  • I miss Jimmy man!!!!! AGHHHHHHHHHH

  • Billy is a god. He plays like one, he looks like one, he is one.

  • When this video started, I could not tell you how into it I was. So badass...

Then right after 0:45 it felt like somebody had just puked all over my face. Why would Billy Corgan puke on my face?!?!? Oh yeah, that's right, he's done that with every other song I've tried to listen to. You had such a good thing going :( Once that guitar vomit continued just after 1:30, I had to stop the video... nobody can tell me his singing on top of that bullshit added anything beneficial.

  • @Williama15k you, sir, need to kill yourself

  • @ShopliftersUnite I am assuming you're musically savvy... with that said, I challenge you to play this video and block out all instrumentals and just listen to pumpkin pukes voice. With that accomplished, add the instrumental pumpkin puke adds around 1:30 that any prepubescent boy could accomplish with his balls across strings. Billy puke face pumpkin dick ruined the song with all of his contributions. Take him out and enjoy the real talent that makes the band.

  • @Williama15k You need to shut the fuck up and realize that Billy's voice is raw, hard, heavy, emotional, and energetic. As opposed auto tuned, generic, boring, and wimpy. Son you can take all of you pop rock, pop punk, rap, pop music, and shitty pop country and go to hell with it. I will take my Fender Stratocaster, Fuzz Box, and Amp and play slunk on your grave.

  • @nicholsjoshua15 Listen fanboy, just attempt what I suggested earlier to @ShoplifersUnite. If you still feel the same way about SP then by all means, play it at your wedding for all I care. Just trying to help you see.

    --

On a side note, the Nirvana videos you uploaded... did you find the original album cover too offensive? The Nevermind CD I have has a sticker that reads; "If you're offended by this, you must be a closet pedophile." Something I thought a fan of "raw/original" would understand.

  • @Williama15k Oh okay, now I remember what I said, it's been so long I forgot about you retarded ass. Anyway I do think Billy has a great voice. Can you imagine anyone else singing Disarm, United States, Thirty Three, I Am One, or Ava Adore? And as for the Nirvana album I posted, no I didn't get offended at the album art, that's just a cool picture. Of course you would use the album art because you can't think for your self. Oh and by the way if you hate Sp why watch them?

  • No... Jimmy Chamberlain was the whole Fuckn song dude. Hands down... Groove MONSTER

  • Such an amazingly powerful and layered song, has an apocalyptic vibe to it. This and That's The Way rate among their very best, up there with 90's Pumpkins material.

  • Best live vocal I've heard from Billy in ages. As always - the guitar playing is spot on... Good man!

  • this song fucking rulez, n anyone else thinking otherwise can suck a dick

  • Where do he find all these hot female bass players??

  • Jimmy is F-ing GOD!

  • I love the Smashing Pumpkins, but hearing songs like this make me want to go backwards in the past to earlier songs.

  • @whpriol1 But this song is like their older stuff, and so is thats the way my love is, i can immagine both this and that on mellon collie

  • @jsh020 Maybe mellon collie. The notable SP material in my opinion is there first two albums and to a lesser extent mellon collie. You could really hear the fiery passion and energy that was common at this time among musicians of the X generation. You don't have that here or in the other song you mentioned. I love this band. I was huge fan fifteen years ago, but to be honest I just yawn hearing songs like this and other newer material. But, if this is what you really enjoy by them then great!!

  • @whpriol1 the only problem with their new stuff to me is that they dont get heavy anymore, also have you heard Teargarden by Kaleidyscope, that sound slike old SP all around,

  • @jsh020 I mean this song gets heavy, but it's the passion and energy lacking like I suggested in my last comment. I find this song quite stale and uninspiring. The drumming is super as others have noted. As for the band you compared to earlier Pumpkins I do not know them. I'll check this group out)).

  • Billy Corgan and Chamberlain the drummer are the only two remaining members of the band?

  • @whpriol1 No, only Billy. Since 2009, Chamberlin is remplaced by Mike Byrne

  • what's wrong with commies?

  • Download the audio from this clip at speedyconversion doht cohm.

  • ¡DRUMS!

  • 8 people are commie bastards

  • @jackpot277 the irony? this song is all about american people fighting for true freedom it has nothing to do with communism rofl, you illiterate fuck.

  • Jimmy where are you???

  • well this is ridiculous

  • Smashing Pumpkins live is second best to NOTHING!

  • US Billboard 200[58] 2 New Zealand RIANZ Albums Chart[59] 1 Canadian Albums Chart[60] 1 UK Albums Chart[61] 4 Irish Albums Chart[62] 5 Swiss albums chart[63] 5 Italian albums chart[63] 5 German Albums Chart[64] 7 Dutch albums chart[63] 7 Australian albums chart[65] 7 Portuguese albums chart[66] 7 Danish albums chart[67] That's the chart for zeitgeist. If you think you can do any better then go start your own legendary band.
  • I love the low tuning

  • Makes Muse sound like the Beach Boys!

