  • VERY GOOD!!! I couldn't get enough of it.

  • im singing it in chorus class the video just made me rethink that

  • I love Alfred Hitchcock, and always that this music was just for his show. So today I watched "Little Einsteins " with my 3yro., and learned the name and composer, ... learn something new every day.

  • Good Eeevening

  • BEAUTIFUL!!! It's absolutely Amazing!!! I love this video and how you made everything fit perfectly with the music! The puppets are brilliant! I really love and admire all the creativity you put into this. Did you make the puppets? They are unbelievably awesome!!! I would say this is far better then anything Tim Burton has done in the last few years. BRAVO! Congratulations man, EXCELLENT VIDEO!!!! :D

  • Very cool! It definitely has a Tim Burton-y feel to it.

  • @ZombifiedDoom i was thinking that too!

  • so tim burtonian

  • who is this magnificant composser?! I truly must kow!

  • @HorrorRockGB the composer is Charles Gounod

  • @kallemick Thank you good sir!

  • @HorrorRockGB your welcome :)

  • Truly amazing, like many people said, Tim Burton wouldn't have done better! Thanks for sharing! I love it <3

  • i'm second violin for this song in a philharmonic orchestra and I absolutely love this piece!! It really gets me in the Halloween mood :)

  • I was getting in my car late one night and had the radio tuned into classical music. This song was playing and I burst out laughing in picturing Alfred Hitchcock. XD Loved the video.

  • honestly i love this piece C: im a french horn playing this piece with a philharmonic orchestra, and even though i dont play that much of a part in it, i really do love it xD

  • If Tim Burton was the producer of toy story

  • I found this compelling and entertaining and will post this near Halloween! Thank you for sharing your artistry with the rest of us!

  • Simply amazing. Like many have said before me, I thought of Tim Burton while watching this.

  • That was fantastic. Around Halloween, I intend to share this with my kids. Very good imagination and a novel way to introduce the young to classical music.

  • Dude, you need to beworking with Tim Burton

  • Amazing animation. I agree with Grandy 12, about this being reminiscent of Tim Burton's animated works, such as the corpse Bride, and The Nightmare Before Christmas.

  • I preformed this song once for a competition. It holds such good memories for me. This video helped me learn the style of the piece and I was able to copy it for good effect. Solo and ensemble with a baritone can you believe that. I will forever love this song.

  • C is for Cemetary

  • vraiment très bien fait!

  • Please do not compare Tim Burton to Alfred Hitchcock

  • Wonderful! Just the right mixture of humour and pathos.

  • This was pretty good! But, be prepared for a bit of critic stuff from yours truly.

The puppets animations could have been a bit smoother at some parts, while other parts were pretty spot on. I like that you took a 'Tim Burton' style on this story, and it was very well-thought out. Some spots where the music was strong, could've been more on time at some parts, but still, I give it a 'thumbs up' and if I could rate out of 5, I'd give a 4.3.

  • Fonseca san, great job, very enjoyable!

  • I wouldn't say this was Tim Burton's early works...

I would say this was his present works!

  • Beautifully done. This is one of my favorite classical pieces, and your video compliments it perfectly.

  • DID U MAKE THIS BY YOURSELF?! IF U DID, THIS IS GREAT!

  • Would LOVE to see a part 2 to this! Awesome job! Thank you!

  • Excellent! Viewing this every Halloween is now a tradition in our family.

Where can I get the music? I really want a copy of this version - the ones I own are not the same. Please, where can I get a copy of music?

Thank you for a delightful viewing experience.

  • @AnnMarita its the arthur fiedler and the boston pops version off of an album called classics from the crypt! Enjoy!

  • @fonsecaart How big is the coffin? P.S. AWESOME work, it reminds me of Tim Burton's.

  • could have done without the long ass production intro

  • This is some serious awesomeness... y'all could make a career out of this doing computer animation and stuff! (:D

  • Is this available on DVD? I think I'd like to have it shown on HDTV as the opener for my sendoff (not for years, I hope, but it's really never too early to plan, lest I end up with some "Hallelujah Harry" droning a canned religious eulogy over my box).

  • Jusqu'à ce jour, j'associais cette musique au générique des séries d'Hitchcock.

