Yes but there is far more to this than here. Russian wooden spoons have great tone. If you use those of 2 different sizes then you can flip them over and change octave. You can also have different spoons in different sizes and now you have an instrument capable of playing notes. You can even make an instrument to hold the spoons and slide up and down it. In fact you can even be more complex than that.

Great way of explaining how to play the spoons. I love to play the spoons but still don't have the spoons running down my fingers yet. I suppose with a little practice I'll get better. I love to show kids how to play the spoons. I bring my spoons and my canadian music camping with me every summer. The parents enjoym it too.

Well, if you mean how long did it take for me to get to thepoint where I was at in the video, the answer is it took me a while. Before youtube, the only learning tool I could find was some diagrams with some written instructions. When I finally understood it, I sat in my room for a few hours and really mmade sure my grip was good. It is all about the grip. Without a good grip, you can't do it properly. Rhythm is the second part, but that can always be learned as well. Good luck.
