yup Friday 6pm - Sunday 6pm are days off after the first 5 weeks, so long as the platoon isn't Confined to barracks, which will happen at least once in the weeks after the first 5. There are also positions in the Platoon that cannot leave the floor/base.
@NoDestinyLive4Now Weekends after the Indoc period at St Jean , are the recruits own ,. .. but they can very easily be taken away... its a privilege and it is earned haha
"you won't be in that video cause you are too ugly"
The french-canadian accent made it even funnier.
But I noticed... This military base seems to be located in Quebec because of the accent of many officers. Are they solely speaking English even in the Quebec bases?
@SuperDavidlyon this only shows the highlights not what it is actually like at all...we canadians turn out some of the best soldiers in the world sue to our training
@nekkid123 that comment if were made by an english dude would not have been as funny in my opinion...my sister said sometimes it was hard to take the french instructors seriously at times because of the french accents....lol only in the beginning...just as a passing thought i cant wait to get in
as far as RMC goes, all three of the older brothers attended RMC, im sure cadets and reserves help, but your 16, you might do 1 year or so in the reserves before grad from high school, and only days after u grad you will go to basic officer training. i would recommend staying in shape, volunteer work, if you play team sports thats a good one too, keeping good grades in school and stay out of trouble!!!! its tough to get into RMC, so stay true and be confident
Thanks a lot for this series. I find it very helpful. I was wondering though, would joining the reserves help with my chances of getting into Royal Military College? I am currently 15 (turning 16 next month or so) and I'm debating whether I should join the reserves or the cadets.
i have a question. Im 16 right now and am in the army cadets. My plans are to stay in cadets right now and do para next spring and summer and earn my wings. But i also am thinking of quitting cadets and joining the reserves but i still want to get my wings. Do you think it would be easier to just stay in the cadets or join the reserves and i dont mean easier training because i know its the same but like easier to apply.
holy crap that brings back memorys. it was 12 and half years ago i did that crap. its changed a little but not that much. man do they have it easy as far a weekends off go. In the hole time i was there we got one weekend off. MAN did those drinks taste good.
i did a 10-11 week IAP at st jean, for reg forces and finished succesfully, then I VR'd and now im going back for reserves (navy) at victoria, i hear the botp and iap courses are done in the same summer now, how is the cfb esquimult course?
CanadianArmyNews, I have a question. I am interested in joining the Canadian Forces, but right now I am using custom made orthotics that help the low arch in my foot. Would I be denied into the Canadian Forces if I have this problem? It is not flat feet, simply a low arch that needs orthotics. Thanks.
hell no u wouldent have no problem.....like maybe as much of problem as anyody els has ya know kinda fat, outta shape, smoker, eats 2 much of the wrong kinda food things like that
God, this BMT is... Vanilla. Navy bmt isn't even this relaxed. That being said, it is on camera. I wonder...

what sizes do the uniforms and berets come in?
Anyone know?
HatakeStrife 2 years ago
They have uniforms for the tallest, fattest, shortest, smallest, and everyone in between.
Finchy000 2 years ago
They measure you for your uniform, so therefore it comes in your size

Can't wait to get sworn in. I've been waiting for 12 weeks and two days...
My advice to all prospective recruits, sign-up early, and don't be surprised to wait 10 months for confirmation from CFRC Victoria
