@JLIV461 Wasn't he batting coach and now Coach of the Dodgers? I don't think many people could be wrong. He is hired for his knowledge. Where do you coach? are you a MLB coach or a little league coach? That's what I thought. Kids will whiff because they are not only learning to swing, but are learning balancing with a heavy stick in their hands. Remember they just learned to run fast and just mastered walking balanced.

He is correct in that his technique IS the SHORTEST path to the ball. But what we really are looking for is the FASTEST path to the ball.
