang theory, even though there are some plausible answers mind you, does not validate some pathetic idiotic set of absurd tales from the bronze age.
As for the necklace, I don't know the details for that. I do think it's inappropriate to hang a mythical naked dead body character nailed to a cross. It's disgusting.
a1mint 4 months ago
This has been flagged as spam show
@a1mint...as for your naked dead character cross thing, for all you know it was a small silver cross. Nothing else. Ill let you believe what you want. I'm not wasting anymore time on someone that's refuses to listen to basic logic.
vachamps 4 months ago
@a1mint Crosses are not the same thing as crucifixes. I know this, and I am nowhere near a Christian. Some crosses worn as jewlery are actually quite pretty. My friend has a collection of cross necklaces that she wears because they're pretty. She's not Christian at all. She just likes the way they look. She would never wear a crucifix though, because you're right about the dead body thing.
EveryDayALittleDeath 4 months ago
@a1mint you can call it whatever you want buddy...noone is creaping anything anywhere. This has gone way too far bcuz your focusing on points that make no sense. I've not once said there should be religion classes, just that people of religion shouldn't be forced to hide it.
vachamps 4 months ago
@vachamps Sure you're creeping crap in. Crosses, praying, propaganda, weaseling your way through. Making excuses how teachers that happen to be religious to express their religion, and hence propaganda, to the kids. It's inappropriate, because the crap they believe is proven to be absolutely and entirely false.
a1mint 4 months ago
@a1mint believe what you want buddy. I'll let you. You're not changin my mind and I'm obviously not changin yours. THis conversation is a waste of time. Just hope that they don't come after your freedom next.
vachamps 4 months ago
@vachamps End of day, whether you like it or not, your religions is absolutely absurdly pathetic to the core. Nothing but a bunch of delusions and superstitions. My freedom isn't at issue at all here. What is at issue, is your delusional religion.
a1mint 4 months ago
@a1mint...believe what you want man. That's fine. I'm an understanding person, that has the right morals, and would never tell someone the things they built their life on are absurd and pathetic for the simple fact that it's disrespectful, especially to someone I've never met. And at the end of the day, my reasoning for being that kind of person doesn't matter.
vachamps 4 months ago
@vachamps I don't expect you to listen to reasoning or to realize how your religion is utterly full of shit. Why would you be any different? I've argued with people that are lost and stuck in a set of beliefs for years. None of them have ever admitted to anything at all. Obviously, it's a mental illness. No amount or type of information will change you mind on anything. You'll distort reality to maintain your warped view of how things work.
a1mint 4 months ago
@a1mint...whatever dude, I haven't distorted anything this whole conversation, never even quoted a verse. You've changed this conversation a few hundred times to have it suit you. That's fine, once again, believe what you want, I won't try to change it. As far as a mental illness, well I'm a dean's list student at one of the best colleges in the country, and we stick to those beliefs based on faith. You can't explain a lot of scientific theories but still believe they are overall true.
vachamps 4 months ago
@vachamps You can shrug off with your "whatevers" all you want. I won't let you weasel in your doubt-injection tactics.
A theory is an explanation of an empirical observation.
Science is not based on beliefs.
More and more is learned about our existence all the time.
Your religion will become less and less relevant and more and more absurd as time goes by.
You'll find it harder and harder to pass your bullshit with more and more people offering resistance.
a1mint 4 months ago
@a1mint...ok, you need a hobby. Haha...all you've done is try to fight religion rather than what I've been saying. That's cool tho, enjoy your life. I'm not weaseling anything. Haha...you're cracking me up. I haven't once tried to pass my religion off in this whole ridiculous conversation. You've pushed this so far off subject it's stupid.
vachamps 4 months ago
@vachamps You've suggested that wearing and hanging on the wall religious artifacts, and praying all over the place, ought to be ok in a public school. Your weaseling hasn't worked.