Maintenant, j'aurai aussi cette magnifique réalisation en tête !

So far, I associated this music to Hitchcock's serial music ; from now on I will have your wonderful production in mind as well ; congratulations !

  • it was very good but when i first saw it at the begining i almost had heart arrest

by my fear 3 times but then i calmed down i believe that the puppet wasnt actually dead just the others thought it was dead dont worry i am fine and i will vote you positive

  • @DexyART and or 21 guns, depends if you like green day or not

  • so this is how we got Jack Skelington =3

  • amazing! so much work. Very very clever. Great music. thanks Charlie.

  • If someone said to me this was Tim Burton's early works, I wouldn't doubt it for a second.

  • @Grandy12 Now if we could just get Marcel Marceau to do it

  • Aw - this is such a beautiful little tale of tragedy and woe, and terror!

  • Great video, appropriate to the music. Have been back to watch this repeatedly, over the years it's been on YouTube.

  • Quite charming. (:

  • I know that the music is best known for Alfred Hitchcock presents, but i do think old Alfred would have loved this, absolutle masterclass well done mate, one of the best vids on you tube cant wait for your next one!!

  • Tim Burton style...nice

  • The puppet died so we all could live. G_D bless.

  • The animation is amazing!

  • Not just any simple mind can have readily at its disposal all the elements displayed here,, , I find this extremelly clasic and totally inmune to time a great piece of art perhaps. ernest.

  • I'm having to play this in band for an ensemble and it's kickin' my butt.

  • My most favorite part, the hand rising up from the earth at the very end. Brilliant!

  • this SOOOO reminds me of tim burton

  • The eerie and strange puppets go perfectly with the song.

  • AH FTW

  • im playing this in band. such a fun song. :DDD

  • love the video

  • Beautiful. just Beautiful. I loved it.

  • Fantastic visual representation of the piece, and I couldn't be happier that the upcoming generation will know this as Gounod's Funeral March rather than that "song from Alfred Hitchcock."

  • Wow! It's so BRILLIANT, I can't find words.......your gestures are so nuanced.....Thankyou for sharing your dream.

  • very nice work!!!!!! impressive! I'm sure this took a lot of time to create the puppets and make the video - really neat!

  • Wow! We're playing this in my Symphony Orchestra and I happen to fall upon this! It was amazing and so...Erie!!!

Reminded me of something Tim Burton would do :) Very well done!

  • @Hfcld9 You mean there is a generation that will not associate this piece with Alfred Hitchcock? That's eerie!

But you're exceedingly correct, the video is amazing!

  • Wow amazingly done

  • Well done <3

  • Very well done!

  • well cice2 that would be because you are an arrogant prat who cannot respect the hard work of and beauty involved in the painstaking process of stop motion

  • Great work... congratulations!!!

  • coolest video on youtube

  • verry wellmade and fits the atmosphere of the pice ^^

  • Hermoso

  • Good evening!

  • Lovely!

  • You should've had an Alfred Hitchcock puppet LOL

  • I love this music! I played it in band!!! :D

  • i played this song in orchestra

  • We're playing this at music camp and I always thought it was such a light, happy piece and imagined small children skipping to it. I was slightly taken back when people described it as 'creepy' and 'spooky' !

  • One of those toys / puppets looks like it's from the old Kukla, Fran & Ollie show.

This is wild. I love stop - motion / motion capture stuff.

  • Hola soy sofia y tengo 6 años y vi tu historia cuando tenia 5 años me encanto. Te felicito es BKN CHAO ME GUSTO CONOCERTE Y AHORA TENGO QUE DECIRTE ADIOS BYE BYE CHAO.

  • How very...I don't want to say 'sweet' because of the sad story.

    How about amazing and wonderful!

    Time well spent ;)

  • I love this; I wish pop up dictionaries were real. :) I have to say, the alligator has to be my favorite. This was amazing.

  • I love the animation. Very well synced to the music.

I have but one nitpick. The real tragedy of the story is the spelling of cemetery.

  • I'm sure a million and one people have already said this but...very Tim Burton. You get a like for this, very good! Loved it. :)

  • @daystilljersey Yeah, I thought so, too! I was watching it thinking, "This is something Tim Burton would do." And those toys looked like some of Tim Burton's creations too, haha :D Gotta love it...

