well yet another time i must say, all you people who diss DR are INCOMPITANT COWORDS! there. The DR actualy bufs like 1/4 damage away while cloaked and takes away like 1/2 of dmg while cloaking so, YOU CAN SURVIVE THE EXPOLOSION AT END OF PAYLOAD. Gives you a second chance aka gay huntsman sniper getting a neckshot but getting a headshot. Plus you can take out stick minefeilds up to 16, anny more and it overcomes the buff and you die annyway,

I never really liked the dead ringer, and I never really understood why.

Normal invisiblity cloak is better than both unlocks - you can pick up ammo to replenish the cloak, meaning that if you're careful enough you can make it all the the way across dustbowl's final stage by picking up ammo boxes and fallen weapons.

@camydoger i agree, all cloaks have some of their own abilities, normal is good in standard maps, for quick attacks and less carefull. the 2nd one u get is very handy to go around sapping, cuz u can stay invisible as long as u want and thats really handy. death ringer is good for surf maps jail, so if someone is spawn killing it might be handy

Dead ringer is useful for more than just surfing. It's saved my ass many times when attacking on payload/dustbowl. I still think the normal cloak is better of the three, with the dr closely following.

2 ways to identify dead ringer use:

1. After killing the spy, wait for a while and hear the uncloak noise

2. If he was in disguise, look at body, notice mask still on, get raped by the spy

right click then the spy will get it out when you get hit by something then it will create a fake corpe and th cloak will activate and cloak you for 8 s. Dont use the dead ringer guys cloak is too short you still get damage after they shoted you and uncloaking is extremly loud everyone can hear that

I just luv the dead ringer, when i first tried it i failed like shi- but after a while i pwned with it! it´s so funny just running out in the battle field and go like "lalalalalala" and when some 1 shoot u you get cloaked and get behind him, 4 seconds after the backstab he think ur haxing if he´s a n00b XD and when u stab the one who just shot u it kinda feels like u come back frome the dead to get yer revenge on the guy who killed u! >:D

Cloak & Dagger: Aslong as you are not moving the cloak lasts forever, when you move however, your cloak is drained, when your cloak runs out you will be visible to your enemies, you can stand still to recharge it.

Really nice if you are patient and like to actually 'Spy'

Dead Ringer: You lose your ability to cloak, but when you bring the dead ringer up, you will drop a fake corpse and be cloaked for 8 seconds, very useful if you like to outsmart your enemies.

you need to run into the enermys line of fire, get shot, turn on stealth, pray you can make it to your opponents within 10 seconds, and then just get killed by whoever see's you backstab his mate.

If u hold out the dead ringer watch and get hit the watch will make it seem as if u died and put your corpse on the ground and instantly cloak u, giving u a chance to run away. It can put out fire if u are on fire. I heard u can even survive from the train in the map "well" :DDD

The Dead Ringer is really nice. I got one too, it was my first drop. After that the drops sucked.

But ... you cannot go stealth anymore at random, you MUST be shot to go into stealth mode. However, as 99% of all people think you really died you can do a lot of damage !

Second note: you DO NOT need to go stealthed the full 8 seconds. Stealth till no one looks for you, then cancel it.

You can only use it when it's at full power.

Third note: when you are on fire, use this device for 0.1 seconds. You "drop dead" and are no longer on fire. And because you only used it for 0.1 seconds, you can use it right away again.

Last note: after you "dropped dead" you can still be set on fire again. So only use it when the pyro cannot reach you anymore and you are good to go.
