I have scanned all the comments but I really want to know the success rate people have had using your recipe or any other homemade one for that matter. Bottom line is does this really work? Our schnauzer is in bad shape over a flea infestation in our condo complex outside. So does it rally work?
Could you put 1/2 the water in the sprayer first, (you could fill it in the sink) add the drops of stuff and shake it up, then add the rest of the water and shake again? a lot easier with less mess? just curious, thanks
trying this curious i wonder what lemongrass oil would affect, i know some natural spot ons have lemongrass in them, plus lemongrass smells amazing, wouldnt recomend it for cats cats hate citrus
Thank you. I actually would have set the camera back if I had a proper one. I was using a digital camera propped up on wooden box, and the desk was actually my vanity which didn't give me alot of room. I would have used a funnel, but my boyfriend used it for the oil in his race car, lol. I have gotten a better camera though so hopefully the vids will be more clearer.
Great video info and good presentation skills too. I will definately be trying this on my currently 5 month old German Shepherd. If I might make just two suggestions. When you go through the mixing procedure, could you perhaps set the cam back a bit so as we can see your work table as you do your mixing and filling and when you pour the finished product from your pourer jug in to the bottle, would it not be easier and less risk of spilliage by using a funnel in the bottle.?
Super easy and no mixing... just get a bottle of tea tree oil from your local health food store and apply it to your finger and rub on the pet (behind the ears, between shoulder blades and at base of tail). Be careful; some dogs react very strongly to tea tree. My boxer cannot tolerate it and foams and drools after a tea tree application. Lavender does nothing for the fleas but it does have a calming effect on the pet. May counter-act (somewhat) the distress from being sprayed w/tea tree oil.
I will try this for my cats. I hate using advantage, it's expensive and can't be good for them bc its full of chemicals, however it does work. I hope this works. Great video. Thanks.
@Helpful2You lol i gave you a thumbs up just for the fun parts lol, but good info too :) umm just a little info, you could fill the spray bottle with the water first that way you don't have to pour it so slow from the measure cup, then add the oils then shake :) works just as well without making you need to go pee :) lol too funny thanks :) i loved the little comments you wrote in too :) i get goofy at times too, i'm 49 lol old don't mean you lose sense of humor :)

Really we are itching I have noticed on feet and ankles mostly it us so itchy it feels like someone has dumped itch powder in my socks so are they in the carpet do we need to rip out carpeting how do we kill them in shoes and clothes please help my email is ldesouza4726@gmail.com thank you
hi thanks for your video, we noticed we have fleas we don't have a any pets but we think we got them from our neiboors we have only seen about 3 but i have been getting bit we have been spraying out bed everyday and vacuuming we are also washing are blankets. how long does it take to get rid of them we don't have any pets so will it be easier to get rid of them. we are using lavender oil 6 drops and tea tea 3 do you have any other suggestions
@purifiedhealth08 It sounds like you're doing all that needs to be done, and yes it is alot easier to get rid of them if you don't have any pets...however...if you are getting them from your neighbor, and they visit you frequently, or you visit them, then the fleas will be harder to get rid of. I hope you'll be able to get rid of them soon.
@Helpful2You it was funny, but Thanks for sharing i have "LAVENDER OIL" scent for burning,, and i ALWAYS keep TEA TREE OIL,cause its good stuff, but u gave me the idea to mix them :) i just made a REALLY strong Ratio.i have a my lil gringo Spike "Chiuahuah" and he came in the house infested w/Fleas cause my Neighbor has like 10 cats, so i de-flead him and put advantage on em everything was good till a week ago, they are all attacking my 2yr old daughter, i nuked em w.borid thankfully i have tile
@bubblefish0413 Absolutely. I use it on our carpet and furniture every day, and I also spray our bed mattresses before changing the sheets every other day. I also found that using a 1/4 cup of flea spray with one drop of Dawn dishsoap to a half gallon of hot water as a cleaning agent when mopping my floor, deep cleans nicely and leaves a good shine...and it doesn't leave my floor feeling oily or slippery.