  • good job man. I've always wanted to be an amateur director that created something that can rival big time Hollywood directors. but I haven't really started on anything, I can't even write a good story.

  • At 05:14 you can see a copy of The Melancholy Death Of Oyster Boy by Tim Burton under the candlestick holder.

  • This is my brothers and my favorite song to play. We both play the violin. But he is two years older and alot better than I am

  • great

  • (Additionally:) I want to emphasize that my criticism is based upon my liking this work a lot. The whole thing after 1:13 is pretty much faultless and of astonishing quality. - I esp. like the way you directed and managed your vulture undertakers, the way they fly off after delivering the corpse to its interment, all the details. And I both registered a LIKE rating and put your video in my Favorites. Thanks!

  • @mrtwiddle !Agreed! The intro is trop de longuers. Just a bit. The rest is much less disappointing.

@mrslovettrules The music @ 3:31 f must be from a different edit of this work - it is the sort of passage that, as to the longer parts of the beginning of this video, might well have been edited down.

(In detail: the first 25 seconds would be better at about 10 sec.s or less. The next part ~ 0:47 - 1:13 would be better omitted - the cat is charming, but inappropriate to the entire tone.)

  • 21 dislikes? I need 21 bullets.

  • @DexyART 42 bullets, Rule #2 double tap....(Zombieland)

  • @BlainePistolle You're right. How could I forget that. How silly of me.

  • @DexyART 21 bullets all for yourself for making that stupid comment.

  • @DexyART Might need 2 extra ones for the fat kids who can take more hits.

  • @DexyART I'll get the other six.

  • @DexyART you need seven more, either that or i'll take em out for ya? s'not a problem (:

  • @DexyART Looks like the count might need to be raised to 30 now...

  • @DexyART I like most of the video, but a it's hard to like an intro that's over 1:45 before it actually starts.

  • wonderful. putting on my facebook page.

  • AWESOMENESS!

  • I thought it was Tim Burton-esque as well. VERY excellent work! Bravo, Eric Fonseca.

  • Axe the first two minutes! They're are awful, but everything afterward is great.

  • Reminds me of Halloween which means I love it.

    Great work.

  • i love this video, and this song. what is the music at 3:31. i have sheet music for funeral march of a marionette, but it isn't in there.

  • Splendid!

  • Interesting piece. I would like to see the dark edge of visual replaced by something more brilliant that might provide a wider contrast to the music. Allow the music to be as dark as it is and accent that darkness by contrasting it with something that is very happy. This keeps the animation from competing with the music. Imagine the dead marionette with a wide-eye, grinning smile as it is being buried; to me, that would be the ultimate creepy image...if that's what you're after.

  • Well done! Like it very much. Thanks

  • AWESOME

  • hello, my name is christian I'm from mexico sources, seeing your short funeral march along with the work of burton inspired me to make my first stop motion work in 2008 entitled murmullos en el páramo, director and I am now doing my second film, thanks.

  • Wow. I'm really impressed, knowing the work that goes into animation like this.

  • Nice piece of work. I want more!

    Movie Trivia:

1:We can see COFA logo on one of headstones.

2.we can see Tim Burton's book "The Melancholy Death of Oyster Boy and Other Stories" on bookcase.

  • this guy must hate being compared to tim burton.

  • If you were going for the Tim Burton look, it didn't happen... there's no Johnny Deep anywhere!!!

Just kidding. Very nice piece. Very good work.

  • awesome :O

  • This reminds me of the Quay Brothers work. Only differance is that this actually makes sense, lol:)

  • nice one, but looked too burtonesque :)

  • Dark, potent and refreshing as Good Old English Ale :)

  • Great Style and capture of animation. Truly Dwiggins inspired - which more appropriate to the magic....

  • Amazing! Absolutely amazing! You did a wonderful job and I love how you took great care with even the small things! This had (like everyone else has said) a Tim Burton feel to it.

  • Absolutley wonderful. Just stunning. I love it!!! :D

  • The beginning was a little slow, but it got better and better! :]

  • this. is. awesome :D
