My dad just diagnosed with ALS that has started with the brain. It's very sad. He functions very normally but cannot even speak the simplest words or swallow food barely. :( its hard to watch
We need your help to STOP ALS. Not raising awareness & funding ALS will not receive the research necessary to find a cure. It will continue to strike down every person.
We believe that Phase 2 drugs showing safety & efficacy, such as Dexpramipexole, & NP001, as well as off label wf10, should be made available to us through Compassionate Use Now. My dear mother died in October from a very rapid form of ALS. She was so strong and kept a smile on her face. I miss her so much. I can't imagine what goes through your mind when you are given this diagnosis. I learned so much from my mom during this whole horrible period when we learned she had this disease. She accepted it and was always trying to comfort us. What an inspiration she was. I pray for all the people and families who have to deal with this. Miss and love you mom.
Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) aka: Lou Gehrigh's disease, is a relentlessly progressive paralyzing disease - most patients die within 2-5 yrs.
ALS is a death sentence w/no end in sight & the only way to further push for research is to get the word out. There is no known cure for ALS, but you can easily bring a thousand people the seed of hope.
PLEASE HELP SPREAD PUBLIC AWARENESS IN THE FIGHT AGAINST ALS AND HELP STRIKE OUT AND DEFEAT ALS.
My Papa has ALS. He is progressing faster than most but my grandmother and I refuse to put him in a nursing home. I moved in with them to help take care of him and let me say, it is hard seeing him like this. He used to be so active and now he can barely walk. We are trying to save up money to get a handicap van so that he doesn't have to sit inside all day. Please pray for us.
Unfourtunatly ALS is a genetic disease meaning it progresses as you age so when ur brain tells your body to age it also tells your nerves to stop working so your brain as keeping you alive is also destructing your life. You cannot cure something like this without removing a vital piece of the brain. You can add stemcells but they will slowly deteriate as much as your original cells have.
My dad just died 2 months ago of lou gehrig's disease but he was in the early stages of it and had a heart attack and died. He never got really bad off because he was still walking and talking when he died. Kind of merciful i think that it didn't go too far into the disease.
To thepride103 don't wait for someone famous to help, make a change your self I'm 13 years old and next year were going to do a fundraiser in my school for ALS my sister who is 10 years old about to be 11 are going to run it. Our motivation is our dad has ALS so don't wait for someone else make a change yourself.
My mother has been diagnosed, she is having major difficulty speaking and eating. She is a very social, beautiful woman, but God has always been first in her life. My dad is a trooper, but he gets so down. I am over there all the time to help in any way I can.
God bless you all, and your loved ones who are battling this hideous disease.
My Godmother was just diagnosed with this horrible disease. Pray for all the people with this disease. PLEASE HELP FIND A CURE. WE NEED SOMEONE FAMOUS TO LEAD THE WAY!
i lost my uncle two days ago after a 6 year hard battle of ALS. RIP Uncle Don! We love and miss you so much! May you now walk the walk and talk that you haven't talked in 5 years!
this is such a horrible disease. please find a cure future generations, and bless those that know someone who has it, and the people that have it themselves.

I'm so excited about this natural health nutrient I heard from the Dr. Oz Show on TV on 1/18/11, when he interviewed famous/controversial holistic medicine Dr. Joseph Mercola. I will recommend it to all my friends And family and anyone interested.
& forgot to say she could not talk... not hearing her voice was the worst part. seeing her suffer was terrible, but when she cant tell you why she isnt confortable and you have to move her around for hours till she nods her head yes... it becomes very painful to watch. talking mchines only work for so long, until the person gets too weak to use them.. we need a cure for this disease!!!!
my best friend died july 31 of this year. just 10 days ago. she had ALS. she was diagnosed in 2008. at first the doctors thought she just had a stroke & thats why she couldnt talk as well. they gave her exercises for her mouth, but when they descovered it was ALS, it was too late. the damage was already done. she progressed very fast. my family and i moved in with her to take care of her. when she passed, she couldnt not swallow, eat, move her arms or legs. this disease is terrible! iloveyougma!
Thanks for the video. It put a perspective on things for me. I'm a screenwriter doing research for a movie about an active man who is diagnosed with ALS. Fuck this disease.
6 seconds ago morons like leviticus and their Godless "effort" are responsible for most of the trouble on this planet and the universe. they are jealous of God's power and authority ("yeah, we can do that"). for some reason, leviticus took books of bad ideas and "laws" out of the garbage where God put them and then leviticus made use of them. others went along with it and then try to trick others too. it is all bad.
my dad died of this when i was only 6....can yu imagine him telling me "im going to die"..

ALS may shorten life, it does not have to destroy it. Please do not despair!
In an unprecedented breakthrough, a compound has been discovered that promotes the growth of new mitochondria structures within aging cells!
