Equal-upgraded hydralisks destroy equal-upgraded stalkers (though blink can even the playing field slightly- it still ends up favoring Hydralisks in the end). Protoss wasn't OP here.
just to throw it out there. i think roaches are more effective than hydras against stalkers only bc they can hit more. though stalkers can blink micro them, as long as you can get some support units and roach burrow/speed then roaches dominate with equal upgrades. IMO hydras die wayyyyy to easily for what they're worth. only good against air and supporting roach from behind.

It doesn't take an "amazing personality" to type "gg," but he refuses to anyway, even when he gets beaten by fantastic micro, (which is just as worthy of praise as getting the right comp). Pro tip: When you are off creep, don't retreat hydras against blink stalkers. Idra could have whittled that stalker ball down if he hadn't tried to retreat.

I lost my place in this series and loaded this again to make sure I hadn't seen it. I was able to skip through it some and rewatched the end. It's even funnier the second time watching the idrage and epic use of stalker vs hydras. Why he made no zealots, I'l never know, but hey it worked right?
i loved it, lol, how idra BMed thou there it was all reasonable, clearly he got outplayed, but it was hilarious how this had to happen in the anticipated final opponent for him
I think the hallucinated colossus really messed with Idra -- caused him to overproduce corruptors, and then send them in too deep to get picked off by stalkers. You can see him hunting the Protoss main looking for the 2 other colossus that he knew he didnt kill, but had seen.
Pretty easy to win when toss can expand while pressuring zerg and teching at the same time, warp units in anywhere on the map, create non passable terrain with sentries, teleport units, and have invisible units that 1 shot all ur workers. Theres so much shit protoss has in this matchup. What does zerg have? 1 dimensional atk units and the ability to spawn another useless wave that dies instantly to a protoss ball. Such bullshit that protoss has a million abusive strats

Idra had his hydras on the ramp and could have easily moved them up sacrificing 2-3 of them (no way he would lost 10). If he did that, he would be on way better spot to take a fight. Stalkers walking up the ramp would be massacred, and blinking up would fight on even terms. Having most of the hydras walking along the line of the rest of their brethren that were shooting was the worst thing to do.
I don't think hydras are a hard counter to blink stalkers, especially at kiwikaki's level of micro. hydras normally kill stalkers faster than vice versa, but that's basically reversible with really good blinks. Kiwikaki basically proved that by keeping his head and constantly blink micro-ing his stalkers without trying too hard to save his collosi

I lost my place in this series and loaded this again to make sure I hadn't seen it. I was able to skip through it some and rewatched the end. It's even funnier the second time watching the idrage and epic use of stalker vs hydras. Why he made no zealots, I'l never know, but hey it worked right?

I think the hallucinated colossus really messed with Idra -- caused him to overproduce corruptors, and then send them in too deep to get picked off by stalkers. You can see him hunting the Protoss main looking for the 2 other colossus that he knew he didnt kill, but had seen.

Pretty easy to win when toss can expand while pressuring zerg and teching at the same time, warp units in anywhere on the map, create non passable terrain with sentries, teleport units, and have invisible units that 1 shot all ur workers. Theres so much shit protoss has in this matchup. What does zerg have? 1 dimensional atk units and the ability to spawn another useless wave that dies instantly to a protoss ball. Such bullshit that protoss has a million abusive strats

@Atm0sphere33 lol funniest thing I've heard today ... IdrA is a great player, but this game HIS PROBLEM was that he MASS overproduced corruptors, as he had like 10 extra...because he was tricked by the hallucinated colossus so he thought he needed more
He basically just wasted like 1.5k minerals and like 1k gas, not to mention the FOOD
Toss is probably the most noob friendly/cheesiest but really...this game was perfectly non cheese so don't QQ noob

@xXLogicalArgumentsXx False. The key to taking down a toss deathball with colossi is basically that, to "overproduce" corruptors because you'll lose a lot of them to stalkers. His problem was that he engaged when he didn't have enough hydras, or should have had some roaches in that army to make Kiwi's blink a LOT harder and take some pressure off the hydras.

@Atm0sphere33 I don't know about that. I've seen Idra pull out some crazy wins when he was well behind and completely dominate great players. It seems like anytime somebody does something out of the "ordinary" and he loses, he gets bent out of shape about it. I enjoy watching him play but I wish he'd give props to people when they have to pull something unusual out of their hats to beat him. It's not hard to hit two little buttons to show some class... gg.

@Kacnafein might have something to do with the fact that hydras move as fast as a constipated snail and stalkers, on top of moving twice as fast, had blink. There was no way idra could retreat there, kiwi would just have chased and killed all the hydras for nothing.

I'm talking about going up the ramp and forcing stalkers to fight while going up the ramp or blinking (which would prevent further blink micro), instead of walking half way up the ramp and than going back down making hydras into clumped clusterfuck fighting against nicely positioned stalkers.

@Kacnafein Theres no highground advantage in sc2. There was no way idra would move all those hydras up a ramp in time without having like 10 hydras die in the meantime and even then it wouldnt help much cause he couldnt get that great of a concave with units that move as fast as a constipated snail

@Atm0sphere33 Yes, there would be no high ground advantage, but there would be a ramp advantage. Idra had his hydras on the ramp and could have easily moved them up sacrificing 2-3 of them (no way he would lost 10). If he did that, he would be on way better spot to take a fight. Stalkers walking up the ramp would be massacred, and blinking up would fight on even terms. Having most of the hydras walking along the line of the rest of their brethren that were shooting was the worst thing to do.

I don't think hydras are a hard counter to blink stalkers, especially at kiwikaki's level of micro. hydras normally kill stalkers faster than vice versa, but that's basically reversible with really good blinks. Kiwikaki basically proved that by keeping his head and constantly blink micro-ing his stalkers without trying too hard to save his collosi
