Damn yanks. damn rebs. ...... i think i'll go have a big mac tho. lol well i take that back, not damn rebs, i am with the missouri guerillas ;o bum bum bummmmm
@Tlax13 .As a Confederate reenactor for over 25 years I am here to tell you, NO self respecting Southerner Would be caught in a yank slophouse such as Micky D's Headquartered in ILLINOIS. As a group portraying The 3rd KY , and later the 2nd KY Inf.CSA, We only stopped at the best Southern owned Places. You know General Hardie's and KFC- Kentucky "s Finest Commessary. Thank you Sir. and I bid you a Goodevening. PS No Philly Cheesesteaks either.
There are people from a bunch of units fighting in this skirmish. I know there are members of one or two VA regiments, the 29th Tennessee, the 63rd Tennessee, maybe another Tennessee infantry unit or two on the Confederate side, some independent cavalry, the 1st East TN Artillery on The Confederate side.
On the Northern side, I know there are members of the 8th TN US and the 79th NY
Period tactics are one of the most misunderstood things about the war. Part of the problems is that in reenactments, due to space, and trying to keep the crowed entertained, they get way too close to each other. They would have been shooting at people very far away in lines, and accuracy was actually VERY low despite the rifles combine fear, and not being able to even hardly see through the smoke. Also, they had single shots and cav. would have broken through spread out lines.
The hit at 2:15 was pretty good actually--it's always a problem about what to do with your rifle. You really hate to drop it, but you made it look pretty good holding on.
Thats my cuz at 1:44

Is This from a certain unit? I am the wife of an Ren- actor and thought I saw several faces that I know.

Did they actually just stand in rows in the real battle? seems like a REALLY bad tactic!

does it really matter if they're fat?
ChromeGhost0219 3 years ago
Yea I figured that out too. Most of them are fat or look fat. In the American Civil War Confedrates starved.
devenci 3 years ago
towards the end they did, in beginning they were much more regularly fed.
