@yostokies Im not taking anything away from Otochun at all. The guy has an amazing Chun Li, i was just saying Daigo never gives up, nothing more. So don't jump to conclusions you cunt
@philip1718 so you would rather have him win with a cheap shot than a special move?... fuck... this going to lead to an argument...
patience and determinations its what makes the difference between skill players, at least that's what I think. I personally would've been in intimidated after the first round (chun li pyer didnt even get a chance to show his skillz), but he came back strong in the 2nd and 3rd and won the match with great finale.
@102293 top 3 if not the best Street Fighter player around the world, not just japan. hes such a good ryu player that they were thinking of changing ryu's last name from "Ryu Hoshi" to "Ryu Umehara" (daigo's last name).lol
thats a joke by the way but yeah, hes the best street fighter player of all times, hes known world wide not just here and japan.
I'm not sure this is Daigo, as far I know he's always had katakana for overlay. I would be interested in general information regarding this tournament though. I can't seem to find any sources.
@CelesAura thats were daigo shines bro, he never gives up and whenever he manages to make a comeback its just fucking epic. sadly, this was not the case.
before 0:40, he definitely have the super stored, but at 0:40, he stopped and crunched.
at first i thought he is blocking but what he did is crouch forward (so super is still stored) and stay outside of daigo's range and wait for his action, when daigo's cr. HP whiffed, he super.
bravo!
also daigo is one heck of a player and have no problem performing under pressure in round 3. it's amazing that he's good at so many games, while otochun is definitely a master of ST.
In a way its kind of odd, if he can play keep away pressure offense when he has barely any life, I wonder why he can't really seem to do that as well when he has full health. I guess pressure brings out the best in him
It's called a walk-in super. ST Chun can still store the charge while moving forward which makes her insanely powerful in this version. It's actually pretty widely used technique among Chun users, but Otochun uses it the best. IMO the best thing to do when Chun gets her super ready is jump constantly.
I don't play Chun li actually so you maybe right. I still want to point out more than 50% of all Chun players I played use that technique regardless of their actual skills in ST.
The stored super is easy to use, however, keeping it stored is possible even if you throw or switch sides with your opponent and those two things are really difficult to do.
But just doing a regular stored super walk up/jump in is pretty easy.
It also provides for nice mindgames since fireball characters can't keep her away with fireballs anymore once she has her super, so it's possible to control your opponent with the very fear that the super *might* come out.
If you don't believe about Chun-li's super to be easily used, go to Kaillera servers or play XBox360 and see how many SSF2T players abuse that shit. Quit talking how my comments are shitty when you can't provide even a single counter-argument.
Capcom made itself, worship your god if you must. But do not take away from the achievements of man. Capcom didn't become what it was overnight. Street Fighter would not be what it is without the hands of its players.
Yay!! It's nice to see someone different win for a change.

He can do it with full health but its like a last resort when the the stakes are raised.
Almost as if he has a stage plan of his fight.
I mean like, Ryu can always do that fb trap, but he'd rather play in different way until hes in trouble.
He counters pressure with pressure.
DonJuanDeMarco2 2 years ago
