  • Damn you're fine and sexy. Natural hair is the best.

  • other people aren't always going to like it...it's important to still learn to be confident no matter how others react to it...or else it will be hard to continue to wear it.

  • u look good with urs! I didnt care for mine @ first. but for some reason ppl kept givin me compliments....so I stop wearing wigs etc. and started rocking it all kinda ways!! I feel the same way u did (do)!! go gurl... ur right, u gotta put that confidence FIRST, then others will respect u and like it!!! lol

  • @EskimoPagan Apparently TWO people ALREADY answered this question!!!!

  • @berriesz011 you don't have to be a bitch. i didn't mean it in a mean way. i meant it as in "i'm guessing this is what it means". i was just answering your fucking question.

  • Comment removed

  • Transitioning since Nov and the creamy crack has been calling but as the coils and waves and twists are coming in- I love my TWA and now, the problem is, I can't keep my hands out of my hair. With the winter months, its very dry and I can't wait til it gets some length to try braids/protective styles- oh, wigs are a no for me. Anyway- I appreciate your REAL TALK ! Keep up the good work ...

  • you go girl!! IF GOD DIDNT WANT U TO HAVE NAPPY HAIR WE WOULDNT HAVE IT!! I LOVE THAT COMMENT

  • You are soo pretty i see y u get good comments when u go out u could sign up for Top Model go girl

  • I have those ear rings..cute lol

  • I totally agree with what you are saying. The main reason I went natural was because I believe that if God made my hair this way I was going to rock it and wear it with pride in its natural form! p.s. you are gorgeous! I love your vids!

  • I totally agree with what you say. God made our hair this way and I plan on rocking it in its natural form. P.S you are gorgeous!

  • Thank u for this video.. I did my Bc on Dec.8 and even though everyone says they love it it's taking a little time 4 me 2 love it

  • @MACMAKEUPNATION225 I'm sure that is looks gorgeous on you!!! Sometimes a person just needs a little time to adjust to the change. And believe me, once you get used to rockin it, you'll realize that it's not even as big of deal as you think it is now ( -:

  • @kilico40 that's so true. once you cut it, in a few days you wonder why were are so afraid

  • THANK YOU for posting this. I have been natural for about a year but still wear a quick weave because I'm afraid of what the world will say. Today, I am no longer wearing a weave and will rock my fro with CONFIDENCE!!

  • thank you for posting this. i just BC'd last night and I've been really having a hard time adjusting and being afraid of what people are going to think -- but like you said, if I can rock this I can rock anything. so thank you <3

  • What's a good product for me to buy to make my TWA curly and shiny?? Nice video btw!

  • Thank u so much for posting this video I just did my big chop day before yesturday and this has really helped me cause I know Im pretty but I am a bit scared of how the world would see it . but i know its just hair and it will grow back in time so for now on I know to rock it with confidence lol thanks

  • U look beautiful with short hair.

  • it's cute though girl. i just started my journey & im ready to chop chop chop..lol.YAY can't wait

  • How many inches of hair do you have. I'm getting TWA style ideas for my big chop and you wear this so well girl! How many months do I have to grow my hair to get this style?

  • i love the big chop i felt the same way wen i did that but now its awesome

  • She is very pretty :-) However, I see many women on here that work it. Like someone said, the make-up and earrings can make a difference too.

Furthermore, can we at least wait 6 months to a year without worrying about men? LOL. Can you just chill out for a bit? And if you can't, maybe your confidence can make all the difference. Both sexes are attracted to confidence. Thanks sheacocoaluv!

  • @thekaliko...TWA is Teeny Weeny Afro.

  • Please tell me what TWA is.

  • PLEASE SOMEONE TELL ME WHAT SONG IS PLAYING IN THE BACKGROUND!

Great video. I want to go back natural now...again lol. I used to be natural, I had dreads too

  • i'm about to wear my twa out. i'm 4 months post my bc (a fade) and i guess i havent worn it out yet bc i was afraid, but im glad i have family and friends encouraging me to wear it out.

