no it wouldnt,not without the turbo, i owned a 99 impreza 2.5 rs, and i sold it and got this, both are 5 speed and my cougar 2.5 is faster. 2.5V6 vs your 2.5 4 cylinder. plus my cougar is a cougar S with the 196hp DOHC 24 valve v6, i dont think there are any on youtube but look it up somewhere else. the other 2.5v6 that comes in these like the ZN model or the C2 model has 170 hp stock. i dont know bout the 2.0 4cylinder much.

i know this is an old comment but i had to reply, dude the cougar s never made it into production, it came so close tho that they still have the parts and supercharger for it but it never made it ... not sure if this sorce is right but i have never seen a cougar s and i looked it up on wiki says it never made it into production look it up , oh and by the way i drive a cougar zn and i love it.your car must have the s badge that sombody got off ebay but yea lol no such thing.
