  • @3Dwekickass Very glad to hear someone had the initiative and commitment to actually give something different a chance. Kudos to you, my friend, and welcome to the wonderful world of Opeth

  • 5:40-6:00 with a bad ass entrance after a pretty badd ass riff

  • fucking great!

  • amazing fucking song, the soloing is beyond epic.

  • well, when martin needed to leave the band, i'm really glad that he didn't left cuz of fight or something...but it's a pretty damn shame that he can't drum serious anymore...u guess..

  • @DiamondDimebagDarrel pardon me...Didn't leave*...and I guess hahaha

  • in this vid you can see how every band member enjoys to make music, that's what makes bands good!

  • a little bit slow, don't u? but great!

  • 3:41 - 4:34

One of the most emotional epic moments of Opeth.

  • Id I had not found this comment here, I would have written the same. It's pure magic, emotion, feeling. It's the melodic site of Opeth in the highest concentration I have found so far. The solo beginning at 5:15 is the same...awesomeness³

  • god of guitar!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • The way this song builds up is amazing.

  • yeahhhhhh not humans!!!!!

  • I love the way Mendez headbangs.

  • all epic songs..opeth is the only band i know with no bad songs

  • the guys are like NOT HUMANS! \m/

  • one of my favorite opeth songs. but then again they're all great. this song is just the right song at the right time on deliverance. and yes i agree, the ending of this song is the heaviest shit EVER.

  • the change in 4:34 is so beautiful.

  • @shushiklou11

there´s a song on left hand path by entombed that sounds quite like that end...so maybe it´s ripped off

  • 0:00 - 10:58 =O

  • by far the heaviest, most brutalist, doom metal break down at the end. i've never heard something soooooooo dooomy ever!!!!

  • ah lopez, what rhythm he had. Makes me wish he was still in Opeth.

    Mesmerizing performance.

Keep breathing opeth, you are essential.

  • that's amazing band favourite My favourite Band and that's it

  • 8:43 this moment no exit of my head!!!

  • kick ass solo!

  • what a finale.......

  • now this beat really sounds like jazz...like that ride...it must be really wide

  • The solo part of this song is just brutal... I think it's my favorite solo ever...

  • I spot a fail troll

  • u may not understand whats his real (composer of the song/singer) purpose or meaning in this song and find it stupid and some of us may think the same way to your lyrics... wtf is with u saying that ur a genius to us...like we care

  • @Jingoten Are you on crack? You can't understand this, but yet your music is genius?

    Please GTFO. NOW.

  • @Jingoten You are such a faggot.

  • @Jingoten There's kinda no other way of seeing that comment but negatively. You make yourself out to be a right arsehole.

  • The ending is a perfect example of doom metal, for those that say there isn't any doom in Opeth.

    Awesome fucking ending.

  • progressive metal

  • hahahha no

  • yeah im agreeg, and forest of october too have a doom riff

  • deliverance is the best album in the history of any music.

    mikael is a genious

  • all theyr albums are the best in the history,

  • then youre wrong here

  • Then why'd you view it?

  • too much for ur brain

  • because you are too simple minded

  • I pity your ears. Maybe someday....

  • Musicians at work here!!!

Lopez you are the drum messiah...

  • these guys really know how to play the masterpiece music...really great and talented band...

  • Amen to that

  • here's the deal. i love opeth just as much, if not more than all of you. but your fanboy is sticking out when you say he nails this vocally; its good, but not at all perfect.

  • sings like an angel

    roars like a demon

    just perfect

  • holy shit thats how i discribe him to my friends lol thats kool

  • i just saw them on the 12th with enslaved. best time of my life ever!

it was phenomenal, i have no other words to describe how it was.

  • i missed the in san francisco because I had finals the nest day. My two favorite bands played together and I missed it.

  • PN08? Dude next time fuck the finals!

  • If i had the words to say how good this song is and how it makes me feel, this is where id put them.

  • On this wendsday i saw them play this song front row it was the most amazing thing i'v ever seen!

  • best outro-riff i've heard

  • Deliverance man! :D

  • Beautiful...

  • Saw them performing live last Saturday!YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!! :D :D :D

  • This song is... wooooooow T-T

    I love Opeth

  • Amazing, The End was so Good, Drained me.

  • 8:42 might just be the best single note ever played on Deliverance. It's so sad and depressing.

  • "leave the pee, it was meant for me" xD

    most awesome band on earth!

    Period!

  • Amazing.

  • This is perfect. One of my favs.

  • it's strange how all bands keep the same old metal imagery (long hairon the face, the logo behind them, purely metal guitars-even though i saw marduk with strats, live), even when they play a music that you can't really definee, like this song.

I guess it's an exception, i only know this by opeth,i listen to it to get hiiiiiiigheeeeer (and it works) when i'm simply high, sometimes. seems interesting a band, i look for some more.

    (me! a bluesman!)

  • They play PRS. Not metal guitars at all.

  • Fuck you, you wouldn't know a good guitar if it was shoved up your poser ass.

  • Dude, calm down I LOVE PRS. I dream of having one some day. I was responding to the guy that was saying they were a typical metal guitar and that opeth was a typical metal band.

  • And don't get me wrong PRS can be great for metal, but they are not what you think of when you think of stereotypical metal/shred guitars, like ESP, Jackson, Ibanez, Caparison etc.

