@CULTBMXTJAY23 I built the car from a kit, based on the Team Associated TC4 chassis, and used a brushless ESC and motor, with a lithium polymer battery. You can buy ready to race kits on ebay or some websites, but the electronics will probably have to be brought separately, if you want tyre smoking power. But if this will be your first RC car, i suggest you start of with something less powerful, as they are VERY easy to damage. and can cause injury to others.
My Rx has telemetry, which tells me motor temperature, and my ESC has thermal protection, the ESC gets far hotter than the motor ever does. It might burn out your average toy, but my motor and ESC are far beyond toys... but thank you for your concern.