  • @unaperrson Muse is different, and is awesome too

  • pantera- 13 steps to nowhere... nuf said. the intro fills that jimmy plays in this are just about the exact same as in the song just mentioned, which are played by vinnie paul... just putting it out there

  • @jdc185 You might be right, I don't know that song off the top of my head, but Jimmy Chamberlain could take Vinnie Paul to school as far as drumming goes...just putting it out there.

  • @endocry yeah i wouldn't deny that, depends on what style though, considering vinnie's foot techniques. Rather than comparing them I think it's okay to say they're both great at what they do and leave it at that...

  • lol Billy has written two songs about the US. Geek USA was all for the US and United States is against the US.

  • not to mention jimmy playing one of his best songs. a whole song of the most awesome fills ever. read where billy said he played it in one take for tha record? jimmy....

  • why is the crowd so fucking dead. like there just standing there like "great song.....yeah i love it" but there not even jumping up and down and shit like wtf this is SP not some pussy band.

  • Because all the seats up front were like $1000 plus dollars, some selling on ebay for 5-10 grand. A lot of older rich new yorkers, and lame celebs like Randy Jackson also this is after 6-7 hrs in the hot sun all day.

  • ginger is purtyful :]

  • and a savage bassist... exactly what I like in a girl.

  • 6:27 oh say can you see :D

  • I learned how 2 play this song on guitar but i dont know what destortion pedal billy is using sadly! Does anyone know what destortion pedal he is using?

  • @skizmsucks23

He was using Diezel heads is all I've heard.

  • If I'm not mistaken, he isn't using anything different in this song effect wise as compared to his normal setup for the heavier songs in the set. (Zero, Bullet, etc)

The primary difference in the tone is the change of guitar. He pulls out the Schecter for United States and it's the only song that he uses it with. The guitar has active Seymour Duncan Blackouts, and that's why it sounds so thick and powerful.

So if you're after the tone, you're out of luck if your guitar lacks actives.

  • @skizmsucks23 It's a Diezel Herbert head. I just bought one used for $2900. New they cost around $4000. Pedals are usually crap for live tone unless you're just boosting a head with an OD pedal.

  • @spguitar And Billy being known for his signature sound from the JCM with the KT88's, but I really like the sound of the Diezel on this album. And I don't understand all the criticism of this album, there are some killer songs on it.

  • Epic Rock!

  • sounds like superjesus at the start

  • And at the end it sounds like X.Y.U :D

  • Yeah, I love how it's almost a jam at the end.

  • Yeah it's my favorite off Zeitgeist

  • I agree not only is united states the best song off of zeitgeist but one of their best songs ever!

  • don't you mean Superchrist.

  • wow they got a new hot bassist lol go pumpkins

  • I love this song... needs a video, Billy. It is freakin' EPIC

  • I think jimmy did his best druming on this album

  • I'd say for pre-breakup songs, Jimmy would have been kind of replaceable, but on Zeitgeist and everything after, he really kicked it up, gonna be hard to imitate.

  • there is nothing billy can do about him leaving and if you didnt know billy is already writing songs for the next album.

And why does it piss you off so much im sure if you saw them you would still love to hear today, zero, bwbw, to name a few so maybe its a good idea keeping the smasshing pumpkins name so that they can do this and hey who can complain about ginger lol fiiiiiiiiiiiitttt

  • great song, one of my favorites from their new album. It is SOOO sad jimmy left, because the drumming in this song is amazing.

  • Like "The Aeroplane Flies High," this is one of those Pumpkins songs that's totally awesome, but would never get any air play because it's too long. It's a shame.

  • X.Y.U. is the same, its so amazing but its around four and a half years long i think.

  • Jimmy has quit.

  • Chamberlin is a drum machine

  • James "jimmy" is such an amazing drummer one of the BEST STILL ALIVE!!!! S.P ROCKS LAST OF THE DYING BREED OF REAL TALENTED MUSICIANS

  • I agree, RHCP sell out

    Green Day-sell out

but S.P. and Foo Fighters fuckin rock so hard, especially the Foo, my fav band

  • yeah right on mate, the Pumpkins are never guna sell out on us.

now im guna go listen to their new song which was made for a video game.

or their other one from the car advert.

actually fuck it, I'll just listen to the new album. but I dunno which version, HMV, Best Buy, iTunes...? hm...

