Why would you set yourself up for these ridiculous comments is beyond me you should study human behavior, and you will find out about 75% of humans are ignorant
And dumb fucks! So they know it's a birth mark but yet feel the need to make you feel bad, all I'm trying to say is get out of the 75% you are feeding the fire stay behind the lens and maybe you won't be a victim there are plenty of other ways you can get the attention you seek, you already have a camera that's a start.
@The123tester Maybe he doesn't give a fuck about dumbshit youtube commenters. Eyepatchentertainment, you own it. You're awesome. Thanks for your very helpful videos.
@SkinnySlimJim Don't know if you got an answer from somewhere else, but because of the flange to sensor distance, you can't really adapt too many other lenses to nikon bodies. Only nikon mount lenses, tamron adaptall lenses, and a few other "universal" mount lenses have adapters that will work and give you acceptable optical performance. TBH, the nikon lenses are amazing enough that you should just be able to use an older all manual nikon lens where us Canon shooters have to adapt something.
hey. im getting the 7d next week with its kit lens. my dad uses nikon and he has Tamron 28-300mm. since id like to have a tele zoom aswell it would be a cheeper option for me to get an adapter. would this work?
i have tha new canon 60d, and i ordered a fisheye lens for pro optic but it dont fit my camera, i was told to just get a pentax to eos adapter but i have no idea wat would be that best one for me, wat size is tha best way to go........... thanx for ur time
@cuddietv search ebay for PK to EOS ada[ters. there are many $30 silver ring adapters that will do the job fine. around $50 for AF confirm models. Depending on the lens, you may or may not be able to control aperture.
How does the metering work once the Nikon is on the 550D? Can you show how it works or be able to put it into writing? I noticed the metering was showing anything (from -2 to +2) Also, I'm curious what metering mode is the 550D using in video mode anyway? Is it spot, center-weighted, partial, or evaluative? I can't seem to find the answer in the manual nor anyone answered my post on cinema5d.
@fphilip01 The metering is esentially broken when you use alternate mount lenses. Also, I believe video mode is center weighted. The best way to set exposure in video mode on the 7D is to use an external spot meter, or get a marshall HDMI screen that can give you false color data that help with exposure.
And lastly, according to several of the more learned fellows at Calumet, there is a guy who hand fabricates these with great accuracy at a site called Cameraquest. They are supposedly (I havent tried them yet), the best Nikon-Canon adapters made. The end. Please drive though.
Dont get the crapish $45 Nikon adaptors. After a bit of reading,
seems that people have been getting soft images, or soft-corners.
Additionally, they have been focusing right past infinity. Why? Cause the
poopy Asian adapters are just that, poopy. When the when the flange-focal-distance is incorrect, having your focus ring not stop at infinity is the least
of your worries. Lenses are designed to be within X
micrometers of the film plane. And when you arent...
Great series of videos - my friends in Melbourne are amazed by this camera and I would have to say it's the camera I've been waiting for my whole life, to shoot films with the same image quality I used to enjoy years ago when taking 35mm stills in Photography - but I'll also add it was cool to see Bruce Campbell's book and the poster for Corbucci's THE MERCENARY in the background, you are obviously a dude with taste. I'll be buying this sucker later this year for sure...
@apdsm, days later I had erased everything on that card and it still did it after the card was half full. I ended up returning it, the guy at Calumet said it must have been a bad layer on the CF card (Calumet 305x 16gb). I haven't had this issue with any other cards.
@constantgamer247, you can use that L Bracket on any device that has a tripod mount.
Very informative thank you! I looked online and you can pick up some pretty fast primes for cheap and the cheap Nikon adaptor. The only thing is I would only use these lenses in video mode and have no need for AI or AIS right?
Have you encountered any issues with the 7D displaying a vertical battery icon then stopping while videoing? This is different than the overheat icon... This has been happening to me recently when shooting in 720p 60fps... I've read a lot of people talking about overheating, but that's a different icon (red temp guage) and happens after 30 minutes of videoing...
This is happening to me after maybe an hour of stills and maybe 5 or 6 video 2 - 3 minute video clips. Just curious!
This means your CF card is not fast enough to keep up with the video. I had the same problem until I bought a new CF card. I bought a 16GB UDMA ready 60mbp/s and have no problems now.
I actually have UDMA 305x (60mbp/s) CF cards... I found that the issue was happening because I had filled the particular card a few times, protected images / video, and then erased all.... Leaving scattered (fragmented in computer HD terms) data on the card. Then, when trying to record 720p 60fps, it gets the buffer error (vertical battery)... I proved this by trying a new card on my camera, 720p works fine... I put the fragmented card in a brand new 7D, it gets the buffer error.
I've a number of manual lenses adapted to EF, Nikon, Tamron Adaptall, Olympus OM, Pentax K, Yashica/ Contax, and M42. Biggest problems with shooting this way are: Most viewfinders (I now have 40D, live view) are too small, focus screen not optimal for manual focus, and of course you must manually stop down. Nevertheless if you can get a good enough lens cheap enough, it is sometimes worth it.
Nevermind on the L Bracket, I see one on Amazon (Bower Folding L Grip Flash Bracket) ... what about the quicktime .MOV's though, should I be able to view them on dual core PCs with 2GB plus? I'm hoping you say I need a new codec :)
Try downloading VLC, should fix the stuttering playback problem, for ediitng, it will be choppy unless you render the footage to a different codec like cineform
Great video series! I recently picked up the 7D and have learned a lot from these. I'm having a hard time finding the L Bracket you show in the video, do you have a make or a link to it? All the ones I see online are $125+...
Also, will the 1080p and 720p .MOV's play on dual core machines with 2GB of ram? I've tried this on 3 dual core PCs they're all choppy so far.
Hi! i have a CANON EOS 7D and also have Sandisk Extreme III 16gb with 30MB/s. Can u tell me if this card is ok for video, i know its not UDMA. Should i go for the EXTREME IV 8gb with 45MB/sec. Please help me out!

But for those who precariously
walk the fine edge of ruminescent capezious quadrangles within the zone of
radiocity (non-Hodgkin's), the latter portion becomes academic. I'm sure
this is old-hat to you all, but worth repeating nonetheless and notwithstanding.

Additionally, if the coatings are not calibrated to within the XXY conduit
radius necessary to facilitate properly sharp images, and the bokeh will
suffer as a result of the image reticulation coefficient, especially when
humidity is slightly higher then normal. Of course, all this is mute at
higher elevations and in temperate zones.

did you record that?
if yes what did you record it with?
is there some sort of filter on the lens? or is that the window?
what fps was it shot at? (it seems as if there maybe some dropped frames or its slowed down but whatever it is it looks really cool)
