I used to have all of these on VHS when the 1990 version of the movie came out--I was addicted to the stories.

If these are in public domain, why cant theaters bring these back and play these before movies. Cartoons are also a good idea

Although Morgan Conway looks more like Gould's
Tracy profile wise than Warren Beatty did,
At least they got the chin right.

An interesting serial,
But for me it just doesn't have the intensity
or violence and brutality of Chester Gould's strip
and certainly none of the memorable characters of
Goulds strip, IMHO you would need a pre Hays Code
style film ala The Public Enemy or Little Caesar or a Film Noir to really get the flavor of Goulds strip
IMHO.