  • I must tell you how I feel exactly how you said you felt when you went for your Big Chop! I'm two days away from mine and going crazy! LOL I think it's the anxiety of waiting and anticipating, I'm unsure! I'm going to do my first video today, I'll be sure to shout you out! Thanks so much sis! Love

  • I did the big chop on July 30,2010. i WAS VERY SCARED! But it is all about how you protray yourself. After I went home and made my face up and put the earrings on, I was happy with the cut. Now, I am loving my hair!!!!!! So, thank you guys for all the videos and tips and pics. Oh, and the man I WAS dating had a fit! So now we are not together. In the dirty south, men are still caought up in the long and straight hair thang!

  • I did my big chop on sept.. 24th 2010 and I LOVE IT!!! wish i would've done it sooner..

  • Your video was very motivating and I thank you for it. I am going to bc in two months. I will have transitioned for 6 months at that point. I am going to work my TWA and of course there will be negative comments but that's life. You are right, confidence is key. Thanks again

  • i love your hair!!! i'm trying to wait and big chop until my hair is this length. We have similar hairlines too, right above the brow area lol

  • yah ur hair fits u very well, and ur prettier than beyonce and tyra banks and all thse other hos that need to have long wavy hair... i luv beyonce n tyra btw, but they could rock out the short hair but theyre scared. Solange is beautiful with the short hair!!!

  • Omq I luv u ur twa is so cute I trensitioned for 11 months nd I'm a freshmen so I was a lil scared bt wen I saw dis vid I said fuck it I'm ready rite nw my hairs n a puff nd I love it:)

  • Your hair is so so pretty. I have locs now and use to rock mine just like yours, and I am so ready to cut these locs off. Short hair is my thing.

  • Girl you are gorgeous! I used to be afraid to wear mine out as well. For the longest time I wore LF wigs. When I finally did it, I felt a big relief and weight off my shoulders. A GREAT feeling. Some people give looks but most say they love it. Most importantly, I LOVE it. I agree with you, this is the hair GOD gave us. It's not a curse, it's a blessing because NO other race has our hair. We're the chosen ones. STAY BEAUTIFUL my natural hair ladies!!

  • Yes I am rocking my natural hair and yeah I get looks just because I am in the militarty and someone is always going to have something to say about an African American woman with natural hair but whatever I look sexy with it and my family love it as well and you are right it is all about your self esteem because in the end its all about what you as an individual like not anyone else

  • you are beautiful hun , I just cut my short hair a few weeks ago I need a camera cause I would love to talk about my hair journey - my response I got from ppl was excellent

  • LOVING YOUR HAIR AND THE SONG IN THE BACKGROUND. PLEASE TELL ME WHAT IT IS AND WHAT PRODUCTS YOU USE ON YOUR NATURAL HAIR.

  • You are wayyyyy PRETTY! Love this video!

  • :D beautiful

  • Simply Beautiful! Do you. I did the big chop too and in the beginning i was afraid ou what others would say but i got over it and did it! And i love it...Black Girls Rule!

  • You are rocking yours! Fabulous! For the first few weeks, my comments (all negative) really depressed me. All came from my family members! No one has yet to say anything nice. Now that I'm almost 2 months into it, they make comments but I don't care anymore. I have yet to "rock" mine, but at least negativity about my hair doesn't hurt me! My husband is behind me 100% (he doesn't like my short hair, but he's encouraging me on my journey) so that's all that matters!!!

  • But you look pretty w/ your twa- makeup is pretty also. I don't know if I can rock it. If I go natural I will probably wear a wig or braids.

  • Shea! You're awesome! Keep spreading the positivity!!! Have you ever used Kinky Curly products?

  • Shea! You're awesome! Keep spreading the positivity!!!