To quote the guy I was responding to:

"it's strange how all bands keep the same old metal imagery (long hairon the face, the logo behind them, purely metal guitars-even though i saw marduk with strats, live),"

That is what I was responding too.

  • Sorry I did not see that part. My mistake

  • Haha, no problem bro. Youtube struggles with putting comment replies in the right place.

I see where you are coming from though. I get annoyed with all the kids that think anything but a Warlock or Xiphos can play metal.

  • you didn't get me. I did not say PRS were stereotypical metal guitars, but they are designed for that type of music in general, including progressive metal. Still, you can't deny that the sound, the pickups, the design, and the size of the neck are metallish, right? no judgement here, just mere observations, so crazy limberger fuck with hot blood and tiny arms, fuck off.

  • Well I wouldn't completely agree with your observations, I understand where your coming from. Personally I wouldn't think of PRS first when buying a guitar for metal although they can do metal or any genre great. I'd normally check out Jackson, ESP, Caparison first.

But for fusion, instrumental rock, something where you need a lot of varied tones, a PRS would be the first guitar I would look at.

  • well PRS aren't really designed to be metal guitars at all actually. They just happen to be adaptable to it very well.

  • 6:45+ was fucking epic

  • to perfect to be heared in this fucking world

  • opeth es lo mejor!!

    5 stars

  • opeth are one of the most groovy and artistic bands out there

  • the most artistic band i've ever heard of...

  • im an opeth fan, but i dont like ratm or audioslave.

  • How come many of the Opeth fans also like ratm n audioslave n all these kinds of bands. i like basically everything that cornell has been involved in so dont get me wrong, but i just think its funny cuz mostly metalheads dont listen o anything but metal =)

  • opeth fans tend to be more open minded than the typical "OMFG BR00TAL" metalheads. and it makes sense, opeth are very diverse with influence from many genres other than metal.

  • yeah, i agree. and i hope that with this new setup opeth will continue being diverse. i think watershed is a little bit too straight forward metal... but i hope they will carry on being opethy:P

  • I love Watershed. It wasn't as outwardly bizarre as some of their other stuff, but it had it's strange moments.

  • I kinda disagree with you, "mostly metalheads dont listen o anything but metal" I dunno where you get this idea, maybe the people you know who are idiots but most of the metal fans I personally know are very open minded! and if metal musicians only listen to metal, they are never going to get anywhere..

  • yeah but most of people are ''music noob'' and don't know what's a great composition (by ''great'' i dont mean particulary complex but just well composed. I love listening to blues and jazz BUT especially prog like Andromeda, Dream Theater(of course liquid tens...) and Pain of Salvation(dont know if its really prog) and im a huge pink floyd fan

So, i hate hip hop cause i need to hear more than 1 riff(can i call this rif??) by song. but a few hip hop song have nice lyrics (rare)

  • Even though I agree with you, I've got to say that people value different things in music. Hip hop is based on lyrics and a catchy beat to back them up. Hip hop fans usually don't really concentrate on the music they are listening to. They just want to have something simple and catchy playing in the background.

The way I see it, if that makes them happy, let them do that.

Meanwhile in Sweden: "Leave it be, it was meant for me.."

  • Love the lyrics of this song. "Lost Track of Time, In A Flurry of Smoke" wonder what Mikael was smoking when he wrote that one =P

    Opeth forever

  • Hahahah :P

  • I think the majority of lyrics from Deliverance and Damnation deal with the deaths of his grandfather and grandmother.

  • Mikael is a genius!

  • this song is really a masterpiece. so deep...every time i listen to it, the only thing i can feel is pleasure, pleasure and more pleasure.

  • I'm going to see them this friday \m/ Free concert in Malmö. Come along if you get the chance!

  • i love this song so much xD

is it me or does lopez sometimes look like brad wilk in this video?:D

  • Well.. Brad Wilk is a little more big headed that Lopez, isn't he? But yes, sometimes he could look a little like him :P

  • haha yes he is;P

    never mind I like both

  • Me too.. They're both amazing!

  • yes...two awesome bands

  • Oh yeah. Shame, that Audioslave doesn't exist anymore.. I was really sad when I found out

  • I meant opeth and rage against the machine with that but audioslave were good too

  • Oh okay man.. Yeah RATM may be the band I listen to most of the time by now. But yesterday I started listening to Opeth again. I'd almost forgot how amazing the band and Mikaels voice were! Half a year ago I didn't listen to anything but Opeth all the time! :o

  • 3:42 gives birth to heart-felt beauty...

  • A masterpiece!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Man, what a fucking killer lineup. Akerfeldt, Lindgren, Lopez , Mendez, and Wiberg. I would've killed to see them all live.

  • One of my most favourite Opeth tracks. Cant wait to see them again in September!

  • QUE FANTASTICO DE MADRE Sé MATMATICÁS UN BUENO!!!!!!!!!!!! SE LLAMA CIENDEMUCHOSGRACIAS POR FAVOR!!!!! Nuestro enamorados con el søng. ¿hace dia frio, no?

  • the one the best bands metal bands of all time. i think they will go down in history known as that, if not one of the best bands period.

  • so beatiful song, i see how much lopez enjoying to play this song =)
