  • Marvin is so smooooooth, and Bill's playing is always amazing. Great post!

  • Quelle merveilleuse version ! I love it !

  • This is one GREAT quartet. I'm a trumpeter and pianist and have been a big fan of Bill Mays and Marvin Stamm for many years -- two of the greatest jazz musicians out there. You should check out all videos of these guys here at youtube. You will not be disappointed. Always great performances by master musicians. Thx for posting these, "JazzVideoGuy." Now if we could just keep Chet's videos up on youtube ....

  • A grad of one of the finest music schools in the U.S. North Texas. Ed Soph is also a Univ of North Texas grad. Marvin plays each year at a trumpet school here in Dallas. What a talent and what a team he and Bill Mays make.

  • Super! I love it! Best I've heard so far!

  • Woderful rendition of this famous song. Nice to see Rufus Reid playing his usual tastefully applied bass lines. Magnificent!

  • is this on CD?

  • Wow! I am from the "less is more" school, and these guys have it! I haven't heard such tasteful restraint on piano since Bill Evans. Very respectful of the composer's intentions for this song, I'm sure.

  • Love it! Very nice indeed.

  • This is really amazing.. What a wonderful music !! Thanks

  • Incredible genius' of our times. Marv and Bill. Bill Mays knocks me out! Another piano player

  • Marvin Stamm is a great ballad player. His sound on this recalls Jack Sheldon's sound and playing on the soundtrack of The Sandpiper....so romantic and saying so much with a few notes. Yeh...Mr Stamm!

  • I love Rufus Reid!

  • very nice!! You guys should check out Gigi MacKenzie sing The Shadow of Your Smile here on You Tube....she has an amazing voice just like her mother...

  • A giant Crown Royal felt bag on the PIANO for a velvetty tone...nice touch!

Seriously, this is truly sublime. Great post, JVG!