  • The bottom line is having confidence! There are many women of many different sizes and shapes that have naturals and rock it with pride!!! AND that's the truth!! Yes, Shea is gorgeous, but she carries it well b/c she has CONFIDENCE!!! It takes a lot of soul to cut your hair and rock it natural! It takes more than surface beauty! ;-)

  • BEAUTIFUL!

  • I really appreciate you posting this video...actually all your videos! I just did the BC on 8/3/10 my one month anniversary is this Friday YAY! When I really decided to do it I had to do it right away or I was scared I would change my mind since my permed hair was almost in the mid of my back! I love it though! I'm glad I did it. I'm a little anxious to see it longer but I know...patience So now I'm just working on finding the products that work for me.open to suggestions..much love!

  • Do your thing girl!

  • Hey, love. Great video. If I had seen this before I BC'd it would have made me feel at ease. Like you I didn't transition for long before I cut my hair off and I haven't looked back since. @ 2:22 made me laugh. I've been getting great response from the fellas as well. :)

You are beautiful sista, and thanks for putting this video out there for anyone thinking about BC'ing.

  • I chopped my hair by a nice white lady but the black ladies from the black salon are afraid for me. I dont know what is the big deal of me cutting off my perm hair. So i just went to a high class salon and i asked politely "can you cut my hair?" and im happy that she will and she puts namaste on it so i won't have dried hair walking out of the salon. I was not scare at the time just want it cut because my poor scalp need to be relieve from the tugging and pulling between the two (transistional)

  • i chopped my hair off 8 months ago but kept it in synthetic braids. after watching ur videos, i decided its time to let my hair breathe and im never goin back. i love my natural hair. ur videos are great confidence boosters. thank you so much!

    Much luv girl

  • U....R....GORGEOUS.!...and ur hair made u even better u r so beautiful.ur twa fits ur face perfectly.!gosh ur beautiful.but keep it up girl dont let nobody knock you cuz guess what EVERYBODY gets talked about if u was the baddest bitch in the world.,somebody thats hating gone find something to say.,so brush em off but if its one thing they CANT say is that ur ugly..so fuck em sweetie.and thats real

  • Your hair is really pretty:) I wasn't hesitant to do the big chop, simply because I felt my hair was beyond damaged and it was just horrible. So I was like yay FREEDOM when I chopped my hair off. No more hair breaking off and drama. YAY! lol thanks for the video and being inspiring:)

  • You. Are. GORGEOUS! Girl, if it wasn't 12:24 in the AM, I would be running to the barber shop now! lol! Thank you for making this video! :-)

  • Your hair is amazing :) I have not relaxed my hair since April & since cutting that crap out of my life my hair has grown alot & I'm so happy. But I just cannot bring myself to cut all of my relaxed strands off. The two hair textures isn't really bothering me too much, but I just want my hair to grow more before I do cut all of this relaxed hair off I just have been clipping my "ends" for the past few months. YOUR VIDEOS as well as other ladies on here has helped me out SO MUCH :) THANKS!!!!!

  • Thank you sister. You spoke the words I needed to hear. You are beautiful from the inside out!

  • You are very beautiful! It's been a month since my last perm, do think i should go ahead and chop it all off? Because I'm ready to go natural!

  • you are so GORGEOUS!! and your twa looks hawt.

  • I just decided to transition my hair!! I am sooo excited to be free of the flat iron, curling iron, and relaxer. Thanks for the inspiration.

  • it works for you cuz your hella pretty

  • Yeah, I hate to admit it...but-okekemadue-has a point. But no one has to BIG CHOP to go natural......if you feel you don't have the head, face, body shape, etc for short hair....simply transition instead :) Don't let that stop you from going natural.

  • Still a little nervous. But I'm going to transition for a while and get mine done in January…hopefully. Hopefully it looks as pretty as yours. :)

  • Your outfit makeup and hair is hella cute!

