@MrStevenWolfe Take a look at "Payback" (1999) - that was a perfect Max Payne movie. Great atmosphere, acting, soundtrack and the overall 'look' really suited the genre.
I'm afraid MP3 won't be able to call itself 'a game noir' as MP1 and MP2 could - it's going to be a decent action game with the features from the MP-series but I don't think it will be much more than that...
There's something wrong if Rockstar needs to make annotations to actually explain the things that happened while Max Payne 1 & 2, and that those things DIDN'T happen in the actual games.

Having recently re-played both Max Payne 1 & 2, I can say with COMPLETE certainty that this will not only match the previous games' atmosphere and feel, but also surpass it. This is how sequels should be: an improvement on what came before, while still staying familiar. Max Payne 2 did this for Max Payne 1, and now it seems they are carrying the trend from 2 to 3. Good job, Rockstar. You have never lost my respect yet, and it only gains with each new title.

@IanFree0007 Agreed. Just to add a little something. São Paulo is nationaly known as The "Drizzle Land", and it is a common target of jokes throughout the country regarding its "depressive" weather and atmosphere. So I tell for sure that Rockstar, as always, made a great decision.

I very much appreciate the fact that there is a new San Andreas version currently in development but PLEASE consider a revamped version of GTA Vice City for all of the next generationplatforms with all the epic 80s tracks from the original. It is a highly therapeutic game for people like me that live in cold and depressing countries.

The difference between MW, COD, etc. and games like Max Payne is that these are adventure RPGs, meaning they have a set storyline, which some people get bored with, whereas with campaign games you can play many times, each time with different people. @TheGoldenMachineGun That's your opinion. I can play the original Max Payne games for PS2 many times and still enjoy it. I can't say that about other games I've played. The difference between MW, COD, etc. and games like Max Payne is that these are adventure RPGs, meaning they have a set storyline, which some people get bored with, whereas with campaign games you can play many times, each time with different people. They both have merits, so quit bitching, and let people have an opinion. Cheers!

Both MP1 and 2 are adult, serious games that still stand very strong thanks to bullet-time and brilliant voice acting.
We don't want "same again", we just want the essence of Max Payne - a noir city story.
But MW3? lol. 60 bucks for a map pack and some weapons. Don't even mention it.
