I don't get these Zelda timelines.. They say Skyward sword is the first but how is that so? If its first then why did Impa "die" or why was she old? Why was Zelda saying to Link before she went into sleep that she was always the one waking him up when they were little kids and that he has to wake her up? And that he always was the one to save her?!

2. Because in Skyward Sword, Link & Zelda were childhood friends and she woke Link up because he was lazy.

3. He is always the one who saves Zelda is due to the curse that Demise placed on the ones with the "Share the blood of the goddess and the spirit of the hero." (Link and Zelda)

True, but that does not really help durring a boss battle where your most effective tactic is to shield bash, and on those odd moments when you get it wrong, Demise takes a good chunk out of your shield. So which would you rather have? A shield that has low durability and slowly repairs itself, or a shield that has more durability and just use a few restoration potions on it?

@3WayPlaythroughs Indeed. Going back to the Lanayru Dragon, he offers to do a boss rush if you see him again once he is fully healed up. One of his prizes that he mentions is "an unbelievably strong shield". The Hylian shield. HUGE durability bar, and can't be damaged by anything. And if it is, it heals itself. So it is definately worth it.

And the one's sharing the blood of the Goddess, meaning the descendants of Zelda (every other Zelda in the other games), and the one's sharing the Spirit of the Hero (doesn't have to be a descendant of SS Link himself, just a chosen one who has the Spirit), will be doomed to fight against Demise's hatred for eternity. And that's why we have every other Zelda game following Skyward Sword.

Most epic video game moment of my life. I almost cried at the end because I(like most fans) waited for this game since the Infamous poster was shown at E3 2009 and the ending was so striking and by far one of the best if not, THE best endings in Zelda. In twilight princess it was said the Hylians descended from the sky. Zelda was the godess Hylia reborn, and she settled in the land on the surface. She and Link were probably the first Hylians in hyrule. Meaning Links answer was yes when he said what he said.

@windkai i think it's the same Ganon in all the games. The man Ganondorf in Ocarina of Time is said to become the Demon King (Demise's title) after acquiring the triforce of power. He retains this power, which grants him immortality. Ganon reforms the triforce in Wind Waker...

Ganondorf loses the triforce of power and is thus killed, for the one and only time, by Link's final blow. Of course, this means there is scope for a new Demon King to take Ganondorf's place now that he has been established as an incarnation of Demise's undying hatred for the Gods and the origin of all monsters. Food for thought :)
