@Rafaoda6c the F-22 does have a tailhook. If you notice so does the F-16, F-15, and just about every air force fighter. Its not fore carrier landings, but emergency landings where an aircraft has to do a high speed approach. Just about every AFB has arrest cables. And before you try to insult me an call me idiot, learn something and watch the youtube video about the F-15 that landed with one wing. Stop thinking you know everything! If something doesn't sound right trying asking questions.

The reason it looks better in FS9 is because it wasnet made for fsx. And to answer to Legendary588 this works well on FSX. the only problem is i find it hard to pick a speed on this. As you either go too slow or too fast. its hard to get the speed perfect

This one is for FS 2004, that's why it's so hokey in FSX. It's not FSX quality, but gives F-22 people their visual fix. I had this one, and it does suck. Just because this one will fly in FSX doesn't mean it was made for it. Alphasim does make good stuff. However, whoever was saying their Abacus one is better is on the junk. Everything I've ever got by them has been generic! Flight Deck 5 has a bunch of JUNK in it, and it was made for FSX. Their hornets eat junk!

I agree completely. I bought Abacus's Fighter Pilot 2 add on for FSX. Bad idea. The exterior skins of the planes aren't rendered correctly, the cock pits look like crap, the flight dynamics are less than accurate, and I can't return it because it's software. I've even e-mailed them, and once I got past: "Yes, I'm sure I have Windows XP, not Vista," they haven't responded to my e-mails. In short $29.99 utterly wasted. Here's hoping Alphasim finally gets around to putting out an F-22 for FSX.

I don't usaly even look at sim videos on youtube but I have been looking for a Raptor that works in FSX (the Iris F-22 is awful IMO). But this video is awsome! I am definitely gonna get this plane. I am sure I can figure out how to make it work in FSX. You must have a horse of a system to get that quality of video and fps.

I personally recommend the F-22. I have both, so let me give u a few tips for both. the F-22 is eaay to fly, a lot of info is displayed right in front of you, learning curve is about five minutes. however the cockpit aside from the consoles looks horrible and it's really easy to overspeed. the f-16 is super realistic, extremely detailed, but it takes forever to learn how to fly, and takes up a lot of frame rate. and it doesn't work without SP2 or Acceleration. f-22=pick up and fly f-16=simulator

I'm having a bit of trouble with this aircraft. The panals like the HUD and all the display panals don't show up on the virtual cockpit, or the 2d cockpit, and the tracer shots don't show up. I can't seem to open the weapons bay either. Can someone tell me how to fix these things? Thanks.

in your f-22 folder open panal then open the panal.cfg then scroll down to th very bottom and change the number there to 6144 then save it and it whould work dont forget to save it

you just have to look in the .../.../.../Flight simulator X/aircraft; in there you have effects gauges and the ALPHA F-22 raptor you have to copy the Alpha F-22 raptor in simobjects/airplanes folder effect in .../effects, gauges in .../gauges and the texture in the .../effects/texture

If you buy this, buy it for the eye candy... that's all it is. And it's barely that. The virtual cockpit is awful. If you want a realistic plane, get the aerosoft f-16.

That might be closer to the truth than you'd think. The USAF has basically already said that F-22s can cruse faster than Mach 1.7 without afterburners and fly at 65,000 ft. I doubt its large wing area, control surfaces, 1+ thrust/weight, 70,000+ pounds of thrust, and thrust vectoring were made just for high angle of attack and stall maneuvers.

There are no glowing trails rendered in FSX, because F-22s have vectored thrust and and that isn't compatible with the way programming planes for FSX works. However, the engines inside the plane do glow.

There are a few game files you might need to edit when using FS2004 planes in FSX. Go to fsinsider and download the pdf that tells you what to change. it might be kind of hard to find the pdf, and once you do, the instructions are overly complicated. But don't worry, it's actually simpler than it first appears. Hope this helps.
