get the book "The Gladiators." absolutly awsome book. i dont like rading about wreslting even though ive been at it for years but this is one of the best ive read when it comes to sports.
i really love how his style is different from gables. wen sanderson was a teenager he came to his house and worked with him and club, and gable assumed he was gonna work out in the morning and cael said no. it absolutly astounded gable seeing how talented he was. his dad always treated wrestling as a game, not a life and death situation, i love that.
I stand corrected, YES Cael is one of the greatest American wrestlers ever, I apologize that I had forgottan his gold Olympic medal. I hope he attempts a second gold medal in these next Olympics. I do not think any American has ever won 3 gold medals in Olympic wrestling, Baumgartner came close, he won 2 golds, a silver and a bronze in 4 seperate Olympics. Kenny Monday came very close winning a gold, a silver and a 5th in 3 Olympics.
Fulhart ain't a slouch. His technique is strange but he was (is) a world class wrestler, It seemed that he countered Cael's ankle picks by under/over hooks.
Well I was WRONG about Cael, I really got it mixed up, I looked it up, you all are right, he is an Olympic Gold medalist. I saw him at Midlands years ago, his style absolutely amazed me. Definitely one of the greatest of this present wrestling generation. Back in my time it was Gable, Chris Campbell, Randy Lewis, Kennny Monday, to name a few.
Cael definitely won 1 or 2 World Championships, but are you SURE he won the Olympics ? I'm going to look it up, The reason I don't believe he won is - - - don't get mad at me for this, but I recall being SHOCKED that either he didn't make the team or didn't win gold or silver - - I could be WRONG- - - not here to argue, let's look it up somewhere
i have a poster of him standing on the top of the podium in athens....an i went to the Iowa state wrestling camp last week, and got a chance to sit and talk with cody and cael....there both really cool guys
i just watched an interview with THE CAEL SANDERSON and he deffinitly did win a gold in athens. i'm upset that some people actual doubted his abilities. cael sanderson is one heck of a male.
Lee Fullhart is one of the only people to ever hand Cael Sanderson a loss. I remember watching the two wrestle 3 times at the World Trials in St. Paul, Minnesota and how shocked a lot of the people were when Fullhart won the first match 3-2. Sanderson won 6-1 and then 7-0 to secure the championship however.

@evesgardenofsins Who do you think is better: Dan Gable or Cael Sanderon? Who do you think would win in their prime: Dan or Cael? Why?

@tookfirst Sanderson won gold at the 84 kg(184.8 lbs) weight class, defeating Eui Jae Moon of South Korea in the finals.[6][7]
He was also the 2003 World Championship silver medalist, and a three-time national freestyle champion (2001–03).[8] I got this from wikipedia

this was the worst performance ive ever seen by cae. he didnt hit any of his shots and he backed up and stalled the entire second half of the match.

Cael ran away the whole match... but I guess he made up for it by winning gold at Athens.