a1mint 4 months ago
@a1mint...Nope, just said the necklace and individuals being able to pray should be a personal choice for the individual. That's not weaseling if it has been an accepted practice for centuries, it would be weaseling if it hadn't been for so long. You've reverted to the elementary school argument of "Well, your idea is stupid." So this conversation has been pointless for awhile now.
vachamps 4 months ago
@vachamps You can do that praying outside our public school. Keep religion OUT of public schools is all. I'm just making damn well sure you don't weasel some excuse by this.
a1mint 4 months ago
@a1mint No! Not a chance, public school means anybody...that includes christians. I haven't tried to weasel anything this whole conversation. I'm yet to give an excuse either. It's not hurting a soul. I bless my food at every meal. Maybe in Canada you hide yourself and who you are to keep from offending others, in the US, me and probably more than half my friends say a blessing before every meal, and sometimes that means infront of friends of ours that we know aren't religious.
vachamps 4 months ago
@vachamps You're wrong. Public schools are free from religion, as the constitution says - separation of church and state.
Yes, you're trying weasel through your religious CRAP. You did it here again. "means anybody", "not hurting a soul" (not true). There you go!
Bless whatever the hell you want at home. But keep your delusional nonsense to yourself and OUT of the public schools !
a1mint 4 months ago
@a1mint how is that weaseling? seperation of church and state means as far as policies and teachings go. How is it hurting anyone? I'm done with this. If you want to keep talking message me, but right now I think you just want attention. This has gone too far, and you're being ridiculous.
vachamps 4 months ago
@vachamps I'm just making damn well sure that you understand perfectly well and perfectly clearly that in this day and age you no longer can get away with indoctrination of others. The walls are closing in on you religious folks and you'll loose your influence year after year. You loose ground every day and soon will be a fringe group.
a1mint 4 months ago

@a1mint I don't want any crap in my kids school, no Santa or the easter bunny. just teaching period. If my kids can't have Jesus they Santa shouldn't be allowed either. My kids have gotten in trouble for not wanting to write to Santa by their school, which isn't right.
wanttoseemysnake 2 months ago
@a1mint Come on, wearing a little cross around your neck is hardly "weaseling in religious veiws." And what about people who wear these symbols for reasons other than religion? My best friend thinks crosses are beautiful and wears cross necklaces, but she's not Christian in the least. I don't beleive in the religious part of Judaism, but ethnically I'm Jewish, and I wear Star-Of-David earrings from time to time, because I'm proud of where I came from. Should I have to stop wearing them?
EveryDayALittleDeath 4 months ago
@EveryDayALittleDeath Hanging a cross on the wall to lure children into asking questions about it, helps religiously motivated teachers introduce discussions to make them think the bible stories are reasonable, so that later a more serious religious body can build on that. It's called indoctrinating, conditioning, prepping.
It's not about a cross on your shoulder, it's about placing religious artifacts strategically as a beacon to suck in the curious, and gullible, naturally. Not in my school !
a1mint 4 months ago
@a1mint You missunderstood me, I was defending the teacher who was told she couldn't wear a cross necklace at school or she would be fired. The crosses I've seen in jewlery are ussually rather small, or they could compromise and she could hide the cross under her shirt. I totally agree with you that there should be no crosses or religious paintings or anything said over the loudspeaker daily that has anything to do with religion. Religion does not belong in public school. Period
EveryDayALittleDeath 4 months ago
@EveryDayALittleDeath I think wearing jewelry that shows a cross is ok and does not cross the line. What you wear on you is an expression of something personal. Slapping a cross onto a public building is different. There it is like statement that the cross has significance that the institution stands behind.
I guess we agree. But beware of the weasels that try to sneak their little crap like ID into libraries and such.
Or librarians that place ID books in the science section for instance.
a1mint 4 months ago
@a1mint you hypocrite, you went off on me for days about that lady wearing a cross, now you believe the jewelry I was talking about is ok? Ha...at least you've proven you aren't heartless after all. Congrats.
