i was watching this, and when you go over the stats I was thinking "Wtf, only 9000 or so hp each?" but then I remembered that older final fantasies tended to have lower numbers in general. In ff7/8 etc they have like characters and bosses with a million or some crazy shit.

The older ones are really good, i'd say 10 was the last one that was all that great, and even then it wasn't that amazing. I personally enjoy the final fantasy combat system..I know lots of people think it's boring.

But setting up ridiculous things like Cecil + bloodsword + counter = kick is fun. Disproportionate retribution, lol.

@nateken No, not really. You've always been able to get rid of reflect with dispel. Dispel breaks barriers and continuous magics (depends on which FF), reflect is just another barrier.

There is an easy way to cheese this boss battle. If you gave Tellah the "bluff" augment and use a Gaia Drum you can find in Agart you can make short work of these chicks

The Delta Attack is pretty pathetic. Three powerful ladies like that and the best they can come up together is put a reflect on the fat one and bounce spells off of it. They should all be attacking in unison with various attack methods if they want to do a Delta Attack. They deserved to get beaten so easily. : P

I always love when the reflect is gone and they attack the big one with spells though. That is a classic FAIL moment on their part.

1) No, the lunar ruins weren't brought over to this version, but there is other secret content to find, like optional bosses, etc.

2) The whole game for the DS was made much harder, in particular the bosses, whose strategies have been changed to challenge even experienced FFIV players. Even the random battles can be deadly if you're not on your toes.

It's called a reference people... a small nod to the past games. These people who made such comments would likely despise FFIX, which was FILLED with references to the past games...

At last someone talks some sense! It's the same principle as how there's always someone called Cid in the FF games, and hell, a lot of the summons have appeared in numerous titles - look at Shive, Ifrit, Bahamut, Carbuncle, etc....

Plus, it's such a real-good feeling when you recognize a reference to a past game in the series. It's like, "yeah, i know what you're talking about! Go me!"

It looks like you love the original simply because it was first and are unable to compare the versions objectively. Your argument about focus on graphics over story doesn't work because the game is essentially the same but with lots of improvements. If you diss the story in DS, you diss the original just as much.
