that's not a class A amp. Is a class A/B (two 6v6s). also, if you want to push this amazing amp further into clipping territory, simply use a clean boost like a Boss GE7. Those digital muti-effects racks blow. No offence. The chord progression you wrote is AWESOME!!
@ruk777 actually, I'm pretty darn sure it's not an A/B because mine doesn't have two 6v6's. It has a collection of other weird tubes. I'll double check when i get home, though. Do you have a source?
@RDArtist81 lol well, i did play straight through for a bit, but i wanted to show that a pedal (albeit a not so good one) could work well through one of these.
Plus, quite frankly, this amp doesn't sound that good. It wasn't that wonderful when it was built in 1957, and it ain't so hot now. So turning it up really loud just doesn't work that well.
Also, this video was posted almost 3 years ago lol
@RDArtist81 on another note, if you would like a better video, I am heading home from doing research in couple of weeks, so I could make it and notify you when it was done. It shouldn't be that hard for me to do a quick one. Just reply to this post if you are interested.
First of all way to much talking.... and listeners do NOT want to hear your cheezy pedalboard. We come to hear the 1333 amp, WITHOUT any effects. You people kill me that have these cool amps on here and then put some crap on the floor in front of it. What a waste, i know you're young but, get a clue...
@ruk777 haha, well, this video was posted over 3 years ago when I was still in high school, so that's part of it. Hm, i can't remember if I've tried a clean boost with this amp yet... I'll give it a run! Part of the problem just is that the amp is pretty old, and I'm not sure how well the previous owner took care of it. It's hard to get good sounds out of it.
(For the record, i sold that Boss pedal about 3 months later. I have real pedals now haha)
Thanks for the explanation! I'm using a Randall 150W half-stack right now which is alright but it's solid-state and way too dry. Sounds perfect clean. My effects are either home-made or my very cheap crappy array I bought at a church sale years ago. I'm 32 and have been playing casually since I was 16. My guitar belonged to my brother which is a 1982 Fender U.S.A made Stratocaster (butter and white with a map le neck) He died when I was 14 so ... but anyhow,I'll let ya know when I get something!
Uhm, I'm wondering why you're using the pedal to get the distortion? It is my assumption that tube amps are highly sought after because they break up so nicely! When I get around to it I'll post some vids of my stuff. I don't have any tube amps or fancy effects. I'm still looking into what I want though. Hopefully an Orange!
well, yes and no. you see, the older, class A amps, such as this one, have a very unique and not so wonderful overdrive sound. the better amps were and are designed to break-up, so when they do, it is nice, creamy, and clear. however, this amp was cheaply made, so when it distorts it is thick, which is cool, but muddy and the volume becomes variable. therefore, i use the distortion/overdrive from my ME-50 to get an artifically clear sound. it works well tho.
cool on the videos! yea, take your time buying gear because waiting and getting exactly what you want helps you to truly enjoy the art. good luck in your hunt for gear! and thanks for the comment!
Try changing the tubes or something, i dont get why it would mud up at high volumes.. the tubes are supposed to be pushing more frequences therefore it should do the opposite
Sorry about coming down hard on ya young fella...you're really an alright guy.

You really should play that straight through. Very aggravating to see you used that Boss pedal. Shame on you. Just kidding....but not really.

@onerelic wow, I pretty much agree, but that's so mean bro! LOL..... the guy took the time to share this rare amp with us. Give him some kudos.
These amps do shine without pedals though. Like I said up here before, just use a clean boost

Hey thanks! I'll never give it up. In my videos I'm not playing it -needs strings and some minor work done. I've got it put away for now. Rock on!
