Good console with some great games, but we're talking one a year, not 10 great games per year as you'll find on the xbox or playstation. However, Resi 4, Twilight Princess, and Goldeneye 007 are some of the best games ever made and make the wii worth owning, as I'm sure the next Zelda game will.

I was actually thinking of creating a survival horror game for the Wii. One that involves sneaking from INCREDIBLY dangerous and frightening creatures. The game would take place in a later future (2070) with equipment mostly being police issued tools (no guns of course because I'm going for 3D Monster maze style).

Not to mention the Wii and Kinect have two different styles (meaning some things you can't do on the Kinect you can on the Wii so games will be different different meaning they can't be compared). And for the Kinect, you need an Xbox360 AND Kinect. So recommendation would be based on if they already have an Xbox AND what games there are depending on their interest.

The weapon wheel, shoot button, pointing for aiming. And it's on rails, so no need for movement.

I don't have a PS3 and never played the original game, and I know the gameplay is good. But taking that aside, is this still worth buying in terms of the story? I realise the reviews for the story are great, but I feel like having never played the ps3 version I would be missing out or only getting a small piece of the story. It's pretty stupid that they made a series cross system in this way, because wii players can't learn the story of DS1 and the upcoming DS2

(Those comics involved different characters in the ishimura not the colony which is where the Wii game starts) basically this was IN the story so I don't know this "made up bullshit" of which you speak.

Not to mention Dead Space 1 actually works perfectly on the Wii (obviously remove some dynamic shadows and lower shaders which aren't that important), but they wanted to make a prequel arcade style which is pretty sweet.
