Nope - it was for two other reasons - 1) we kicked them badly in 1938 and 1939.
2) Unlike in 1905 - in 1930s by Stalin`s order on Soviet Far East was built HUGE coastal fortifications and Soviet fleet was powerfull enough - Japs knew their fleet would be slaughtered. In fact after Khalkin Gol - japaneese goverment resigned and new gvt only made plans on USA not USSR

There are chinese copies of this system - HQ-9 for S-300P and HQ-18 for S-300V.

in the early 90s the usa is reported to have purchased S-300 of Soviet built from Belorussia. so if that's true, then usa has info about the wavelength of the system and might be able to deal with it. same goes for israel, so if i was iran i wouldn't go for s-300. nothing against russian arms (they're really good) but russia seems to have a history of supplying very poor quality arms to middle eastern states.

I think it is funny how they try to make the S300/4 to be this amazing system. being able to track 100 targets all at once. The US had developed this technology in the early 1990's called the Aegis system. The Aegis is used to protect aircraft carriers, destroyers and missile cruisers.

I know the Soviet Union had a lot of their weapons designed by committees. Their weapons lack true asthetic beauty, but it's there in things like the Fresco and the Fishbed, you just have to appreciate them from a distance.

LoL, who will fire tacs at you !? Terrorists, Iran ???? If the US wants to fire tacs at you, their missiles will 100% hit all targets, that's for sure. Russia simply is undefendet. The US can at least shoot down several warheads. The S-300/400 is good for picking B-52's, but not multiple-warhead ballisitc missiles LoL

I want to say, that S-300 is a dreamland projekt. Russia has not enough, the system is technologically, 20 years behind the patriot system, which is allready old and replaced by unique Anti Ballisitc projects and Russia has also to fear, bunker penetrating EMP weapons which cannot be targeted by russian satelites and that would reduce the ballisitc missile firing capacity of your nuclear assault bunkers

usa dont upgrade any of version of super weapon(like nuke emp) since 1985///they dont made noone rocket the dont made nothing for thier uke triade...usacan do only 40 nukes in year and we can do 2000 nukes in one year..