  • I definitely prefer black women with natural hair. However, the experiences of this delicate flower of a sista are not a fair test of whether men generally find natural hair attractive. She is drop the F. gorgeous. Most black men would drink muddy water and sleep in a hollow log if she said so.

  • ...drop the F. dead gorgeous...

  • very pretty

  • Is your hair naturally curly or do you do something to make it curly? after washing my hair there is no curl but shrinkage only that i can't even think of just doing a wash and go...jjust chopped of the relaxed part this morning and im braiding my hair on saturday but i want to be able to just walk around with my natural hair eventually, helpppppppppppp!!!!

  • I love your hair very classy gurl! got my twa going on myself love it! and YES MAD respect since my BC, and whats that song in the background?

  • I just did the BC about a week ago. I have watched your video MANY times. Your viewpoint is inspiring and motivating. Love your hair!

  • love youe video's

  • Hey! Your hair is really cute. What product do you use to get your hair curly like that?

  • omg this video is very inspiring I am transitioning now and i am considering BC after I take out my braids!! THANKS

  • @SimplyRay1

Samething for me. Taking out my braids out this week good luck.

  • @AuNaturale010

wow i know your excited good luck as well

  • Wow! Thank you I have my big chop for about 4 weeks. I do LOVE it however at time when I get those crazy look. I try and make sure that I hold my head up and walk on air. I often tell people it may not be for you and when I decided to cut "MY" I didn't consider what you would think. So again thank you thank you thank you because today I was having one of those did I make a mistake days.

    thank again sister

  • thanx

  • What song is playing in the background?

  • Omg in just watching your video and it is so cool that you did this....I actually did my bc the day after you made this vid. I was very excited to cut mine and it was around the length as urs becasue I transitioned for awhile......

Now I sometimes feel like I wish I had long hair but I have never gotten so many compliments on my hair expecially from men!

  • you look absolutely beautiful. i'm seriously contemplating BCing now because i'm getting antsy and cannot wait another 5 months. how many months was this after your big chop?

  • really! u look so beautiful! and you are so right. u rock that style-definitly

  • I think TWA stands for teenie weenie afro! cute

  • I saw your video shortly before I did my bc and you were so inspirational... I am glad I found you on here again.. I recently did my bc after 2 months of growth and LOVE it... I'm still learning to take care of it... just wanted to say you're beautiful!!! Keep rocking out the natural! ;-) God bless!

  • I was just thinking of doing this...my braids are looking shabby at this point and ive been stretching for about 4 months its about time for them to come out. . With only about two inches of new growth lolz. Im gonna cut off my relaxed ends anyway. So why not now... Thankyou gurl. BTW ur so cute!

  • u r very pretty

  • wats twa stand for?

  • @momowowo16 teeny weeny afro

  • I reeeally want to big chop! I'm just waiting to get some more length. I have a circle face and skinny neck. I'm afraid I'll look like a lollipop or a balloon or something. lol Your hair looks so pretty on you!

  • U are funny.... thanx for giving me some advice... its very supportive and im gonna do it..... Im scared........... but ill be okay.... XXX from Holland

  • Teeny Weeny Afro

  • thanks for the advice, that really helped me to finally set the date and i'm sticking to it. i'm cutting on Monday. If they don't like it well that there prob. and they need to get over it. Thanks your future Naturaista sista

  • Thank you. I am two days in my BC. Have not wore it out yet. I have had short hair before but relaxed. First time will be in two days! I am a confident woman just some things have happened to be that have beat me down alittle. I am comin back - fast!

  • I big chopped by accident last week and i absolutely LLLLLLLOOOOOVVVEEEEEE IT.....no regrets:)

  • wow u got a sexy voice. i have nuff respect for all my fellow natural ladies :)

  • Maybe I should know this, but what does TWA stand for?

  • omg yur so pretty. i really want to do the big chop but im scared to do it but this video wants me 2 do it alot thank yu :)

  • love it

  • Your natural hairstyles look great!

