This is as excellent an analysis of those events as I have heard. Spot on. The real farce of the Essex rebellion was that it was all totally unnecessary. The Queen died less than 2 years later, and James ascended without any help from Essex at all. If the fool had only had a little patience. but then, I guess he wouldn't have been a fool, in that case.
