Hey nice video. I thought I would throw a bit of advice to ya. Sprung traps could be the work of coons of foxes when they are that close to shore...Try using a platform set that floats out in the water. Use a leg hold the muskrat will jump off the platform and drown plus nothing can get to it to eat it

if u are trapping muskrat u are using to big of a trap try like a #1 leg hold

i use i/2 of an apple i place it on a twig directly over the trap but i put the trap in at least 10 inches of water or he might chew his leg off. it works great. but i noticed that there wernt to many banks to place the trap near and the bait over the trap.

Nice, you seem to be pretty good. one tip that an old timer told me, if your parsnips are out of the water, put a little butter scotch oil on it and I bet your catches will go through the roof.

im 12 and i catch them i live near a river with them i dig holes and put a bucket in them and when i put vegetables in and they crawl in it and cant crawl out becuase the buckets stick and break their neck its easy

I used to trap rats in their push-ups in the winter when I was a kid. This brings back good memories :) In the early spring in open water I used to bait 110s or 120s with parsnip on the trigger wires. Dynamite way of catching them! Thanks for the video.

the ice is really thick where i live and i find spots where the muskrats have been traveling threw the water and place the snare. so farr i have caught 4 rats with a snare

you can still lose a rat in conibears too. and you use different traps for different setups. footholds would work great for the kind of sets he is doing