  • went natural march of 09, I admit when i first cut it i hid a bit under scarves, hats, & wigs, but once i got a bit of length i was hooked. I encounter people at my job who ask about my hair alot. Black women, white men/women who think my hair is cute.I dont think we realize how accepting the world can be about our hair. I say invite those questions, the stares and ask them to talk about it. Most people are afraid to but relent & explain things. Im tellin you black women love talkin bout it.

  • I just chopped it 5 months post perm BUT Im getting micros and its not that I dont love it but I want it a it longer!! But this video really helped me =)

  • The shape of face/skull and sometimes, even body shape (fat vs slim) really affects how any woman looks with short hair, confidence or no confidence. Lets say the truth. You can get away with any hair style cos you have a beautiful, flawless face dear.

  • @okekemadue thanks for the comment, but being natural let it be short or long, will forever to me look better on a black woman than a perm ever would. and thats just the truth, there is a certain glow and revival when i see the transition, definitaly if its short, ther is sassy, classy, foxy and something beautiful about it.and it stands out from the rest def w/ confidence and because it is what naturally grows from our scalp, and God makes no mistakes. all my sistas are beautiful...thank you

  • @sheacocoaluv i'm so happy for this video...i know many sistas have different reasons for going natural and i'm happy that it all resulted in them going natural but ur message is the same as what i've come to terms with. I feel God makes no mistakes and for a black woman to embrace her NATURAL hair is very liberating becuz very early in life we are bombarded with images that make us feel different and not beautiful. I just decided to go natural a week ago and i'm loving the hair God gave me :)

  • @sheacocoaluv exactly :)

  • @sheacocoaluv Excellent response to okekemadue.

  • @votesmatter I agree. I applaud sheacocoluv's response!

    ~~GTL2010~~

"Just as iron sharpens iron; so does one sister sharpens another."

  • @sheacocoaluv Great response. Your natural hair is what God gave you so of course you will look good going natural. btw You are so beautiful! Very inspiring.

  • I definitely agree with you. There is something different about a pretty girl when she transitions from perm to natural, there is a radiance, definitely.

  • @sheacocoaluv I'm a 70s baby and one thing I CAN say...every single sista who rocked the same basic afro had a TOTALLY UNIQUE look about her. It was like even though the hairstyle was the same, it looked TOTALLY different on each person...and totally suited the person no matter their features/face/head shape. I still feel that way about TWAs/fros/etc. BTW you are absolutely stunning...!

  • @okekemadue I would like to disagree with this statement. Yes, sheacocoaluv IS beautiful, however ANYONE can rock short natural hair (TWA). And if someone doesn't look good to you with their TWA, it's NOT the TWA to blame, it's them in general, which means that even with straight long hair, you'd be calling them ugly. But just like sheacocoaluv said short natural hair is beautiful, classy, sassy, and all of that. And not being confident SHOWS and is unattractive, and we don't want that. Do we ?

  • i really appreciate your honesty. great video

  • Confidence is always key!

  • i love my short hair toooo.

  • How do you keep your hair looking so shinny and curly..... I just did the big chop yesterday..... and it looks a mess...... i had more curls before i did the chop...... "

    help"

  • what do you use in your hair to get that defined curl pattern, its beautiful!!

  • thank yu, i just cut my hair but i cant find anything to make it look ...um yu knoo "presentable" im 17 and yu just halped me out a lot

  • what does TWA stand for?

  • @sariyu10 teenie weenie afro =)

  • lol..@ ur comment "well i guess im in a good place"... in ref to ur man liking ur hair... girl i feel u....

  • yes i totally agree! its all in the way you rock it! i love my natural hair!!

  • Awww thank you. You made me feel better about my MESSED UP TWA but I still need to get use to it but thx!!!!!!!1 LOVE THE MAKEUP

  • who sings that song?

  • what song is this ?
