Still, fire orb spaming is the best move there really is for mario, in my opinion.

Actually, from my experience, the disabling feature was more a novelty than an effective tactic because I generally killed him way too quickly for him to be able to do much with that. Kinda sad that it wasn't a feature the developers explored further...

When I got to this point, I found keeping Geno alive to be a daunting task. So I just let him get K.O.ed and won the battle with Mallow and Mario alone.
