if you equip everyone with laser and start with that it destroys the cannons so much easier and faster and then you can heal everyone before he starts the smasher. Once he starts using the smasher that attacks everyone at once THEN you use glass and the most powerful HP weapons. It's stupid to waste the glass or anything special on the cannons bc they are the boss' weakest weapons AND are super easy to destroy and recover from. ALWAYS play this game with two humans and two mutants!!!

yeah you cant play for shit friend, i have my stats in 99-99 etc-999hp for all my party without doing cheat and you can win the batle in two rounds if you use the seven sword given by the Haniwa . example after you gain 99 strengh you can equip the party with Giant amors that will increase the power of strength and you will win in 2 rows. of course to get 99 in each player

also, LOVED this game, had the same kind of replayability that the old pokemon games had, must have gone through red and silver at least 5 times each

@Buggaton there were several parts of this game that really really tough enemies attack you every 2-3 steps, so what you did was save every couple steps and when you got attacked, turn it off and back on then walk 2 more steps etc.. made it so much easier

I could never figure out how to beat this boss. My team was all robots... I found it rather stupid that no matter how much armor they had, they could never survive the smasher launch enough times to win the fight...

But I didn't know any other way to get past Venus (or was it some other boss... I know I chose robots for a reason!) so I gave up T_T

I used Human (max int.) with psi blade and best armour, Robot with Excalibur & 2x Gungnirs and a Defend, 2 Parasuits, Dragon armour (cancels out some attacks)... again Robot 2x Samurai (bow), a Tank, Dragon armour and 2 more of the best available armours & Selffix and a mutant with best spells and armour... Surprisingly the party survived except mutant... :'(

Humans are the worst class in this game. It's hard to build up enough Strength AND Agility to make them effective, especially at the end game. In the end, I usually just resort to using Laser Guns and magic for enemies who have O-damage (Arsenal is one). Cuz weapons like XCalibr, Samurai, and Gungir only do 1/3 damage against them.

My party's much worse, I have 2 robots dealing damage with a Gungnir and the other with missiles. I have one mutant that's useless, and the other heals the party. I can last about 3 turns after the part where it bring out the smasher, but I always lose.

I'm using the save file I had from over ten years ago, and I'm gonna keep trying till I win.

The Arsenal is the planets "security system" and after Apollo attempts to assemble the 77 pieces of MAGI, to become a god, something seems to be missing. What Apollo, and everyone else for that matter, (with the exception of the Guardians) didn't know, is there was another piece of MAGI, hidden deep within the Final Dungeon. After you retrieve the final MAGI,you defeat Apollo, and piece all MAGI together to form the goddess Isis. But the plant begins to tremble violently, malfunctioning Arsenal.

I have beaten FFL 1 like 40 times with all kinds of different combos and 2 humans and 2 mutants was always the easiest combo to beat the game with. I beat FFL2 using this combo as well. Never could find 3 even though I went to Toys R' Us looking for it like every other weekend when I was growing up. It was always sold out.

haha Yeah I know there's waaay more difficult character combinations you can use. That's why I like these games, you can decide the difficulty based on what kind of character builds you want.

I still have the original cartridges for these but I don't have a gameboy to play them on anymore. Thats where emulators come in handy I guess. Weird thing was I got all 3 from the same garage sale for $1 each.

I remember one time the Arsenal just kept destroying my party in the third round. Only way I won was by having my Kusanagi use Absorb over and over and praying that he got the first attack in each round.

Ever since I saw Isis at the end of the game, I wanted to build a character with 99 in each stat. Currently, I have 3 humans and a mutant. Mutant has 99 defense naked, but nothing else is maxed.

Fun with human = max str and full giants/geta armor. Then, equip Xcalibur. (Hidden room in Final Dungeon. Take the east or west wall in the diamond-shaped room.) You'll do 1,500-1,600 dmg each swing without using MAGI. I don't like robots, but they can do more

Just never run from a random encounter. There is a cheap way if you're using an original Game Boy (the gray brick) but that's cheating. There's also a trashcan trick but it makes the game boring.

BTW this is not Final Fantasy, it is SaGa, they just used Final Fantasy just to increase sales of it in the US.

Akitoshi Kawazu: An Executive Producer of Square Enix and the the head of Square Enix's Production Team 2, is the one who created the whole SaGa Series. He also designed FF2 (NES) so that's why the same level up system from that game is in this series.

It takes a lot of skill (and a lot of time to raise stats mostly) with a robotless party to take down this guy. If I ever get my hands on a copy again I'm going 2 humans and 2 mutants.

But if you really want a challenge go for 4 robots. Expensive as hell and hardly any way to heal.

I had the same party. Robots are imba with Samurai and Tank, and in the last area you can get really strong monsters. Then the last battle is a joke.
