  • what do you use for the eyes?

  • I'm disappointed cuz that isn't even what the REAL buddah looks like. That's the American version. And frankly it's a stupid and disrespectful buddah as well. And don't criticize me for criticizing Americans. Cuz I am American FYI

  • @chickenpop755 In fact this is Budai (Laughing Buddha), often confused with Guatama Buddha, but a totally different story. There is no such thing as an "american buddha".

  • what is that like brown paint you use at the end an you wash??

  • Are you going to make a Chinese dragon? That would be epic :D

  • Wonderful job Dan. Thank you so much for the video I enjoy it with every visit. Please, can you tell me the name of the music of this video, it's awesome like your art.

  • @ranxerox01

Thank you for the nice comment! Sorry, I'll have to dig up the name of the music. It is "royalty free" music and I use a number of sites. I'll see if I can find it and respond again.

    Take care

  • Hello, what is that black drippy paint you use to make it look darker? If so were could I find it at? Thank You.

  • @TheDevilshellhound

Hello there. That is just black paint with water added. Nothing special.

    Dan

  • that kind of white paper and tissue paper

  • @emvestos

Hi again. I put a final "skin" of white cloth dipped into white glue. That is what you are seeing. I don't use tissue paper at all.

    Good luck.

    Dan

  • because you do not doc Discovery Kids

  • @emvestos

I'm really trying to understand. But I still don't know what you are saying. I apologize.

    Dan

  • WHAT THAT SUCH FAILURE TO COVER VC USA RIBBON AND CREPE PAPER MAKING THOSE WHITE CEDA PIPA

  • @emvestos

I'm sorry. Something has been lost in translation. I don't understand this comment.

    Dan

  • @DanMonsterMan how much did this cost you to make

  • @TheReptilesNetwork

It's hard to know exactly how much it costs me to make these. I spent $50 just on the cloth for the robes on this project. Other than that I have to buy glue and paint. So it might have cost me another $50. I buy gallons of glue and paint and use it on many projects. So it is cheaper if you do it that way. It is more expensive if you are just making one project since you must buy all of the colors. I don't know if that helps.

    Dan

  • i love it! i am wating for your next project! if you already think it tell me what is please

  • @gregoC13

Thanks for the nice comment. As a matter of fact I am currently working on a very interesting project. It will be a combination of a beautiful woman, a butterfly, and a lizard or other reptile. Thanks for asking.

  • another awesome paper mache sculpture! where did you get the teeth?

  • @LogansSketchbook

Thank you very much! Those teeth are just made from Fimo (a polymer clay that you bake in the oven) just like my dragon teeth.

    Take care

    Dan

  • how you do that you use this dough to make teeth and herons

  • @emvestos

Hello there. I use a polymer clay to make teeth and claws (?). The product I use is called "Fimo" but there are several different kinds of clay. You sculpt them and then bake them in the oven.

    Dan

    Dan

  • You're so good, you're scary!

  • @rriverstone1

You are too kind. Thank you for the very nice comment!

    Dan

  • I don't understand why they see the god Buddah as a fat man, when all reality he was a very very skinny prince.

  • @zaperatus

I agree. I'm not sure how the Laughing Buddha evolved from the original Buddha. Except for the enlightenment part, it would seem to be the polar opposite of the original Buddha.

    Thanks for writing.

    Dan

  • Dan!! Man, so cool to see something that's not a dragon! Though.. i still love your dragons/monsters more hurr hurr hurr XD

    This is so Awesome :)

  • @moonblader

Yeh...I can't stay away from dragons for very long. I always end up back with that. In fact, I've made two dragons just recently. But they are gifts and must be kept secret so I didn't film them. But I have a dragon-ish thing (that's not an actual dragon) I'm making now. It will be more to your liking. Stay tuned. Thank you for the kind words.

    Dan

  • The fact that you have the talent not only to create these works of art, but also to film the making of them is wonderful and must be applauded!

  • @Bonobo3D

Hi Bonobo! Nice to hear from you! That's very nice of you to say. It definitely slows me down to film while I'm working. But it is worth it to get nice comments like yours. It inspires me to make more. Thank you so much.

    Dan

  • verry nice how much masking tape do you go through?

  • @johnny1bucket

I know, I use way more masking tape than is needed. I buy those contractor bundles at Home Depot. I'm sure I went through a few rolls on this one since he's as big as I am.

    Dan

  • From the neck down he looks like me! ... except I gotz stubby toez ...

  • @mallardhead

You are too funny! I hope you aren't exactly like him from the neck down. He's missing some important parts!

    Dan

  • @DanMonsterMan

LOL ... guess if you're a paper mache being you don't need that ...

  • @mallardhead

I guess if you are enlightened, you don't need that either. But everyone needs coffee.

    Dan

  • Always fun to watch, Thanks

  • @SeanyJonesPaperArmy

Thank you! I'm glad you like this one.

    Dan

  • @FreaksNdolls

You are very nice to say that. Thank you! I fought him a little bit in places. Wasn't sure I'd get the feeling I wanted. But, in the end, I think he turned out happy. That's the main thing. I'm very happy that you like him.

  • The way you work with paper mache is awe inspiring.

  • @Crixe

Hi there. Sorry, I missed this comment. You were the first. Thank you for your kind words. I'm always nervous before getting the first couple comments. You never know how people will react to art. So thank you again.

    Dan

  • @DanMonsterMan you should never be nervous you have a true gift ! and anyone that dislikes what you do has a general ignorance for art. its a true joy to watch your videos are you a youtube partner? :)