@nikolena9679 The time it takes to get rid of the fleas depends on the flea infestation. If your pet has a heavy infestation, it may take as much as a couple of weeks. It is safe enough to use everyday so the infestation drops dramatically if used every day. Use it after the bath. For best results, add 4 drops of Lavender Oil to 1/2 cup Dawn dishwashing liquid, (this is safe and recommended). Rinse well, towel dry, spray a generous amount & massage it in, avoiding the eye area.
took my cat to two vets, and still said there was nothing they could do about the flees, and now they are all over the house, we used a flee bomb but the came back a few days later, can anyone help?
@MrAnimeking9000 Wow, that's strange they told you there was nothing they could do. My suggestion would be to use straight Lavender oil and apply it from the neck to the middle of your cat's back, then massage it in really good. My boyfriend and I did this to a stray dog we found that was infested with fleas. Also, I would suggest applying a generous amount of Lavender Oil on a cat scarf, then leave the scarf on your cat for as long as he/she will tolerate it. The longer the better. Good Luck =)
You could of course use a kitchen funnel when pouring into bottle. Fast and no spills haha great video though am gonna try this in combo with my other methods. Thanks!
Does the Lavender really work? Would Lavender bags deter them? Watching your video just gave me an idea.
@MrNativeDancer Lavender bags? I don't see why not. Fleas don't like Lavender, and in my experience with our pets, the Lavender works wonders. As far as the kitchen funnel, LOL...I would have used one if our American Bull Terrier wouldn't have eaten it, haha
@leiwulunhui Oh totally. It's alot safer and our dog loves it. It also healed his skin nicely, because the Frontline that the Vet used on him irritated him. Thank you for watching, and I'm glad you liked it.
I love this, as i am currently using frontline and comfortis on all 7 of my dogs. It is not only very expensive but also risky knowing that many side effects can follow any of the doses they are given. I am getting ready to try your homemade flea remedy but am not sure how often i should be spraying them when i do start..? I have tried other natural flea preventions, but none have worked so far. How often do i need to spray this on them?
@yoohoo201 I started using it everyday on our dogs for about a week, then switched to every other day. Another thing I've recently discovered is bathing them in Dawn dishwashing liquid as well as treating them with this spray. I bathe them once a week with Dawn, and spray them every other day with the homemade flea spray. Our dogs had fleas so bad, and this is the only thing I've found that works on them. I hope it works just as well for you : )
@MihzSaxon Yes it does. The Tea Tree Oil is a great way to kill head lice and their eggs. However if you use the Tea Tree Oil remedy for Head Lice, then it's necessary to follow up every week for three to four weeks (depending on how bad the infestation is), whereas with regular Nix and over the counter treatments you only have to follow up two weeks after the initial treatment. But the Tea Tree Oil sure is worth it.
@MihzSaxon Here is the recipe for Lice Removal using Tea Tree & Lavender Oils ~ ~ Home-Made Lice Shampoo: 3 drops Tea Tree Oil ~ 4 drops Lavender Oil ~ 1 Cup regular Shampoo. Add the Tea Tree & Lavender Oils to the 1 Cup of shampoo. Work up a good lather, rinse (the warmer the water, the better), repeat.
Home-Made Lice Conditioner: 3 drops Tea Tree Oil ~ 2 drops Lavender Oil ~ 1/2 Cup Conditioner. Apply to freshly washed hair, wrap hair in hot wet towel, let sit for 5 min. Rinse well.
@MihzSaxon I Need To Make A Correction ~ For The Shampoo: It's 1/4 cup shampoo with the oils. For The Conditioner: It's 1/2 cup Conditioner with the oils. Sorry about that, LOL. Wrap your hair in a hot wet towel & let it sit for 8 to 10 minutes (NOT 5 MIN.)
I wash my dogs with st ives shea and oatmeal body wash and then spray them with skin so soft for flea control. The shea and skin so soft repels fleas. The oatmeal soothes the skin. My labadoddle had a bad skin infection that even the vet had problems controlling the body wash worked
@12quillemall5321 It's amazing how well home remedies work isn't it? They are so much safer than some of the shelf brands, and more often than not, some products can trigger allergies in some children and adults. Have you ever thought about doing a video on your flea treatment remedy? I'm sure it would be helpful to alot of people. Thank you so much for sharing = ))
@Helpful2You Those flea drops that are a frontline for fleas made my small shih tzu go into a seizure. I thought he was going to die. From that moment I decided if i can't use it, neither can my dogs. Thanks for yor homemade flea spray. I am going to try it.
