autism speaks needs to burn in hell for calling autism a "burden", a "tragedy" and something that needs to be "fixed" or "normalized". I have aspergers myself and autism speaks sterotypes autistics in saying that all autistics need to be thearputalized or treated or cured because they want us to be the normal perfect person they see in fantasy novels. Autism is not a disease and in fact, it is the next step towards human evolution. I can see that everything occurring in society reminds me of the X-Men franchise since the mutants are us, and the ones who consider themselves normal are neurologically typical human beings. Like the films I view, the autistic population are somewhat diagnosed with a "disease" and humanity will do by any means necessary in order to halt and eradicate the "epidemic". How do I know this?...

First of all, Autism Speaks has helped me personally with my autistic son. I am a wonderful mother of two very beautiful, happy sons. To be blamed for autism is just ignorant on your part. I have never heard such hateful and cruel things sad about special needs children and their loving parent in my life. I know that the right thing to do would be polite to you critics but you flat out pissed me off. Screw all of you that waste your time trying to keep others down and hopeless.

Autism Speaks are a horrible neo-nazi-esque bunch of hypocrites, first of all they 'advocate' for people who's brains they dont have. In order words despite the fact that they are neurotypical, they advocate for autistic people, even though NTs and Auties both have their own difficulties to begin with. It's like a blind person advocating for a deaf person, they both have their own damn problems.

There are retarded kids and not retarded kids. The really retarded autistic kids, that's good but I want to mention when it is an excuse for people to raise thier kids like fools. Or unknowingly raised to be transgender. Why are more BOYS autistic? Becuase most parents dont want the world to see they put the soul of a girl in a boys body. I hate when these parents use the name of Autism to cover their, you could say, failure as a parent.

Can I cure you of being who you are? You should be supporting groups like the autism self advocacy network, which... ya know, employs and consults with autistic people, unlike these monsters.

@maxaru but what you don't seem to understand is, unlike you, my child can't even call me mama. so no autism speaks doesn't speak for you. But it has raised more awareness of the issue than any other organization out there. I love my son and would love for him to talk to me someday. I don't think he is broken or needs fixed, but would like people to be more aware of why he seems so different from everyone else in the world and not be given dirty looks everywhere we go.

@maxaru That is just one of the many reasons that I walk for this group. And we don't have to consult with or employ people because most of us take care of them on a daily basis.
