  • Unreal Engine 4 will be presented this Week!

  • The real time rendering need approx 2.5 TFlops of processing power.

  • That was extremely colorful and filled with neon. I'm assuming you're more interested cartoon critters or high fantasy, in which case an Unreal demo might not be the best choice

I wish we had more bleak and genuine dark settings. Games that feel hopeless and lonely and not just forcibly badass would be nice. Good ol' Demons/Dark Souls is a good example.

  • i can only imagine a classic survival horror resident evil with these graphics or a silent hill to be honost i would most likely be to fucking scared to play them lol

  • i think we can all agree on adding helpful opinions just do it in professional way

  • The unreal engine has changed so much.

I remember playing Unreal tournament 2004 back then.

    Good times.

  • That's a heavy cigarette. Knocks the guy's head forward in the helmet when he shouldn't even feel it. Looks great. Might need to upgrade me system this next year to keep up.

  • Oh and if an of these mean anything to you, radiosity, light radiation, object physics, skeletal and muscle simulation, particle effects, dynamic shadows, dynamics lights, live render, etc etc you know that this demo is great.

  • Are you all on drugs, the point of this demo is in the TITLE!! It is no a pre-rendered demo all of this is done in real time!!... My Goodness!!

  • y does he try welding the lock open when he can just smash it

  • COLOUR WE NEED CLOUR is what i would say if i were a bitch >.> imagine this tech demo being bright and sunny u would think that its a fucking joke

  • What kinda game is this, first time seeing it..

  • ohhh amazing a pre rendered video from a 6 Year old engine!

everybody knows unreal Games look like shit and this console generation never can reach this 1080p Promised quality ... oh sure gears of war use this Masterpiece of technologie xD

    insert the disc ...

    start the Game ...

    Compare with this trailer ...

    ok stop Laughing ...itzz enough

  • @Hirsch59 it's not prerendered

    and it's not about consoles

this would not be possible on any console

this is real time on a pc

and they're using this technology as the building blocks of unreal engine 4

  • Was this suppose to be impressing?

  • The problem isn't rendering these visuals, top of the line PC cards can do it no problem, the problem is the cost in making them. This little skit probably cost 3-4 million dollars if not more..

Making an entire game like this would be astronomical cost and if the game isn't any good it would be a massive loss and bankrupt companies..Unreal should focus on making tools to lower the cost of producing these visuals, that is where the main need is..

  • Fuck Epic Games, biggest Bullshit Company on Earth, Traitors and Cheaters to the Customers, all i say is the MASSIVE fail at UT3 in the past and what they did to the loyal UnrealTournament Fans!!! I just can say.. fuck yourself hard epic games, i hope this company will go to hell finally.

  • batman aint got shit on this guy

  • @Soriphen I really doubt this is in game graphics

  • @MvSly14 What's there to doubt? It was made on a PC with 3 SLI'd GTX 580s. There isn't any pre-rendering going on as they did adjust options on the fly such as MSAA, shadows and DoF. This is obviously not possible on current gen consoles, but, on PC it's not impossible. The average consumer would have to shell out loads of money to make a game look that good though lol.

  • This is like final fantasy graphics w/ epic style 2 it

  • nice, but yeah I'm kinda over the dark grim look. People do walk around in the daylight and fight too lol

  • it looks really good

  • people have so much room to critique. if you want something better, get out there and make it.

  • ok but what about in-game.?

  • @TheLovesoul1 Well, that is "in-game" graphics ya know. It's also a demo, so, it's just a representation of how graphics look while playing a game...not a pre-rendered cutscene, hence the phrase "Real Time".

  • @Soriphen what if they used a "fractal engine"?

  • @TheLovesoul1 Oh god fractals...dunno what they have to do with UE3.

  • i agree with the first guy, games need to take the lead from uncharted. if you're game doesn't look good with vibrant colors its not worth it. There are so many games with dark colors and good graphics that im starting to think these engines wouldn't look good with color, its all a gimick.

  • oh great, more grim dark shit

heres an idea...fucking colour! get some green and yellow up in this shit, not just black red and brown

  • @TheTastyPineapple Totally agreed! but i think they use dark shit because most games now adays looks best at the dark weather for example GT5 looks better during night than day IMO! same for other games i dunno really but i hope this would turn out good

  • @TheTastyPineapple

This was pretty colorful. Lots of green and blue as well as that red.

Fuck, everything that's visible in this video other than characters are fucking NEON.