  • FOL wasnt MEANT to be felt on the same emotional level as the rest of SP's work. It's not selling out. It's written in a different way, with a different purpose. The only thing I'm angry about is how Today made its way onto a Visa commercial. If this was Billy's own doing, it's a shame. However, I also know he's at odds with his old record company, so it could be the result of that also. However, in any manner, I don't think he's sold out, just changed his logic, which he does frequently.

  • foshow siverfuck the pumpkins truely are the greatest fuckin band alive!!:) this has to be one of the coolest fuckin psycadelic songs ever too :D

  • Drumming is amazing :)

  • @kiwivogel yes , but chamaberlin was chamberling !!!!!!

  • billy is a straight up beast!

and for the record i wud straight up fuck that chick

  • hahahaha too rytz mate. id love to give darcy a seeing to more like

  • Man, Billy looks mad or something...little true emotion in the music.

  • Its the biggest Rock Concert in Europe(Germany) damn right there!...

  • ....holy shit so many people

  • you know,on nay album, not every song is oging to brilliant.there are some good songs on zeitgeist that are good to listen to:

Doomsday Clock,7 shades of black, bleeding the orchid, thats the way, tarantula, starz, united states, bring the light, come on lets go.

so its quite a good album i think.

  • fight i wanna fight i wanna fight revolution tonight <3 love this song <3

  • The drums are so sick in the song.

  • Its a schecter guitar.

  • SP are the best!!!

    i feel something really psichedelik!

  • does anyone know the name of corgans guitar? message me please. :)

  • Totally awesome.

  • one of the best pumpkins song

  • uli jon roth. look for "smashing pumpkins gossamer live rock am ring" and watch all 3 parts.. fucking epic.

  • i was there, it was so unbelivable to the smashing pumpkins live.

this was the third song after today and bullet with butterfly wings.

i didn't know any of the song from the new album because this was released after this gig, but that doesn't matter

  • Am I too childish to rank Jimmy Chamberlin my drum hero?

I wanna play drums like him!

Anyway, this vid is too awesome!!

  • not all all man, jimmy is one of a kind

  • awesome and raw, I so fucking adore this live footage...

  • i heard this song the other day playing in a record shop and my and my friend thought it was class, so she recorded it on her phone and in like 20 seconds it was able to identify what the song was. and i had to come home and listen to it!!! it's so amazing.

  • This sosngh is...INCREDIBLE!!!

    GOSH!!!!

  • It's pretty much the best song of the album....Tina eat the food!

  • Quality song.

  • this is why smashing pumpkins got so big. thier originality, and lets face it, who other that billy corgan get away with 2 1/2 minutes of feedback eh?

also, HOW THE FUCK DID ZETGIEST ONLY GET 2 OUTA 5 K'S?

    you douchebag ian winwood ¬¬

  • I saw these guys in Columbus, and it was the best show I've ever fucking seen. 2 encores, and a Star-Spangled Banner in this song, and Eruption in Heavy Metal Machine. Fucking ridiculous.

  • This rulz!!!

  • Holy hell chamberlin is one sick ass drummer

  • did ya know he actually broke a pair of cymbals in the original recording of "Starz"? If ya listen to the drums in that song you pretty much understand. He's been in the band since the beginning and in Zwan so i bet he's pretty strong.

  • He has been in long before that. I got kicked out of the band during a tour for ava adore for drug use. He has since cleaned up his act so I hear.

  • wtf do you mean YOU got kicked out of the band during the ava dore tour?

  • I said "he" as in refering to Jimmy chamberlin.

Oh rereading my comment I did both use he and i, typo sorry.

  • Great Fucking Song... Smashing Pumpkins RULE

  • Jimmy recorded this damn drum track in one take. One damn take! A genius, if I do say so myself.

  • pretty short song anyway

  • Jimmy doesn't hit the snare until 7 minutes in ... bloody brilliant bit o' performance that is.

  • Kicks ass and takes name.

  • Brilliant song.

  • goddamn amazing

  • There was a Star Spangled Banner solo at Salt Lake. It was so kickass, I nearly died.

  • Lol jeff looks kinda impressed at 6:19

  • Who the hell said that sp's aren't good anymore? ...

  • Rock is dead.

  • yep.

Billy would even be the first to agree on that matter.

  • best song i've heard in a long time

  • rocks!

  • People say 1979 was the best song written by the Smashing Pumpkins, but those people probslbly didn't hear this song yet.United States is the best song written by them.Hope I see them in Philly

  • Ottima esibizione...GRANDI SMASHING PUMPKINS!!! GRANDE BILLY!!!! REEEEVOLUTIOOON!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • this song is a definate sign the pumpkins are back and says F U to any of the nay-sayers

  • great song. as good or better than anything they've done. it rivals silverfuck for the longest, kickass-ist song.
